Tinashe SambiriFearless MDC Alliance vice chairperson Hon Job Sikhala has accused the Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa of exposing citizens to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Mnangagwa is expected to address a rally in Chivi District on Saturday, despite the fact that COVID-19 cases are rising in the country.

Hon Sikhala also accused the Zanu PF regime of using COVID-19 restrictions to suppress perceived political opponents.

“They ban us but see:
All provincial members, DCC executive members, CC members and all district chairpersons (3 per district) will be attending HE, President Mnangagwa’s rally kwa Chivi on Saturday 03.07.2. All buses will nw leave from Chitsanga hall for Chivi on Saturday morning,” Hon Sikhala wrote on Twitter.

Commenting on the protests in South Africa following the conviction and sentencing of former President Jacob Zuma, Hon Sikhala said:

“This is what happens when people see as if their system is persecuting opponents for political gain.

In SA they don’t shoot those who express themselves.

Here, coming to Court in solidarity, they arrest, torture and keep u in Remand prison for months.

Ours is a cursed nation.”
