After realising the changes and developements after the so said Suprime Court judgment,we as the youth assembly are so worried about how these decisions made without the mandate of the National Executive and the National Council,which are the boards that make decision in between congresses.
We are very worried about the captured courts and the leadership that is very clear that is working hand in hand with Zanu PF,this therefore gets to a point that,we the young people of this rainbow province (Mat South) who were part of the 2014 leadership we are taking over the security of the party effectively today 10/10/20
This therefore serves that we are now in charge of the security of the organization or the peoples project temporarily until the national council sits and map a way forward.

The ruling ZANU PF has underplayed the importance of by-elections to fill vacant council and Parliamentary seats left vacant mainly by MDC Alliance members who were recalled by the interim MDC-T leadership.
These remarks were made by the party’s acting secretary of Information, Patrick “Czar” Chinamasa during the party’s weekly media briefing held in Harare this Saturday.
The former Finance Minister said that ZANU PF awaits guidance from the relevant authorities like the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission on how to go about the process. Chinamasa added:

However, the Party makes it categorically clear that the By-elections are not even an issue of much interest as the Party already dominates the representation in Parly. He adds that the Opposition should therefore desist from claiming that the Party is influencing the delay.
This comes when the Minister of Health, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga indefinitely suspended by-elections citing the coronavirus.
ZEC also confirmed the suspension reiterating Chiwenga’s point of the prevalence of the pandemic.
The ban on by-elections was criticised by some especially members of the opposition MDC Alliance who opined that it was a strategy by the ruling party to allow MDC-T to appoint replacements.
Some analysts believe ZANU PF is conniving with MDC-T to weaken its rival MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa ahead of the 2023 elections.

FORMER ZANU PF Youth League political commissar chair Godfrey Tsenengamu has been remanded in custody to the 12th of this month.
He appeared in court this Saturday on allegations of inciting public violence.
The state-led by Mr Lancelot Mutsokoti and Desire Chidanire opposed the granting of bail to the accused.
Investigation officer in the matter Detective Inspector Clifford Mugaviri argued that if the accused is granted bail there are chances that he will team up with his accomplices and continue to pursue violent acts against the government.
Tsenengamu’s co-accused Jim Kunaka and Promise Mkhwananzi are still at large.
The court also heard that police are yet to record witness statements from a possible number of other seven people.
Tsenengamu through his legal representative Mr Harrison Nkomo argued that what has been presented before the court does not show any compelling reasons for the state to deny him bail since 31 July had come and gone without any violence.
Tsenengamu surrendered himself to the police on Friday.
Tsenengamu is among 14 political activists, including MDC Alliance national vice-chairperson Job Sikhala and Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe President Obert Masaraure who were on the police wanted list for inciting public violence ahead of the flopped July 31 protests.
MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa has told the citizenry to brace for mass protests against the deteriorating state of affairs. He said the socio-economic and political crises in the country were a signal enough to make the citizenry throng to the streets.
Chamisa said the citizenry must be united since the state cannot kill all the people. He speaks after the state previously used sheer force to disperse protesters.

The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) notes with concern the attack on democracy and violation of the electorate’s choice through the swearing in of the “Fake” members of Parliament and senators on 07 October 2020.
Fifteen MDC T members were sworn in as members of Parliament and senators to replace those in the MDC Alliance proportional representation and Senators who were recalled following factional fights in the main opposition party.
The National Assembly proportional representatives reserved for women are filled from party lists based on the proportion of votes party candidates for constituencies garnered in the last general election. It is based on this, that ZimRights feels saddened that in 2018, the electorate voted for the candidates under MDC Alliance despite that there was a choice on the ballot. It is therefore unfathomable that Dr Thokozani Khupe who ironically fielded her own candidates against the recalled MPs in the 2018 elections and garnered about 45 000 votes has been brought back as the leader of the opposition through a supreme court ruling which conferred her legitimacy in the acting capacity.
The Vacant Constituency seats in the National Assembly are filled in through by-elections which also were suspended by the Minister of Health through Statutory Instrument (S.I) 225A of 2020, another attack on democracy. Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who doubles as the health Minister said that by-elections which were slated for December will be suspended in terms of section 68 of the Public Health Act (Chapter 15:17).
This attempt to stifle democracy and interfere in the operations and functions of Zimbabwe Electoral Commission undermines democracy. The elections are supposed to replace the recalled MDC Alliance members and those that have passed on. The constitution of Zimbabwe in chapter 4 section 67 accords citizens the right to vote and choose political representatives of their choice. It is shocking and disgusting that institutions mandated to respect and implement the constitution are now on the fore front of abrogating and tearing apart the very same constitution which brought them into existence.
What is even more shocking is that while by-elections have been suspended, the ruling party is proceeding to prepare for elections as evidenced by ongoing primary elections.
ZimRights therefore does not understand why the electorate can be forced to continue without representatives because of COVID-19 while other gatherings have been allowed.
ZimRights distaste the imposition of leaders some who were rejected by the electorate in 2018 and calls on the “fake” representatives to step down and allow the will of the people to prevail. Parliament of Zimbabwe is not a heaven of political losers and “fake” representatives.
ZimRights also reminds government and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission of section 159 of the Constitution that states: Whenever a vacancy occurs in any elective public office established in terms of this constitution, the authority charged with organising elections to that body must cause an election to be held within ninety days.
ZimRights is clear on its position that as a young democracy, Zimbabweans should choose their own representatives as per the provision of the constitution and that the will of the people should be respected.
ZimRights also calls on the main opposition party, MDC, to stop politicking and the factional fights that have seen the sacking of representatives chosen by the citizens.

During a meeting of Parliament’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) today, the Minister of Defense and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, indicated that she did not see any problems with illegal crossings at South Africa’s borders.
This was in response to a question about soldiers allegedly accompanying illegal border crossers to do their shopping. The Minister indicated that it was humane to allow poor Zimbabweans to illegally cross the border to access shopping and medical care at South African clinics. She acknowledged that many Zimbabweans were suffering from the effects of poverty and lack of medical care and admitted to knowing that the army was providing transport to assist people in these actions.
SCOPA recently visited the Beitbridge Border fence commissioned by the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) stemming from an illegal directive from Minister Patricia De Lille.
Beitbridge is the busiest border post in Southern Africa and sees thousands of people and hundreds of trucks cross daily in a legal and orderly manner. During this lockdown period that regulation is vitally important to the proper management and containment of Covid-19, a disease which has killed thousands of South Africans and people across the region.
However, the border fence has not been built according to the specifications, and it has seen multiple illegal crossings, breaks and defects which allows for many illegal border crossings.
Minister Mapisa-Nqakula stated that these persons were not illegal immigrants as they were merely crossing back and forth across the border to access services and shopping.
The Minister quite rightfully identifies that poverty is a huge problem in Zimbabwe and that it has the effect of driving people to illegally cross the border. However, in admitting her knowledge of the multiple illegal border crossings and her apparent justification of the army’s role, the Minister has demonstrated utter contempt for the rule of law in South Africa.
It also directly contradicts the regulations and requirements of the National State of Disaster declared by the President and the regulations of the National Command Council. The Minister does not seem to appreciate that it is the role of the Beitbridge Border crossing to facilitate legal entry and exit into the Republic and that there is no justification for illegal crossings.
How can a Cabinet Minister, one directly responsible for national security, not only admit knowledge of illegal actions to a Committee of Parliament, but then seek to justify this behaviour instead of using her Department to enforce legal border crossings?
So, not only is the fence that was commissioned not fit for purpose, but the Ministry of Defence has no problem justifying the illegal crossing of the border it is designed to stop, and the financial implications of facilitating illegal border crossings to the South African taxpayer.
In admitting knowledge of illegal action and in justifying same, Minister Mapisa-Nqakula has added to her long list of indiscretions. It is clear that the President must fire her immediately.

Former ZANU PF Youth League political commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu has chosen to be remanded in custody saying his security was jeopardised as unidentified men were always following him.
Tsenengamu who appeared before the courts this Saturday facing charges of inciting public violence made the remarks during police interviews.
He surrendered himself to the police after three months on the run. The incitement of public violence charges were levelled against him and many others after he allegedly said:
From 31 July and beyond people will die as previously never witnessed in this country….and people will be beaten…levels of corruption will rise…
31 July was a day scheduled for the foiled 31 July anti-corruption protests following reports of grand corruption by some senior government officials.
HStv reports that prosecutors Lancelot Mutsokoti and Desire Chidanhire opposed the granting of bail to Tsengengamu saying he would abscond.
They called to the witness stand, Detective Assistant lnspector Clifford Mugaviri who argued for Tsenengamu’s continued detention saying he was likely to abscond since he is facing a serious offence.
Tsenengamu’s lawyer Harrison Nkomo told the court that Tsenengamu who is married, has four children and was never convicted before is a good candidate for bail.
He was remanded in custody to the 12th of this month.

Some rogue elements within the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) are ripping off Zimbabwean business people by demanding huge bribes to facilitate their entry into South Africa for the purpose of restocking their wares.
The so-called South African “good Samaritan” soldiers have on numerous occasions caught on camera escorting illegal cross border traders from the Zimbabwean side to South Africa.
Reports of some SANDF involved in some corrupt dealings with Zimbabweans recently came out when South African Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa Nqakula, appeared before that country’s Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts where she seemed unaware of the illegal activities.
She instead defended argued that the soldiers were merely assisting “needy Zimbabweans purchase food supplies and medication”.
However, sources in Beitbridge dismissed the South African minister’s submissions as gross misrepresentation of facts, arguing that this was clear corruption being masked as benevolence.
They said that it was as clear as sunshine that the soldiers’ clients were anything but needy but business people who are paying handsome monies for trouble free access into South Africa, in a typical case of officially facilitated nefarious activities.
“Many people who cross daily to the South African side are traders operating along the border seeking to restock their wares”, said Lovemore Ndlovu, who is tuckshop owner in Gwanda.
“During this lockdown period, we have to pay between 300 rands to 500 rands for safe passage into South Africa” added Ndlovu.
Tafadzwa Bwanyai, a regular cross border trader said that SANDF soldiers sometimes obtain goods at prices which were much lower than in South African shops.
He boasted that the soldiers could buy goods directly from manufacturers or wholesalers at a discount.
“SANDF soldiers are making a killing by being bush immigration and customs officials for Zimbabweans and other nationalities. This bribery is not limited to Zimbabweans only,” he said.
Corruption among SANDF officers has risen to a level where the soldiers are being employed by Zimbabwean traders as messengers or porters.
Byron Sithole told The Herald that for 750 rands, “SANDF mules” could fetch groceries for traders from as far as Musina and deliver them to sites along the Limpopo from where one then collects them.
When asked if such payments did not render their business unprofitable, Sithole said that the officers were sourcing the goods cheaply and that the traders were saving a lot by not paying duty and avoiding transport and other costs.
Investigations also revealed that the SANDF forces along the border had mutated into some form of organised crime gang.
The proceeds of their corrupt activities are reportedly distributed to all, including the command element. The security implications of the alleged corrupt activities in Beitbridge poses a grave security threat given the existence of drug mules, human traffickers, terrorists, who can easily manipulate SANDF and the South African police to gain passage for a fee.
More than 150 illegal settlers have invaded the 3 467 hectare citrus farm near Chinhoyi owned by businessman and Zanu PF Zvimba South legislator Philip Chiyangwa.
Chiyangwa said in an interview that the illegal settlers remained on the farm in defiance of a recent court order and were building structures and clearing land in preparation for the 2020-21 farming season.
“We have taken the matter to the courts and the invaders have been served with notices of vacation,” he said. “A security company dealing with the invaders will help remove the invaders from the farm.”
Recently, leaders in Makonde district, which has seen a lot of illegal settlers turning grazing land and conservancy areas into farming land, convened a meeting where they agreed to thwart the invasions.
Makonde district development coordinator Mr Benjamin Zivanai recently said the invasions that have been witnessed in the district had either led to the injuries after clashes or arrests. The meeting saw district heads from police, Environment Management Agency and Mining and Lands ministries deliberate on the moves needed to avoid any future invasions and clashes.
The venue for the Sunday’s friendly match between Malawi and Zimbabwe has been changed, Malawi FA confirmed on Friday.
The game was supposed to happen in Kamuzu Stadium but will now take place on Sunday at Mpira Village Stadium in Blantyre.

By Mari Matutu | I listened to Mwonzora speak during his debate on ZTN. He says he recalled Chalton Hwende because he had published a sworn statement that he is MDC Alliance.
He was so confidence to state that his party MDC-T expels automatically all members who join other political parties through article 5.10.
Now my question is, “was it the affidavit that automatically expelled the member of MDC T or the contents of the affidavit, or the oath on the affidavit, or all?”
If Mwonzora was to take the 9th schedule forms of nomination he will find out that the form requires Hwende to state a political party he wished to contest under and an oath before Commissioner of Oath is made.
If Hwende stated the same facts under oath on a statutory form under oath and the MDC T automatically expels members automatically for stating such statement under oath, when then was Hwende automatically expelled from MDC T, in April 2020 or in June 2018?
If MDC T has powers from its constitution to expel its own members based on sworn statements stating the person has joined another party what makes the national constitution fail to rely on sworn statements made under its laws to establish the party an MP belong?
If the same facts in an affidavit by Hwende are exactly the same as those ZEC received at nomination when does ZEC say he has ceased to belong to MDC T?
Before election or after election. Thank God s129(1)(k) reminds us all that it is membership at the time of election. Thank God Mwonzora also believes affidavits are a true reflection of one’s party.

FC Platinum have announced the departure of assistant coach Lizwe Sweswe on a mutual agreement.
New coach Pieter de Jongh reportedly requested the club to release him as he wanted to bring in Highlanders assistant coach Mandla Mpofu.

CHIEF Musarurwa of Chivhu has blocked villagers from naming a road in rural Hokonya area after former First Lady Grace Mugabe, arguing that proper procedures were not followed.
The villagers had resolved on their own to honour Grace by naming a seven-kilometre gravel road which leads to her family’s homestead in Ndwere village off the Chivhu-Murambinda Road, as Grace Way.
But Chief Musarurwa (Enos Masakwa) said if the villagers wanted to name the road, there were certain procedures which had to be followed and processed through Cabinet.
“There is no such road named Grace Way in Chivhu. As far as I know, no Cabinet sat and resolved to name it that way. Do not mislead citizens by issuing out names that are not approved by the government,” he said.
A villager, Andrew Mazhawidza, said: “The road was named after Grace by villagers some two decades ago when she got married to the now late former President Robert Mugabe. It was a prestigious marriage in this community, hence the road to her homestead became very popular.”
The road passes through Madondo Primary School, a few metres from the Marufu homestead as it proceeds to St Francis of Assisi High School, where Grace was a patron during the time she was First Lady. Apart from the gravel road which villagers had named in her honour, no other institution or place has been named after the once powerful Grace in her rural home.

By Sindile Ncube- In the last 24 hours I have seen loads of people tweeting about that singer Jah Prayzah who apparently got nominated for some international ward that requires a public vote of some sort.
Jah Prayzah is said to be appealing for the Zimbabwean people to vote for him so that he wins this award and subsequently get a bigger head than the one he already has.
But this is a guy who is silent about the evils of this Zanu government. Not only that, he sings at their jamborees where they celebrate their ill gotten power with no sense of self awareness at all.
He was also silent during the #ZimbabweanlivesMatter campaign. He is not a man of the people.
I will go on and say any so called celebrity in Zimbabwe that does not publicly criticize Zanu pf’s systematic destruction of Zimbabwe is an enabler of fascism. There are many of them, we all know them.
Now if these ‘celebrities’ are not echoing the cries of the masses then their celebrity status is pointless to us the masses.
If we the masses are easily suckered in by such pointless celebrities then we are also part of the problems.
This is why Zimbabweans should stop giving attention to these Zanu enablers. These people are laughing on our faces and we keep getting dazzled by whatever it is that they sell to us.
If you want Zimbabwe to get rid of Zanu Pf and become a proper country where things work and where people are treated like human beings, you contradict yourself when you give attention to people like Jah Prayzah.
Until the day he says Zanu pf must go, Jah Prayzah will not be getting my vote nor my attention.

By Sindile Ncube- We have already entered into another dangerously quiet period in Zimbabwean opposition politics.
A period where there is no upcoming demonstration to look forward to. A period where there is no big scandal being reported that involves Zanu Pf.
A quiet period. A dangerous period. A time when the people sit back with haplessness as they watch Zanu Pf satanists ruin the country with impunity.
We are in a period where Zanu Pf agents like Thokozani Khupe, Douglas Mwonzora and the Morgen Komichis are feeling so cocky that they are robbing the real MDC Alliance of its name in broad day light.
Like I said, this is a dangerous period. It’s dangerously so in the sense that in times like these, Zimbabweans tend to point fingers at each other but more predominantly at the real MDC Alliance.
This is not right, and we should desist from this habit. We should not be pointing fingers at each other, we should be coming up with ideas and acting on them.
Campaigning against Zanu is not a single day demo, it’s a struggle. A struggle that takes perseverance, SMART ideas and action.
People like us who want Zanu pf to go should at the very least make the regime feel uncomfortable and ensure that they are always looking over their shoulder.
Everyday that we don’t do something that has the potential to weaken Zanu pf, is a day of failure. Complaining and just watching events as they unfold while doing nothing is not good enough.
What we need are ideas and action. We need to be doing things which make Zanu pf uncomfortable. Things that will make them look over their shoulders.
People shouldn’t expect the real MDC to come up with all the ideas on how to take the fight to Zanu pf. People shouldn’t expect Nelson Chamisa to bear all the burden of this struggle. We are in this together.
When we go to sleep every night, before we start ranting about politics on Twitter or WhatsApp, each one of us should evaluate whether we have done anything during the day that makes Zanu pf at the very least feel uncomfortable.
Ask yourself, what have I done with all the cheap internet data that I have apart from complaining and whining about the perceived inadequacies in the real MDC? If the answer is nothing, then it is a bit hypocritical to accuse the real MDC of not having a plan.
We are all in this together, this struggle is for everyone who wants to remove this satanic Zanu pf party.
And yes, there are so many things people can do to make Zanu uncomfortable, divided and weakened. One of the main things Zanu really hate is when we expose their corruption in detail.
We saw how they were flapping when Hopewell Chin’ono exposed their corruption forensically. By A Correspondent| Zanu PF has come guns blazing against the opposition MDC Alliance over its stance against government decision to postpone by-elections saying they already dominate both the lower and upper house hence not worried about delays.
Addressing the media Saturday morning, party spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa said they by-elections were not an issue to them, telling MDC Alliance to desist from claiming that the ruling party influence the recent ban on by-elections.
“However, the party makes it categorically clear that the by-elections are not even an issue of much interest as the Party already dominates the representation in Parly. the Opposition should therefore desist from claiming that the Party is influencing the delay,” said Chinamasa.
The minister of health and child care Constantino Chiwenga recently enacted Statutory Instrument 225 of 2020 which effectively banned by-elections until the COVID-19 pandemic declaration has been removed.
The move attracted condemnation from the opposition who felt it was meant to suppress opposition views in parliament.

By A Correspondent- Eighty families at Badminton Farm in Nyamandlovu were on Tuesday left stranded after the Sheriff of the High Court razed down their homes in the latest wrangle over the ownership of the land.
According to the villagers, the demolitions started in 2016 when Badminton Block Company, represented by Luke Siziba, obtained a default judgment at the High Court in Bulawayo, ordering the now more than 400 families to vacate the land.
The families were allocated the land in 2011 by Chief Deli Mabhena who claimed the land was under his jurisdiction.
The Badminton Block Company, through its lawyers, argued that the area is private land and challenged the legality of Chief Deli as an authority to allocate land.
The villagers contend that the A1 farm was gazetted in 2001 and is therefore government property.
Lawyers from Mutatu, Masamvu and Da-Silva Gustavo Law Chamber, who are representing the villagers said they would challenge the latest demolitions, which were carried out without the requisite seven days’ notice period.
I am not sure whether I should thank you or rather rebuke you. Why? because I don’t know whether what you did was a kind gesture or an act of mockery.
I saw a picture of miserable teachers queing for a 10kg packet of meali-meal, 2l cooking oil and a chunk of meat.
To me it is nothing more than an introduction to grocery, which barely lasts a week for a family of 6.
My question now is are you going to pay School fees for these teachers? Are you going to buy them medication?Are you going to buy them clothes?
The teachers were visibly dressed in bale clothes. Another question is are you going to do this every week, every month every year?
If not then you are a bad joke. It is common knowledge that you hold one “O” level pass, an ample testimony that you despised teachers since childhood. What do you think other teachers from other schools are surviving on.
Are you going to give them something? Do you know that we have teachers paying rentals of 50US per room ? If not then be informed. Educators have children too at universities, colleges and Schools, so can you cater for their needs? All of them?
My advice to you is consult these teachers for extra- lessons so that maybe you may attain 5 “O” levels and reason better, no wonder why ZANU pf gave you marching orders, you were a bad joke among the jokers.
Incapacitation is not a choice but an involuntary situation that was brought out by pathetic salaries. I challenge you to make a budget of a family of 6 and tell me if the 4000 Zw is a justifiable salary.
Hope you will see this letter and open your eyes wider and stop spewing bile on the teachers’ miserable conditions.
Again our President is yet to prove if he is a listening president or he will never leave any palatable history like Mugabe, so we may put his pictures everywhere as you suggest but that does not bring food on the table.

By A Correspondent| Independent Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has angered MDC Alliance supporters after he appeared to set an agenda for MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe who was on Wednesday sworn in as a Member of Parliament under questionable circumstances.
Khupe’s return to parliament has attracted backlash from MDC Alliance who accuse of shamelessly accepting to replace recalled legislators from the party to which she contested against in the 2018 general elections.
Mliswa said it refreshing that Khupe had returned to parliament where he said she made a name for herself pushing cancer issues.
“It was refreshing to see @DrThoko_Khupe in Parly this week. She’s certainly a woman with capacity. It’s no coincidence seeing her back during the month of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth. Her advocacy on cancer had been missing&we welcome it &her participation in other matters back,” said Mliswa.
By A Correspondent- A citizen living with albinism was denied entry into a TM supermarket in Masvingo after they expressed reservations on using the available sanitiser at the shop’s entrance.
This was revealed by Zanu Pf member of parliament Emma Ncube while pleading with parliament to consider the plight of people living with disability especially during this Covid-19 era.
Ncube told parliament that the citizen living with albinism was denied entry and told that they could not buy from the shop because they had refused to sanitise their hands using the available sanitiser.
Said Ncube:
……we have many disabled people and they are disabled in different ways. We are facing a challenge of COVID-19 and disabled people are facing a very difficult time.
During the first 21 days of lockdown, noone was able to move even the able bodied ones could not leave their homes. The people who were affected most are the disabled people. They could not find food from anywhere.
We were expecting that the Ministry of Public Service would first consider the people with disability because these people are not able to help themselves at all. The Ministry was not able to do that.
The small to medium enterprises sector were being considered more than the disabled people. This is something which surprised us and we are not happy because we are not following the laws which we agreed in the country and other countries, the conventional laws.
The able bodied benefited first compared to the disabled, we were expecting and we are still expecting that these people must be given help by the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare like what was happening in the past so that they can have money to buy basic needs like mealie-meal, soap and pay school fees for their children.
There is another issue that came out a few weeks ago where these people were taken as useless people. This happened in Masvingo at TM shop when an albino person said I cannot use sanitizers because of my condition and he or she was told you are not able to buy.
– [HON. MEMBERS: Inaudible interjections.] – It is a disability which these people have but they must be treated like everyone else. Their skin is sensitive. She wanted to go into the shop and was told to sanitise her hands to be able to get into the shop but she refused to sanitise because her skin is sensitive. So she was refused entry into the shop.
Such behaviour is bad in our country that we deny a person their right to buy things to support his/her family because of the disability because their skin is different from others. We condemn such behaviour in this country.
We wish that people who do these things could be given a certain penalty because this is bad and this person is like that because of God not by will.
Still on the issue of the disabled people, most of them were now coming from the streets but now because of COVID, there are now many disabled people in the streets which is bad for their health. We are fighting for good health for these disabled people but we are doing nothing.
So I plead that the disabled people should be given help by the Government as compared to other people. They must be the first people to be given help by the Government whilst the able bodied come last because disabled people cannot help themselves.
There is another issue of the disabled people. Right now when we go to Public Hearings, we see that a disabled person is willing to attend the hearings so that they can air their views but because they do not have transport from point A to B, the person ends up staying at home and the person will not be able to air his/her thoughts.
Government must consider and analyse these issues. Yes, we know that in the past when food was distributed through the Public Service, here and there, they were given but a lot of the food was for the underprivileged.
For many months, these underprivileged were not getting any food. So how are they living? These issues must be resolved by our Government. Thank you

Harare magistrate Ngoni Nduna has remanded former Zanu PF Mashonaland Central Youth chairperson Godfrey Tsenengamu in custody to Monday for bail ruling.
Tsenengamu is facing charges of inciting public violence in contravention of section 187 (1)(a) or alternatively section 187 (1)(b) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
He was hauled to court after surrendering himself to the police on Friday morning.

Former Zanu PF Youth League political commissar, Godfrey Tsenengamu has chosen to be remanded in custody saying his security was jeopardised as unidentified men were always following him.
Tsenengamu who appeared before the courts this Saturday facing charges of inciting public violence made the remarks during police interviews.
He surrendered himself to the police after three months on the run. The incitement of public violence charges were levelled against him and many others after he allegedly said:
From July and beyond people will die as previously never witnessed in this country….and people will be beaten…levels of corruption will rise…
31 July was a day scheduled for the foiled 31 July anti-corruption protests following reports of grand corruption by some senior government officials.
HStv reports that prosecutors Lancelot Mutsokoti and Desire Chidanhire opposed the granting of bail to Tsengengamu saying he would abscond.
They called to the witness stand, Detective Assistant lnspector Clifford Mugaviri who argued for Tsenengamu’s continued detention saying he was likely to abscond since he is facing a serious offence.
Tsenengamu’s lawyer Harrison Nkomo told the court that Tsenengamu who is married, has four children and was never convicted before is a good candidate for bail.
By A Correspondent- The number of delegates to the Zanu-PF annual national people’s conference set to be held in Mashonaland Central province in December would be scaled down in line with COVID-19 guidelines, a party official has said.
The party’s administration director Dickson Dzora on Wednesday visited the provincial capital, Bindura, to assess potential venues for the province.
He said delegates would be reduced from the usual 7 000 to 9 000 people.
He, however, refused to disclose the actual number of delegates to attend this year’s annual jamboree.
“There are major decisions to be made, one of which is the number of delegates under COVID-19, the conference is normally attended by 7 000 to 9 000 delegates, but the provincial leadership is expected to make recommendations on how the figures should be cut in light of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Dzora said.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has relaxed COVID-19 restrictions after a decline in infections.
Mnangagwa’s deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, who is also Health minister, last week suspended the holding of by-elections citing COVID-19, but Zanu-PF has gone ahead with its primary elections in some constituencies.
Mnangagwa himself has been moving around the country where his gatherings attract large gatherings despite the safety concerns.
The host province is busy with preparations for district co-ordinating committee elections which have caused rifts in the party as candidates canvas for support for positions.
Stiff competition is mainly between Kazembe Kazembe and businessman James Makamba, who are fighting for the chairmanship.
Dzora said accreditation of delegates to the annual conference, which normally begins on October 1, was already behind schedule.
Kazembe said the province was ready to host the conference.
“We are very excited in hosting the conference and we cannot wait any longer,” he said.-Newsday

President Chamisa made the remarks at the funeral of MDC Alliance MP Hon Anna Myambo in Chitungwiza on Friday.
He took a swipe at Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa for using guns to silence dissenting voices.
Said President Chamisa:
Mnangagwa is using guns to suppress the will of the people.Mnangagwa has guns and we have the people.
Don’t be intimidated, Mnangagwa cannot arrest the whole nation.
In Zimbabwe everyone is prison, Mnangagwa himself is in prison.”
He added:
“(Thokozani) Khupe is playing with a snake.Wait and see you cannot play with a wild beast one day it will kill.Can you harness a snake’s eggs? It’s too risky – sadly that is what Khupe is doing.
Hon Myambo was a dedicated party cadre.This thing(recall) affected her.”

The councillors from Harare and Marondera, respectively, are Enock Mupamaonde, Size Vilela, Wonder Siliya, Chengetai Murova, Misheck Manyere, Charles Ngwena, Lovemore Makuwerere, Gilbert Hadebe, Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi, Simon Mapunzure, Charles Chidhagu, Keith Charumbira, Stephen Dhliwayo, Barnabas Ndira, and Runyowa Chihoma.
Representing the councillors, Mupamaonde said the MDC-T had no right to withdraw them from local government authorities since they were elected into office under MDC Alliance ticket. Mupamaonde said:
My co-applicants and I had neither received any correspondence nor advice from any person that we had been expelled from any political party.
We were never allowed to exercise our right to be heard. We only learnt of our purported expulsions through the declaration of vacancies.
They accuse Local government minister, July Moyo of “descended into a political arena” and making a judgment on a clearly contested matter.
The leadership has expelled Chamisa and recalled members who continue to show allegiance to him.

Announcing the development, the party’s Acting spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa said his party is asking for public views on how the function should be held.
He said:
“We welcome any suggestions from you in that regard; tell us how you think we should operate the day in regards of taking the message to every corner of the world that ‘sanctions are illegal,’ they should be removed unconditionally”
He added saying “Zimbabwe did not come through democracy and so the MDC will never run the country”.
He said:
“We should also let the world know that these sanctions were called for by the MDC.
Zimbabwe is a liberated country it did not come through the democracy.”

By A Correspondent- Opposition MDC Alliance has given greenlight to its members to participate in the MDC-T extraordinary congress scheduled for December to elect a successor to the late founding leader of the MDC Morgan Tsvangirai.
The party’s Secretary-General, Chalton Hwende told Daily News that members had a right to attend the Supreme Court sanctioned congress. He said:
As the MDC Alliance, we have realised that thousands of our members were asked by the Supreme Court to exercise their right to correct what went wrong in the MDC-T by holding an extraordinary congress to elect our late icon Morgan Tsvangirai’s successor. So, we have allowed them to be part of the process.
This is a right they were given by the courts and we will, therefore, not stop them from going there, they are free to participate in the extra-ordinary congress as ordered by the Supreme Court.
Hwende speaks when MDC-T interim Secretary-General, Douglas Mwonzora has hinted that embers who continued to show allegiance to Nelson Chamisa after the March Supreme Court ruling on the MDC leadership crisis were not welcome at the congress.
The reinstated MDC-T leadership has since March recalled dozens of legislators and councillors for ceasing to be members of the party and the recalled members have been barred from the congress.
Mwonzora recently said even Chamisa had ceased to be an MDC-T member the moment he said the MDC outfit was an extension or project of the ruling ZANU PF.
By A Correspondent- The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana has dismissed claims by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC) that Zimbabwe has lost approximately US$7 billion through corruption.
Mangwana did not give the correct figure which the country has lost but claimed that $7 billion was an exaggeration.
He was responding to a tweet by advocate Fadzayi Mahere, the national spokesperson of the opposition MDC Alliance who had insinuated that the administration led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa is not heartily fighting corruption.
Mahere, in response to Mangwana’s post which suggested that the abolition of corruption in local government authorities, most of them run by MDC Alliance, had posted:
The sordid corruption that has killed Zimbabwe is right at the top. Obadiah Moyo who looted Covid supplies walks free. Mupfumira who looted NSSA walks free. Over US$7bn was looted under Command Agriculture. Not to mention Drax & Covidgate. Where is ZACC? Zanu must stop looting.
Mangwana responded:
1-Obadiah Moyo and Prisca Mupfumira were fired and their matters are before the courts #Cleansing.
2-US$7 billion is just political hyperbole not underpinned by facts. That was proved in Parliament.
3-Govt of Zimbabwe did not lose a single cent in the Drax Corruption saga.
This comes after investigations by ZimLive and journalist Hopewell Chin’ono suggested that Zimbabwe could have lost over US$60 million in the Drax corruption saga.
Some have also said the way the corruption cases involving political elites in the country are being handled show the government’s lack of enthusiasm in dealing with the rot.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission says that the extended suspension of by-elections by the Minister of Health and Child Care Constantino Chiwenga in the country on health safety grounds is permissible as it is supported by provisions of the Constitution.
ZEC last month announced that all outstanding by elections should be held by the 5th of December .
However, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has banned the by-elections, on grounds of the risks these posed in spreading COVID-19.
ZEC chief elections officer Utoile Silaigwana, said: “The prolonged suspension of by-elections owing to the prevalence of the Covid-19 pandemic is a response to public health concerns and permissible in a democratic society in terms of section 86(2)(b) of the constitution.”
Section 86(2) (b) of the Constitution states that: “The fundamental rights and freedoms set out in this chapter must be exercised reasonably and with due regard for the rights and freedoms of other persons. The purpose of the limitation; in particular whether it is necessary in the interests of defence, public safety, public order, public morality, public health, regional or town planning, or the general public interest.”
But Silaigwana said all other electoral activities remained open.
“The commission would like to advise its stakeholders that its district and provincial offices will be open for all other electoral activities such as voter registration, voter education, voters’ roll inspection, registration transfer, preliminary delimitation issues,” he said.

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Deputy Governor Dr Kuphukile Mlambo views himself as a lucky and blessed man after surviving what he described as a hellish and nasty Covid-19 ordeal.
Dr Mlambo had to mourn the death of two close friends who also succumbed to the virus, one in Bulawayo and the other in Harare, in absentia, as he was holding on to dear life as the virus rocked his existence.
He said losing friends to Covid-19 at a time when it was threatening his life made him start seeing his own mortality, moments which he said brought him even closer to his creator and strengthened his faith.
He is back at work after a long break following his Covid-19 encounter, which he has described as a near death experience.
He picks up the story: “I do not know where I go it. I was following all the Covid-19 safety precautions. I was using sanitisers, and I was moving only between work and home daily. At work, we were only allowing a few people to report physically to the office, as part of our measures to decongest the workplace and help fight Covid-19. Most of our staff were working from home, even directors were rotating.”
He said Covid-19 was the last thing in his mind at the time.
“The encounter started on a Wednesday. I was feeling very cold. It was the last week of July. I had no energy. I called my doctor, however, I delayed as I was very busy, until Friday July 31. I came to the office, but I was unwell, and I went back home and slept all day. My wife says I was restless throughout that day I slept. I felt as if I had been immersed in an ice bucket. However, I was in self-denial, and I delayed taking a test till the following Wednesday. By the time I got tested I felt like I was in hell,” said Dr Mlambo.
He described his wife as his biggest heroine as she stood by him throughout his Covid-19 ordeal, risking getting infected herself.
“The Newlands Seventh Day Adventist church, where I fellowship with my family, came through and offered support. The Adventist men prayed for me and held virtual sessions for support. The governor acted quickly and organised a doctor to attend to me. My biggest hero is my wife, Beatrice, who was there the whole time.
“She prepared all sorts of concoctions and herbal remedies, the lemons, ginger, umsuzwane tea and many others. I drank them all. I had to do whatever was possible to cling to life. I steamed often. My experience with Covid-19 is not something I would want on anyone, not even my worst enemy,” said Dr Mlambo.
“I was in a state of confusion. I didn’t know what was happening around me most of the time although I now do get flash backs of some of the moments. The Thursday before Heroes’ holiday totally doesn’t exist in my memory. I was not sleeping well throughout. This thing nearly took my life. My wife was getting very worried. However, God’s grace and a dedicated family made it possible for me to live and tell my story,” said Dr Mlambo.
He said his condition was worsened by an underlying illness which he, however, preferred not to disclose.
Dr Mlambo said he was isolated at home and only confined to the bedroom and the balcony.
“My wife had to temporarily move out of our bedroom and use a guest room while I was sick, although she was the one taking care of me day and night. There were four of us at home; myself, Beatrice and our two children Lwandile and Thandolwethu, a girl. Thando was most worried, you know how girls are about their fathers. She was really concerned and having to stay away from me was taking a toll on her. She called me daily and we spoke on the phone, even if she was in the house, she couldn’t come to my end,” said Dr Mlambo.
He said his wife decided that he better be treated at home as it was possible to self-isolate and distance himself from everyone else.
“I spent more than five days on a drip. On Friday, two drips were administered on me. I had breathing difficulties, I was breathing heavily but by grace, I never needed a ventilator. I had so many blankets and water bottles, they were almost burning my skin, but still I felt very cold. The slightest relief was when I was in contact with the bottles filled with very hot water. I would shiver.”
“The grace of God, my dedicated family and my praying church led by Pastor Moyo and the elders gave me hope. My family worldwide, koBulawayo especially, all came through for me and constantly checked on how I was doing. The bank also acted very quickly to assist me and I am most grateful to the Governor, my colleagues and the rest of the staff at the central bank. “
He said losing friends when he was fighting for his own life was a rude awakening on the fragility of life.
“What also made my encounter with Covid-19 hard is that the week I was very sick, we lost Norman Mataruka, my friend, and I also lost a very close friend Sibangilizwe Ndlovu who worked at the United Nations, both to Covid-19. It was devastating and it made me wonder about my own fate with the virus. It took a toll on my mental health, it hit me hard. Some cousins around the world also succumbed to the virus and the news would filter in as I was also fighting my battle. It didn’t make things any easier for me. In that situation, you also start seeing your own mortality, that it can be you next in line, anytime,” he said.
He said it was a miracle that none of his family members contracted the virus from him when he was sick, but said it was a combination of discipline and grace.
Dr Mlambo said his firm foundation on his Adventist faith gave him hope during the most trying times of his life, and re-affirmed that family support was an integral part of someone’s healing process as it had a bearing on one feeling purposeful and wanted.
“My Adventist faith helped a lot. I just told myself that when God’s time has not come yet, it has not yet come and when it is God’s time, you cannot run away from it. Support systems are the most critical elements of the healing process. Dr Mangudya, the bank staff, the family, the church, friends all played their role to help me deal with the battle,” said Dr Mlambo.
“I appreciated their kind messages, at that time I did not want to be told to be strong, I wanted people to understand my pain, and encourage me to leave it to God. I wanted to hear the kind of messages that did not minimise the pain, but understood the pain,” he added.
“I urge all people to take this pandemic seriously. Covid-19 is real. I myself had a nasty experience with it. Please, take all the necessary precautions to ensure your safety. Do not let your guard down, especially if you have pre-existing conditions. It is no walk in the park. Take all the precautions, rely on your faith, and family. You need those support systems.”
Dr Mlambo said he hopes sharing his experience with the virus will encourage other Zimbabweans to take the virus seriously and to heed the advice of health experts on how to conduct themselves.
He said he also hoped to contribute to ongoing efforts meant to do away with the stigma surrounding the virus.
“I encourage companies to allow people to continue working from home wherever possible, even if lockdown rules have been relaxed, health comes first. I thank the bank, especially the HR and the Governor for the precautions that they have put since then. People must work from home as much as possible. We have over 500 people at the bank, but our Covid-19 count is low,” said Dr Mlambo.

PHILLIP Chiyangwa, the deposed Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman, used US$200 000 meant to capitalise a Namibian joint-venture company to buy a posh sports car and expensive furnishings for his sprawling $6,4 billion Borrowdale mansion, documents to hand reveal. Despite spirited rebuttals by the embattled businessman that he did not misappropriate funds for the failed Crittal Hope Namibia (CHN) last week, information at hand shows that Chiyangwa used N$1 093 713 (the equivalent of US$200 000) through various withdrawals from Standard Bank Gustav Voigts branch in Windhoek, Namibia.
The spending ran from August 2002 to October 2003 where Chiyangwa made various cheque payments to, among others, DaimlerChrysler SA, Randburg Motor Link, Italian Lights and Furniture, Chris Carpets, and Casa Italia.
He paid Daimler and Motor Link nearly N$700 000, while the other payments amounted to an accumulative N$166 904.
The flamboyant businessman also wrote a N$80 000 cheque in favour of LN Valetti on September 2 2002 and another one in his name with a face value of N$59 000.
On July 4 2001, Chiyangwa allegedly elbowed out fellow CHN director and co-signatory Sebil Dhewa to emerge the sole account manager.
The account issue is now a matter of debate between Dhewa, Chiyangwa’s Zimbabwean lawyers Byron Venturas and Zimbabwean regulatory authorities, excerpts of which are carried in Dhewa’s letter to Chiyangwa’s lawyers yesterday.
Dhewa’s letter came after Chiyangwa’s lawyers had rebuked him for propagating what they claimed were falsehoods about their client’s business conduct.
Wrote Dhewa: “As director of CHN, I owe fiduciary responsibility to the company and, therefore, my comments about the various allegations you make will be guided by this responsibility.
“The registered office of the company was my business’s physical address and hence I became aware of the transactions relating to CHN. Given directors liability, it became incumbent upon me to ensure that all transactions were conducted in accordance with the laws of the country.”
Dhewa also said in clearing Chiyangwa, he was not sure whether the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe had consulted the Namibian Central Bank “to ensure that the aforesaid transactions are regularised”.
He also emphasised that CHN was a Namibian-domiciled company and, therefore, he had to ensure it complied with Namibian laws.
Byron Venturas had written to Dhewa on March 14 demanding that he retract comments made to Nathan Mariemuthu of Africa Resources Ltd (ARL), a holding company of CHN’s Namibian management contractor Africa Resources Project Services (ARPS).
The lawyers claim to be in possession of an e-mail written to the ARL executive.
“We wish to advise you that the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has cleared our client of any acts of impropriety,” Chiyangwa’s lawyers said. “In the circumstances we would request a full, unequivocal and public retraction of the contents of your e-mail.”
Last week Reserve Bank governor Gideon Gono said Chiyangwa was in the process of repatriating funds to Zimbabwe. He said the outstanding foreign currency should be regularised by the end of the month. He said Chiyangwa still had to explain how he used the money.
The lawyers said Chiyangwa had cancelled forthwith the management agreement between ARPS and himself, citing infidelity
Chiyangwa is now demanding N$5 million from Dhewa for damages arising from alleged “defamatory remarks”.
Byron Venturas also demanded that Dhewa return company documentation, especially accounting and electronic correspondence, relating to the joint venture since inception.
A recalcitrant Dhewa, however, said he was unable to return documents belonging to a Namibian entity and “at law” the property of CHN.
“I face personal liability in Namibia and you are not suggesting that I will be indemnified in the event the authorities here decide to pursue the matter.
“Given the interest in the matter by the police in Zimbabwe, I am not sure what approach your client wishes me to take as a director of CHN,” Dhewa wrote to Chiyangwa’s lawyers yesterday.
Chiyangwa, meanwhile, is said to be making steady progress towards repatriating the US$200 000 largesse he spirited to Namibia under the guise of forging an alliance with Namibia Northern Investment Group.
The venture was to manufacture construction materials and equipment, including window frames.
His Native Investment Africa Group was to be the technical partner, providing plant machinery and other necessities.

Nigeria’s leading celebrities and activists have organized mass protests across major cities in the country Friday demanding an end to police brutality in the country.
The nationwide protests were a culmination of weeks of anger and outcry online by the country’s young people over claims of kidnapping, harassment and extortion by a police unit known as the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
On Thursday, a protest was led in Lagos Island by Folarin Falana, a lawyer and singer, and Runtown, an artist known by that stage name.
They were also joined by Nigeria’s biggest female performer, Tiwa Savage.
Falana, who is popularly known as Falz, told CNN it was important for him to march because there have been “too many numerous incidents of harassment, extortion and police brutality,” in the country. He added that he, too, had been a victim of harassment at the hands of the Nigerian police.
“People have been posting online about it for years, but it has been the same sluggish attitude and response to it. Nothing has changed and people keep on being harassed. That’s why we have taken to the streets and we want the government to listen,” he said.
“I am marching for the ones that are not recognized. We are surprised by the numbers that came out and we are prepared to march again,” he added.
Protests continue into the night
Overnight protests were also held in Lagos mainland Thursday outside the Lagos State Assembly as organizers carried placards and knelt down, chanting ‘End SARS.’
A group of protesters, led by Debo Adebayo, a comedian by the stage name of Mr Macaroni, held a protest vigil, running into the third night in a row, in Alausa, Lagos.
Videos from the protesters shared on Twitter Thursday night showed police officers forcefully dispersing the protesters, dismantling their sleeping tents, turning off the street lights and making verbal threats.
Nigeria’s police force had responded to the public outcry last Sunday by banning the unit from carrying out any stop-and-search activities.
SARS, as well as other tactical police units, are now prohibited from “carrying out routine patrols and other conventional low-risk. duties — stop and search duties, checkpoints, mounting of roadblocks, traffic checks, etc — with immediate effect,” Nigeria police chief Mohammed Adamu said on Sunday in a statement.
“Voices and complaints on the issues of unprofessional conducts by some SARS operatives have been heard very loudly and clearly,” the statement read.
Feyikemi Abudu was among the protesters outside the Lagos State Assembly in Ikeja on Friday. She told CNN their demands were presented to the assembly, which held an emergency session Friday to listen to their demands.
“There are many demands, but the main one is to scrap SARS, not to reform it but to completely end it. Another demand is compensation for victims of SARS brutality, both alive and dead. We also want a committee that will investigate and look into the present and past grievances around SARS brutality, ” Abudu said.
Abudu also told CNN she has raised 1.3 million naira (about $3,390) to buy food for those protesting and for medical treatment for those injured during the protests.
Media personality Toke Makinwa was also among those who protested. “People are constantly calling my show with reports of harassment,” she said.
“One man told me they pulled his phone and searched his banking app, they took him to an ATM to withdraw money for them. Nigeria has reduced its citizens to doing everything by themselves. SARS should not be one of the problems we have to face. You are supposed to be anti-robbery but we are afraid of you. People who are meant to protect are the ones oppressing us.”
CNN put this and other allegations to the Nigerian police force, and Lagos state spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi said that all complaints against its officers are carefully investigated and appropriate sanctions applied to offenders.
Adejobi added that many people rarely report the abuses because they fear that they may not get justice. He encouraged people affected by police misconduct to report the abuses.
‘A lack of political will’
The police say that the ban on the SARS unit is one of many steps towards reforming the outfit.
However, this ban is not the first time authorities in Nigeria have censured the SARS unit.
In 2018, the country’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, while deputizing for the President who was out of the country on vacation at the time, ordered the unit to be overhauled. In January 2019, the police announced another ban on the same police unit.
But the human rights organization Amnesty Nigeria says not much has changed since these bans were put in place.
“A similar ban on SARS did not end police brutality because it appeared the bans were simply done to assuage the swelling public anger at the time of the announcement and not intended to end police brutality,” Amnesty Nigeria’s program manager, Seun Bakare, said.
In an email to CNN, he said as a result of past campaigns, some reforms like “the passage of the anti-torture act 2017, the signing of the new police act” and other minor amendments have been passed.
The anti-torture act of 2017, for example, is supposed to protect Nigerians, including suspects and detainees from torture and inhumane treatment. However, there seems to be a lack of political will to enforce these laws, Bakare said.
‘Nothing will happen if I shoot you,’
The hashtag #EndSARS, #StopPolicebrutality has continued to trend on Twitter as young people shared their stories, photos and videos that they allege show men in Nigeria police uniforms searching their cars and harassing them.
Lagos-based entrepreneur Samuel Otigba told CNN he has had several encounters with members of the police that he believes to be from the SARS unit. He said the encounters usually begin with requests for bribes. Otigba alleges that in May, he got into trouble because he declined to give a bribe to one of the officers when he was stopped after an evening out with his wife.

The MDC Alliance Secretary General Chalton Hwende has for himself on the firing line after he called on Zimbabweans to vote for musician Jah Prayzah for an international award.
Jah Prayzah is the brand of not only the Zimbabwe National Army but the fraudulent 2017 coup. Prayzah is also the author of Emmerson Mnangagwa’s personal anthem, “Mudhara Wacho Uchauya, Shumba Yacho Inoruma, – the Big Man Is Coming After You This Lion Will Bite You,” which is played at all Mnangagwa’s functions.
Most Zimbabweans opt rather for Winky D, Prayzah’s opposite, who is well known for writing songs that encourage the suffering masses against brutality. He has also been tortured while on stage for authoring songs such as “Jecha” and “Njema.”
In a Twitter post which has been widely condemned, Hwende called on Zimbabweans to put political differences aside and vote for the musician who is a favourite at ZANU PF functions.

In the last 24 hours I have seen loads of people tweeting about that singer Jah Prayzah who apparently got nominated for some international ward that requires a public vote of some sort.
Jah Prayzah is said to be appealing for Zimbabwean people to vote for him so that he wins this award and subsequently get a bigger head than the one he already has.
But this is a guy who is silent about the evils of this Zanu PF government. Not only that, he sings at their jamborees where they celebrate their ill gotten power with no sense of self awareness at all. He was also silent during the #ZimbabweanlivesMatter campaign. He is not a man of the people.
I will go on and say any so called celebrity in Zimbabwe that does not publicly criticize Zanu PF’s systematic destruction of Zimbabwe is an enabler of fascism.
There are many of them, we all know them. Now if these ‘celebrities’ are not echoing the cries of the masses then their celebrity is pointless to us the masses. If we the masses are easily suckered in by such pointless celebrities then we are also part of the problems.
This is why Zimbabweans should stop giving attention to these Zanu enablers. These people are laughing on our faces and we keep getting dazzled by whatever it is that they sell to us.
If you want Zimbabwe to get rid of Zanu PF and become a proper country where things work and where people are treated like human beings, you contradict yourself when you give attention to people like Jah Prayzah.
Until the day he says Zanu PF must go, Jah Prayzah will not be getting my vote nor my attention.

The estate of the late music icon Oliver Mtukudzi will soon be distributed after his family approached the Master of the High Court to start the process.
The family, through its lawyers Mhishi Nkomo Legal Practice, placed a legal notice for the inspection of the late musician’s estate for 21 days starting yesterday.
“In the estate of the late Oliver Mtukudzi of Harare who died at Harare on January 23, 2019. Notice is hereby given that the first and final liquidation and or distribution account in the above estate will lie for inspection for a period of 21 days as from the 9th day of October 2020 at the office of Master of the High Court, Harare. Should no objections be lodged with the Master within the period of inspection, payments will be made in accordance therewith,” reads the notice.
In May 2019, the Master of the High Court jointly appointed the widow to the late superstar, Daisy, and another family member — Vennah Muchakagara — as executors to the estate. Daisy and Muchakagara were appointed following an edict meeting during which family members unanimously agreed to have the pair as executors. At least 15 family members attended the edict meeting that was presided over by the Additional Master responsible for Deceased Estates, Kumbirai Chigomararwa.
Among the family members were Daisy, Tuku’s daughters, sisters, and other relatives who agreed on two executors for transparency.
Mtukudzi left behind a will and appointed Chibune & Associates as executor, but the parties settled for the two family members considering that the law firm in question was now defunct. The will was read out in the meeting and no objections were immediately raised. Family members did not contest the fact that Tuku left behind a wife, Daisy, and four daughters. The Master’s Office accepted the will for administrative purposes.
Mtukudzi died at the age of 66.
He had recorded 67 albums, winning several awards over a period spanning nearly 40 years.

Brigadier-General Sambulo Ndlovu, who died in Harare on Tuesday and was buried in Bulawayo on Thursday, has been declared a national hero.
This was announced by Bulawayo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Judith Ncube at the Ndlovu residence yesterday.
Minister Ncube said President Mnangagwa saw it befitting to honour Brig-Gen Ndlovu for his sacrifice for the liberation of the country.
Brig-Gen Ndlovu, whose Chimurenga name was Stanley Hlayibeni, died at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals from a Covid-19 related ailment.
“The President and First Secretary of Zanu PF Cde E.D. Mnangagwa, has conferred a post-humous national hero status to the late Brigadier-General (Retired) Sambulo Ndlovu who died on the 6th of October, 2020.
“I shall be most grateful if you would make the payments of benefits to his dependants,” said Minister Ncube.
In his condolence message, the President described the death of Brig-Gen Ndlovu as a shock, as the nation was still mourning the death of late national hero Brig-Gen Ruphus Chigudu.
“On behalf of the party Zanu PF, Government and the people of Zimbabwe, my family and indeed my own behalf, I wish to convey my sincere condolences to the Ndlovu family, especially to his wife Sarah and children who have lost a loving husband, father and pillar of strength,” said the President.
“May they rest assured of our prayers and full support during this darkest hour of need. The passing on of Brig-Gen Ndlovu was not their loss alone, but a loss to the nation of Zimbabwe.”
President Mnangagwa said Brig-Gen Ndlovu’s political activism and participation in the liberation struggle were both admirable and exemplary.
“The late Brig-Gen got involved in nationalist politics in the early 1970s as a militant young man, mobilising his generation for our national independence.
“Under the auspices of Zapu, he demonstrated admirable courage, bravery and patriotism by recruiting young men and women in Bulawayo area and taking them to Botswana en-route to Zambia to receive military training.”
Brig-Gen Ndlovu received his military training in Zambia and the then Soviet Union where he specialised in communications and was posted to the northern front in the then Rhodesia where he directed guerrilla warfare as a communications commander in the Zipra High Command.
“After his attestation into the Zimbabwe National Army, the late Brig-Gen Ndlovu served the country as a military officer with utmost loyalty and professionalism,” said President Mnangagwa.
“He rose through the ranks from general officer to Brigadier-General, a position he held until his retirement from military service in February this year.”
Brig-Gen Ndlovu received the Independence Medal, Liberation Medal, the Service Medal, the Long and Exemplary Service Medal, the Mozambique Campaign Medal, the DRC Campaign Medal and the Zimbabwe Order of Merit Award.
Brig-Gen Ndlovu was buried at Lady Stanley Cemetery.

Tsenengamu who was part of the people mobilising towards the July 31 anti-corruption protest is being charged with inciting public violence, the same offence facing MDC Alliance deputy Chairperson Job Sikhala, journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and opposition leader Jacob Ngarivhume.
“The ZRP confirms that Godfrey Tsenengamu is in Police custody and will appear in court on 10th October 2020 in relation to incitement to commit public violence charges as defined in Section 187(1) (a) as read with section 37 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 09:23,” the police said.
Tsenengamu is likely to spend the weekend behind bars as was the case with his colleagues who appeared in court on Saturday and had their bail hearings deferred to Monday.
More than 150 illegal settlers have invaded the 3 467 hectare citrus farm near Chinhoyi owned by businessman and Zanu PF Zvimba South legislator Cde Philip Chiyangwa.
Cde Chiyangwa said in an interview that the illegal settlers remained on the farm in defiance of a recent court order and were building structures and clearing land in preparation for the 2020-21 farming season.
“We have taken the matter to the courts and the invaders have been served with notices of vacation,” he said. “A security company dealing with the invaders will help remove the invaders from the farm.”
Recently, leaders in Makonde district, which has seen a lot of illegal settlers turning grazing land and conservancy areas into farming land, convened a meeting where they agreed to thwart the invasions.
Makonde district development coordinator Mr Benjamin Zivanai recently said the invasions that have been witnessed in the district had either led to the injuries after clashes or arrests. The meeting saw district heads from police, Environment Management Agency and Mining and Lands ministries deliberate on the moves needed to avoid any future invasions and clashes.

The pictures circulated day following a decision by the council to demolish illegal structures built on land that had not been approved for residential development.
“Chitungwiza Municipality is not demolishing anything of this sort at the moment. These pictures are circulating on social media and what is portrayed is far from the truth,” the municipalty said.
There was a social media outcry pertaining to the circulating pictures with people attacking the Chitungwiza municipality for being inhuman.
By CHRA Mabvuku| Tragedy struck in Mabvuku Tafara over the weekend as two people died in two separate incidents involving wells.
In Mabvuku a man died and his friend was taken to hospital after a well collapsed on him as they were scooping mud in an attempt to deepen the well.
Efforts to rescue him proved fruitless as bricks from wall had piled on him. The deceased is yet to be buried as the family awaits postmortem results.
The young man who was helping him has since been released from hospital after being treated for shock.
In another bizzare incident a child fell into a well in Tafara while playing. It is alleged that other kids were present as the child opened the cover of the well to peep and fell into the well. Though the incident occurred in Tafara mourners were gathered in Mabvuku at the child’s grand parents. The child was buried at Tafara cemetry on Monday.
WARRIORS talisman, Khama Billiat, could become the latest key player to miss the international friendly match against the Flames in Blantyre on Sunday.
The 30-year-old Kazier Chiefs star was scheduled to undergo another Covid-19 test, yesterday, which meant he could not fly into Harare as scheduled.
“Khama has, since early today (yesterday) been trying to secure a flight straight from Johannesburg to Malawi and got a seat on one, which will take him to Lilongwe,’’ sources said.
“He has been trying to find the best way he can travel from Lilongwe to Blantyre, even if it means hiring a car, for someone to take him where the game will be played.
“He has been taking regular Covid-19 tests, as per his team’s requirements, and the latest one was supposed to be yesterday when the team was finally named.
“Remember, the situation regarding the team has been fluid and no one was so sure that they would be included, in the final squad, or whether some changes were going to be made.
“Even the game itself was hanging in the balance until today and that has complicated issues a bit for some of the players who need to be guided by their club protocols in terms of how and when they should take such tests.’’
The Warriors will cap off a chaotic week of preparations when they take a 600km road trip to Blantyre today.
The match, which hung in the balance for most of the week because of delays in securing permission from authorities, was only confirmed on Wednesday evening by the Sports and Recreation Commission.
The road trip usually takes about eight to 10 hours.

The Croat named a weaker 18-member squad yesterday, including nine home-based players, after failing to secure the services of the majority of his foreign-based stars, including skipper Knowledge Musona.
ZIFA spokesperson, Xolisani Gwesela, said they had no option but to take the road trip after they failed to secure flights to Malawi.
“The team will leave early in the morning tomorrow (today) by road. We had wanted the best for our team but the only option available, at this juncture, was to go by road,’’ said Gwesela.
“There are no flights to Malawi. It’s difficult travelling because of the Covid-19 restrictions.”
The ZIFA spokesperson said the chaos, which characterised the countdown to the international friendly match,was because of the late clearance they received from authorities.ZIFA have been accused of sending their application, for clearance, as late as last Friday.
However, the football authorities insist they sent their paperwork to the Sports Commission within the stipulated time.
“We sent our request to the SRC well in advance and they have in their possession the various correspondences which we sent to them, reminding them about this tour,” said Gwesela.
“The (squad) list would have been announced before the commencement of the international break, as is the norm, but the announcement had to be delayed until we had clearance from Government to travel to Malawi.
“The Government approved our request to travel to play Malawi on (Wednesday) 7 October 2020.
“Due to travel embargoes in place because of the Covid-19 pandemic, some players from abroad whom the coach wished to assess will not make it for this match.
“Consequently, the technical team incorporated nine locally-based players into the team, with one eye on the upcoming 2021 African Nations Championship.’’
Logarusic had wanted to travel with his best foreign-based players for this match to prepare for next month’s back-to-back AFCON qualifiers against Algeria.
The coach had wanted to see the likes of Musona, Marshall Munetsi, Tino Kadewere, Tendayi Darikwa, Adam Chicksen, Jordan Zemura, Victor Kamhuka, Macauley Bonne, Kundai Benyu, Prince Dube and goalkeeper Martin Mapisa.
However, a number of letters inviting the targeted players were either sent late or ended up at the wrong clubs.
Munetsi’s French club, Stade Reims, wrote to ZIFA telling them he would not be released because their request came late.
The Warriors have no team manager, and this has compounded the situation.
The technical team were forced to pluck from Zambia the likes of Takudzwa Chimwemwe of Buildcon, Jimmy Dzingai (Nkana) and new boy Tanaka Chinyahara from Red Arrows.
But, half the squad is made up of locally-based players who haven’t played a competitive game this year and there are genuine concerns about their match fitness.
The players are likely to conduct light workout tomorrow and Logarusic is aware of the huge challenge that awaits him.
Gwesela said the local players will be tested for Covid-19 before mingling with their foreign-based counterparts.
“Everyone is going to be tested for Covid-19 so that we minimise the chances of spreading the disease in the camp,’’ said Gwesela.
“Results take two hours to process. The players will only assemble after they have seen their results.”
In contrast to the mayhem in the Warriors, Malawi have been in camp for the past week and even forked out US$24 500 to charter a plane to Zambia for their other friendly match on Tuesday.
The Flames will travel to Burkina Faso for their 2021 AFCON qualifier by a charter plane next month.

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Deputy Governor Dr Kuphukile Mlambo views himself as a lucky and blessed man after surviving what he described as a hellish and nasty Covid-19 ordeal.
Dr Mlambo had to mourn the death of two close friends who also succumbed to the virus, one in Bulawayo and the other in Harare, in absentia, as he was holding on to dear life as the virus rocked his existence.
He said losing friends to Covid-19 at a time when it was threatening his life made him start seeing his own mortality, moments which he said brought him even closer to his creator and strengthened his faith.
He is back at work after a long break following his Covid-19 encounter, which he has described as a near death experience.
He picks up the story: “I do not know where I go it. I was following all the Covid-19 safety precautions. I was using sanitisers, and I was moving only between work and home daily. At work, we were only allowing a few people to report physically to the office, as part of our measures to decongest the workplace and help fight Covid-19. Most of our staff were working from home, even directors were rotating.”
He said Covid-19 was the last thing in his mind at the time.
“The encounter started on a Wednesday. I was feeling very cold. It was the last week of July. I had no energy. I called my doctor, however, I delayed as I was very busy, until Friday July 31. I came to the office, but I was unwell, and I went back home and slept all day. My wife says I was restless throughout that day I slept. I felt as if I had been immersed in an ice bucket. However, I was in self-denial, and I delayed taking a test till the following Wednesday. By the time I got tested I felt like I was in hell,” said Dr Mlambo.
He described his wife as his biggest heroine as she stood by him throughout his Covid-19 ordeal, risking getting infected herself.
“The Newlands Seventh Day Adventist church, where I fellowship with my family, came through and offered support. The Adventist men prayed for me and held virtual sessions for support. The governor acted quickly and organised a doctor to attend to me. My biggest hero is my wife, Beatrice, who was there the whole time.
“She prepared all sorts of concoctions and herbal remedies, the lemons, ginger, umsuzwane tea and many others. I drank them all. I had to do whatever was possible to cling to life. I steamed often. My experience with Covid-19 is not something I would want on anyone, not even my worst enemy,” said Dr Mlambo.
“I was in a state of confusion. I didn’t know what was happening around me most of the time although I now do get flash backs of some of the moments. The Thursday before Heroes’ holiday totally doesn’t exist in my memory. I was not sleeping well throughout. This thing nearly took my life. My wife was getting very worried. However, God’s grace and a dedicated family made it possible for me to live and tell my story,” said Dr Mlambo.
He said his condition was worsened by an underlying illness which he, however, preferred not to disclose.
Dr Mlambo said he was isolated at home and only confined to the bedroom and the balcony.
“My wife had to temporarily move out of our bedroom and use a guest room while I was sick, although she was the one taking care of me day and night. There were four of us at home; myself, Beatrice and our two children Lwandile and Thandolwethu, a girl. Thando was most worried, you know how girls are about their fathers. She was really concerned and having to stay away from me was taking a toll on her. She called me daily and we spoke on the phone, even if she was in the house, she couldn’t come to my end,” said Dr Mlambo.
“I appreciated their kind messages, at that time I did not want to be told to be strong, I wanted people to understand my pain, and encourage me to leave it to God. I wanted to hear the kind of messages that did not minimise the pain, but understood the pain,” he added.
“I urge all people to take this pandemic seriously. Covid-19 is real. I myself had a nasty experience with it. Please, take all the necessary precautions to ensure your safety. Do not let your guard down, especially if you have pre-existing conditions. It is no walk in the park. Take all the precautions, rely on your faith, and family. You need those support systems.”
Dr Mlambo said he hopes sharing his experience with the virus will encourage other Zimbabweans to take the virus seriously and to heed the advice of health experts on how to conduct themselves.
He said he also hoped to contribute to ongoing efforts meant to do away with the stigma surrounding the virus.
“I encourage companies to allow people to continue working from home wherever possible, even if lockdown rules have been relaxed, health comes first. I thank the bank, especially the HR and the Governor for the precautions that they have put since then. People must work from home as much as possible. We have over 500 people at the bank, but our Covid-19 count is low,” said Dr Mlambo.

By A Correspondent| MDC Alliance legislator for Harare West, Joana Mamombe was yesterday pictured outside the Harare Magistrates Court protesting against the incarceration of ZINASU President Takudzwa Ngadziore who has been in custody since the 18th of September.
Mamombe met Ngadziore at Chikurubi Maximum Prison before she was released following a High Court judgement nullifying her detention.
Following her release, Mamombe appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court for her routine remand and on her way out, she held a placard demanding the release of Ngadziore.
CHIEF Musarurwa of Chivhu has blocked villagers from naming a road in rural Hokonya area after former First Lady Grace Mugabe, arguing that proper procedures were not followed.
The villagers had resolved on their own to honour Grace by naming a seven-kilometre gravel road which leads to her family’s homestead in Ndwere village off the Chivhu-Murambinda Road, as Grace Way.
But Chief Musarurwa (Enos Masakwa) said if the villagers wanted to name the road, there were certain procedures which had to be followed and processed through Cabinet.
“There is no such road named Grace Way in Chivhu. As far as I know, no Cabinet sat and resolved to name it that way. Do not mislead citizens by issuing out names that are not approved by the government,” he said.
A villager, Andrew Mazhawidza, said: “The road was named after Grace by villagers some two decades ago when she got married to the now late former President Robert Mugabe. It was a prestigious marriage in this community, hence the road to her homestead became very popular.”
The road passes through Madondo Primary School, a few metres from the Marufu homestead as it proceeds to St Francis of Assisi High School, where Grace was a patron during the time she was First Lady. Apart from the gravel road which villagers had named in her honour, no other institution or place has been named after the once powerful Grace in her rural home.

High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda has dismissed an application filed by recalled MDC Alliance MPs seeking his recusal from presiding over a case they are contesting their dismissal from Parliament by the MDC-T party.
MDC Alliance secretary general Charlton Hwende, Lilian Timveos, Prosper Mutseyami and Thabita Khumalo had filed an application asking Kwenda to step down from the case since he has presided over a similar case of 14 other recalled MDC Alliance MPs.
They filed the application through their lawyer MDC Alliance Vice president Tendai Biti.
Kwenda rejected the application , saying “I do not see the application or relevance of the ‘no-one is judge in his own cause’ rule to this matter.
He added that he was not persuaded that the applicants had shown that there was a sound basis for his recusal from this case.
“To withdraw from a case merely because a party suggests that a judge do so impairs judicial fairness. It allows parties to cherry-pick a bench of their choice,” Kwenda said.
The four were recalled from Parliament by the MDC-T for supporting the MDC-Alliance.
The MDC-T MPs were recalled this year by Thokozani Khupe led MDC-T party after the Supreme Court controversially ruled that Chamisa was not the legitimate leader of the opposition party left by late leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
Khupe accused them of supporting Nelson Chamisa together with other MDC Alliance MPs, Councillors and Senators hence they were recalled.
The Supreme Court ruling has since been criticised by analysts who argued that it meant to destroy the main opposition.
Despite the fact that Khupe was rejected by the electorate in 2018 elections when she “garnered a measly 45,000 votes” she was Wednesday sworn by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration as leader of opposition in Parliament.
In the 2018 presidential election Chamisa was narrowly and controversially defeated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, winning 44,3% of the vote to his 50,8%. But Khupe who came a distant third with 3,42% has been established as leader of the opposition.
Observers blamed Mnangagwa for working with Khupe and the MDC-T secretary general Douglas Mwonzora to create a one party state led by Zanu PF.

Sixteen MDC Alliance councillors who were recalled by the MDC-T led by Thokozani Khue have approached the High Court seeking an order to reverse the recalls.
The councillors from Harare and Marondera, respectively, are Enock Mupamaonde, Size Vilela, Wonder Siliya, Chengetai Murova, Misheck Manyere, Charles Ngwena, Lovemore Makuwerere, Gilbert Hadebe, Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi, Simon Mapunzure, Charles Chidhagu, Keith Charumbira, Stephen Dhliwayo, Barnabas Ndira, and Runyowa Chihoma.
Representing the councillors, Mupamaonde said the MDC-T had no right to withdraw them from local government authorities since they were elected into office under MDC Alliance ticket.

We were never allowed to exercise our right to be heard. We only learnt of our purported expulsions
through the declaration of vacancies.

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has said the Government will not be arm-twisted by striking teachers into succumbing to their demands, saying only those reporting for duty will be paid.
Teacher representatives are calling for a minimum salary of US$520 or the equivalent at the auction rate.
However, the Government has indicated that it is not in a position to pay in US dollars given that the local currency has been reintroduced.
Government gave all examination classes the nod to resume a fortnight ago, but the reopening of schools has been marred by the teachers’ industrial action, forcing some schools to send pupils back home.
Speaking during a briefing in Mutare on Wednesday, the President said there was no going back in ensuring the smooth flow of lessons in schools.
“I have heard that after schools reopened in Manicaland, only 30 percent of teachers have reported for duty. Let me assure all of you that Government will never be held to ransom by the teachers.
“By failing to report for duty, they think they will push us to do what they want. No, we are very principled on that. However, we are happy that some have gone back to work.
“We will apply the principle that those who work will get paid. Those who are at home are not considered to be at work,” said President Mnangagwa.
Earlier this week, teachers’ unions vowed to continue with the industrial action as negotiations with Government.
Some teachers were only clocking in, marking registers, giving pupils assignments and vanishing from their work stations.
Others are allegedly conducting illegal private lessons for a premium US$10 per subject or US$20 for Grade Seven classes monthly.-The Herald

Zimbabwe continues to record new Covid-19 cases. Yesterday the country recorded 43 new cases taking the cumulative total to 7994 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Former Zanu PF National Youth Commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu who surrendered himself to the police at Harare Central Police Station will appear in court this morning.
Tsenengamu who was part of the people mobilising towards the July 31 anti-corruption protest is being charged with inciting public violence, the same offence facing MDC Alliance deputy Chairperson Job Sikhala, journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and opposition leader Jacob Ngarivhume.
“The ZRP confirms that Godfrey Tsenengamu is in Police custody and will appear in court on 10th October 2020 in relation to incitement to commit public violence charges as defined in Section 187(1) (a) as read with section 37 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 09:23,” the police said.

BUSINESS was brought to a halt at Mutare Central Police Station last week when a man whose phone had been confiscated by the police ordered a cop to perform some ritual to ‘cleanse’ his phone.
The act backfired for the man as he was arrested.
He appeared in court two days later.
Obert Muchirahondo (30) appeared before Mutare magistrate, Ms Audrey Muzhinji last Friday on charges of engaging in practices commonly associated with witchcraft.
Muchirahondo denied the allegations and was remanded in custody to October 28.
Mr Chris Munyuki prosecuted.
It was the State’s case that on Tuesday last week, Muchirahondo went to Mutare Central Police Station to collect his confiscated cellphone.
When the police tried to give it to him, Muchirahondo ordered a police officer to ‘cleanse’ it first.
He produced some rapoko and a knife that was wrapped in a red cloth from his pocket. Muchirahondo then ordered police officer Betserai Mabeza to cleanse the phone by touching the knife.
Said Mr Munyuki: “Muchirahondo told the police officer that he had been given the items by a popular Hauna-based traditional healer.
“He told her (the police officer) that he had consulted the traditional healer after the police had confiscated his phone at the roadblock,” he said.-Manica Post

Gvt officials have responded to teachers’ incapacitation by threats, firstly expressing that they would replace incapacitated teachers with 10000 teachers, the number escalated to 25000.
Recently, overzealous gvt officials threatened to employ the ‘No Work no Pay Principle’ which again will not work.
Others are even threatening the ceasation of salary after 14 working days, which again is inapplicable.
It is noteworthy that a salary ceasation is processed by a school head over a teacher whose whereabouts is not known.
In our case teachers’ whereabouts are known as we have notified both the employer and line ministry of teachers’ incapacitation. The principle of ‘no work no pay’ does not apply over incapacitated teachers as the law can never be abused where an employer cripples the ability of a worker to report for work in order to deny him/her a salary. That principle can only be applied where workers are reasonably paid.
We challenge anyone who doubts the incapacitation of a teacher to get the teacher’s salary, pay rent for a three bedroomed house (family of six), buy food for such a family that can last a month, pay water, medical and electricity bills, pay fees for two students in secondary school and two in primary school etc. If that money can do this then teachers are capacitated, but if it cannot the teachers are incapacitated. In short no amount of threats of dismissal can capacitate an incapacitated teacher to report for work.
To our students the time to confront gvt to amplify your teachers’ voices is now. Students in South Africa did it in Soweto in the 1970s and have gone down in the annuals of history for fighting for their educational rights. You can also do it in Zimbabwe or else this year will be a wasted year for you.
To parents stop sending your children to school until teachers are capacitated. To be forewarned is to be forearmed as children engage in moral decay and social decadence in the absence of teachers.
Schools are institutions of learning and teaching, yet they are fast becoming institutions of drug abuse, myriads sexual experimentation and misdemeanours.
To gvt capacitate teachers so that they can report for work.
Prioritise the health and safety of teachers and pupils. Stop forthwith berating teachers with dismissal and call for meaningful dialogue with teacher union leaders, logical disputation and clear presentation of facts.
We certainly do not salivate at a dialogue of a master and servant, horse and rider or senior and junior, but dialogue of equal partners punctuated by truth and honesty as opposed to deceit. Neither would we accept begging and romance under archaic, obsolete and moribund Apex Council.
To school heads you are just as incapacitated as other teachers. You have nothing to show for managing schools except poverty and misery as all other teachers. Close the schools and go home until you are capacitated.
To teachers we dont harvest money in a field and neither are we magicians who can multiply the starvation wages we earn to capacitate ourselves. Lets mantain our incapacitation modus operandi until we are capacitated. Lets explain to our students and communities that we have nothing against them, but we are fighting an issue of fair labour practice, no more no less.
We love them but we cannot miraculously get to our schools because we are grossly incapacitated.
Neither are we witches who could travel at night using unconventional methods. This is the message we must amplify loud and clear and without fear or davour. Our condition can never be changed by any threat as it is real and need redress as a matter of urgency.
Our decisive phase of incapacitation must see the convergence of voices of teachers, students, parents and gvt officials in an attempt to find a pragmatic and realistic way forward. Even if the gvt can borrow money from Satan in order to pay teachers, so be it.
The discrepancies between teachers and other gvt workers’ salaries baffle logic and common sense.
Without redress of the parlous state of teachers, the only way forward for incapacitated teachers is going forward in the incapacitation modus operandi.
As teachers we have no reason to lie except highlighting the truth that our welfare, health and safety matter. There will be no retreat no surrender over issues of life and dealth, let alone protecting a veritable future for both teachers and our students.

We were really hypnotised and transfixed when the district received the news about the death of our staunch revolutionary fighter in the national democratic struggle.
May the family of the deceased be comforted by the Almighty God so that we can forge ahead with our objective fight against senseless looting manifesting in Zanupf and their power-hungry surrogates who are working to destroy the people’s project.

Sources close to the deceased Honourable, say, she had a stroke after she was recalled from Parliament by the clueless Zanupf-backed Thokozani group. As Mdc Alliance Namibia, we are convinced that the diligent MP died as a result of the stress of her illegal recall. This is not only tragic but an indictment against the imposters who have apparently subverted constitutional democracy by conniving with Zanupf to sneak back into Parliament. The gesture epitomises the death of social democracy in Zimbabwe.
Moreso, the psychological trauma generated by state capture of government institutions by a desperate regime was responsible for the untimely death of our committed and dedicated social democratic fighter. Khupe, Mwonzora and cabal are ultimately accountable for our revolutionary loss. Hon Anna Mpofu nee Myambo, who was an MP for Harare Province after entering into Parliament on a proportional representation was unconstitutionally recalled in June. Since then our legislator never recovered from the shock until she died yesterday (Thursday).
The unholy marriage between Zanupf and their puppets is at the epicentre of our misfortunes but we shall remain unshaken in defending the people’s vote.
In her conversation with the pragmatic Secretary General of the Mdc Alliance Youth Assembly, Ostallos Siziba, she said, “Ostallos shuwa tonzi tavakupa parliament to some people who did not even compaign kuno kuChitungwiza , not even a single day mwanangu, is that the new dispensation here comrade?” The conversation mirrors how Zec and parliament are operating from the directive of the politically inept Executive in Zanupf. Khupe and her people never joined Mdc Alliance, infact the inception of the Mdc Alliance marked the official departure of Khupe from our politics of change. She abandoned the freedom train before the death of our leader the late President Morgan Richard Tsvangirai only to resurface in the armpits of Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. This must be resisted with equal measure.
In a nutshell, Mdc Alliance Namibia encourages the Mpofu family to remain resolute in fighting against Zanupf shenanigans.

The ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa in July announced saying his government all this while has been at war with white farmers.
11 hours after the death of the minister of agriculture, Perrance Shiri, the latter who would have conducted this function, Mnangagwa signed what he termed a groundbreaking ceremony with dispossessed white farmers, who have lost their farms since the year 2000.
The statement was a clear military truce announcement as Mnangagwa said, “let us choose dialogue over confrontation,” he announced while also using the adjective “peaceful” to describe what the nation is now to become.
Barely 3 months later, the man has now proposed the Patriotic Bill, a new law that is worse than that of the farm takeovers.
“You talk of dialogue and peaceful resolve .. yet you plan to hold Zimbabweans to ransom in chains…” asks NenaEye, a Twitter user.
The ritual murder of Tapiwa Makore (7) of Nyamutumbu Village in Murehwa has united the nation as people from all walks of life have joined hands in consoling the family, with some from the Diaspora contributing towards funeral expenses.
The boy’s uncle, Tapiwa Makore (Senior) (57), is accused of murdering his brother’s child with the help of his herdsman, Tafadzwa Shamba.
Both have since been arrested and remanded in custody on murder charges as police continue their hunt for the witchdoctor accused of processing body parts. The witchdoctor’s name has not been revealed.
The child had his head, arms and legs cut off in the ritual killing after being kidnapped and drugged. A lot of the reaction has been directed at witchdoctors who instigate ritual murders and process body parts, with most wanting them hunted down and punished as severely as the actual killers
Yesterday, the Zanu PF Women’s League led by secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona and Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa paid condolences to the Makore family and donated groceries and cash.
Church members, the local leadership, relatives and members of the community have since the death of Tapiwa been visiting the Makore homestead for prayers and to comfort the family.
The Zanu PF Women’s League expressed dismay that instead of working hard to be successful, some people were turning to ritual murders in a superstitious attempt to get rich.
Cde Chinomona said the Women’s League and the whole nation had been traumatised by the incident and would not rest until justice was served.
She said the boy’s death was no longer a Makore issue as it had affected the whole nation, including President Mnangagwa.
“The death of Tapiwa is an eye-opener. We now know there were murderers in the community and this will put an end to the rituals. The nation is in pain. Everywhere people are affected and waiting for justice to be served. The death of Tapiwa has shown that some people are engaging in evil acts to get rich.
“Let us work hard to be successful. We cannot destroy the nation because of greed. As women, we are going to pray for justice to prevail. I am grateful that women have come in large numbers including members of different churches to console Tapiwa’s mother,” she said.
Cde Chinomona said they would unite as the Women’s League and march against ritual killings to ensure justice is delivered. “Witchdoctors who are promoting murder should be arrested, shamed and exposed,” she said.
Minister Mutsvangwa said as a mother, she knew how it felt to lose a child and that experience was not easy to get over.
“As a mother I know how it feels. After all the nine-month pregnancy experience, labour pains, the sacrifice one does for the upkeep of the child only to the lose the son to murder. What has happened to our community. What has happened to our culture? Where is humanity? We need to respect life. Let us work hard than rely on rituals to succeed,” she said.
She commended churches that have been comforting the family, saying such emotional support was vital during these difficult times. Minister Mutsvangwa urged people to value the sanctity of human life.
Chief Mangwende said they were waiting for justice to prevail. “In Murehwa we have declared that we do not want to see murderers walking freely. Justice should prevail,” he said.
A relative, Mrs Rufaro Musupayi, said the family was overwhelmed by the support it was receiving from many people including those in the diaspora.
“We have received messages and money from people in the diaspora, some of whom we are not related to. Some have also pledged to send Tapiwa’s siblings to school. The emotional and financial support has gone a long way in helping us as family,” she said.
Tapiwa’s father Mr Munyaradzi Makore said the support from the nation had strengthened the family.
“Churches, individuals, politicians and members of this community have really helped us. We feel we are not alone. We are however still waiting for the head so we can proceed with the burial. We will wait until the head is found,” he said.
Apostolic Faith Mission, Pastor Mollete Machese Gunda said although fear and anger had gripped the community, churches were there for emotional support.
“We have to remember that God is with us and he will guide us through this difficult time just as he did to Stephan when he was stoned to death,” she said. –Herald
The estate of the late music icon Oliver Mtukudzi will soon be distributed after his family approached the Master of the High Court to start the process.
The family, through its lawyers Mhishi Nkomo Legal Practice, placed a legal notice for the inspection of the late musician’s estate for 21 days starting yesterday.
“In the estate of the late Oliver Mtukudzi of Harare who died at Harare on January 23, 2019. Notice is hereby given that the first and final liquidation and or distribution account in the above estate will lie for inspection for a period of 21 days as from the 9th day of October 2020 at the office of Master of the High Court, Harare. Should no objections be lodged with the Master within the period of inspection, payments will be made in accordance therewith,” reads the notice.
In May 2019, the Master of the High Court jointly appointed the widow to the late superstar, Daisy, and another family member — Vennah Muchakagara — as executors to the estate. Daisy and Muchakagara were appointed following an edict meeting during which family members unanimously agreed to have the pair as executors. At least 15 family members attended the edict meeting that was presided over by the Additional Master responsible for Deceased Estates, Kumbirai Chigomararwa.
Among the family members were Daisy, Tuku’s daughters, sisters, and other relatives who agreed on two executors for transparency.
Mtukudzi left behind a will and appointed Chibune & Associates as executor, but the parties settled for the two family members considering that the law firm in question was now defunct. The will was read out in the meeting and no objections were immediately raised. Family members did not contest the fact that Tuku left behind a wife, Daisy, and four daughters. The Master’s Office accepted the will for administrative purposes.
Mtukudzi died at the age of 66. He had recorded 67 albums, winning several awards over a period spanning nearly 40 years. -Herald

A 75-YEAR-OLD village head in Dombodema in Plumtree allegedly struck his wife with an axe for allegedly cheating on him before shoving the body into a plastic bag and secretly buried it in an anthill to conceal the offence.
Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Nokuthula Moyo heard this when Foreman Sibanda of Village 13, Vulindlela Ward in Bulilima district appeared before her on Tuesday facing a murder charge in connection with the death of his wife, Petty Sibanda (66).
He was remanded in custody to today for judgment.
Sibanda allegedly struck his wife with an axe in November last year after accusing her of having an extra-marital affair.
He then allegedly put the body in a plastic bag before using a wheelbarrow to carry the body to his fields where he buried it in an anthill.
The offence came to light two weeks later after Sibanda decided to reveal what he had done to his son.
Upon exhumation, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition making it impossible for pathologists to determine the cause of death.
Prosecuting, Mr Blessing Gundani said on November 11 last year at around 6AM, Sibanda and his wife were at their homestead when an altercation ensued.
The dispute emanated from the fact that Sibanda accused his wife of having an extra-marital affair.
The court heard that after the dispute, the deceased left the accused person in their kitchen hut and went to her bedroom.
Sibanda went to a separate bedroom where he picked an axe and followed the deceased to her bedroom.
The two were now sleeping in separate bedrooms because of the misunderstanding.
“The accused person took an axe and went to the deceased’s bedroom hut and confronted her over the matter. They had a misunderstanding and Sibanda struck her three times on the back of the head and she died on the spot,” said Mr Gundani.
Upon realising that his wife was no longer breathing, Sibanda put the body into a plastic bag and placed it in a wheelbarrow before pushing it to the fields where he buried the body in an anthill.
The court heard that two weeks later, Sibanda phoned his son, Khayelihle who is based in South and disclosed to him what had happened.
Khayelihle then contacted his aunt via WhatsApp and notified her about the incident. The matter was reported to the police leading to Sibanda’s arrest.
Sibanda led police to the anthill where the remains were buried and they were exhumed.
According to the post-mortem report, the immediate cause of death could not be ascertained due to the advanced state of decomposition of the body.
In his defence through his lawyer Mr Nkosi Sibanda of Tanaka Law Chambers, the accused person said he acted in the heat of a moment following a misunderstanding with the deceased whom he accused of infidelity.-Chronicle
FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu is facing a vote of no confidence after a petition against him passed the required 16 250 signatures last month.
If the signatures are approved, a vote will be held in October, when two-thirds of those voting must go against the current board in order to trigger presidential elections.
Those elections would take place sometime between November and January, an advance on the current schedule, which will not see them happening until March.
Bartomeu has received criticism especially from the club’s captain, Lionel Messi who said his intention to leave the club this summer was because of how the club is being run.
He had also reportedly been considering resigning if the vote of no confidence was triggered.

Former ZANU PF Matabeleland South Province Chairman and veteran politician Rido Mpofu, 70, has been thrown into remand prison on charges of raping his 15 year old niece several times on different occassions for over a year.
Mpofu who was at one time the Mayor of Gwanda was dragged to court on Wednesday charged with rape which he is apparently denying.
Gwanda magistrate Caroline Matanga remanded him in custody to October 23 and advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
“Sometime in 2019, the juvenile was with accused person where she used to stay when she retired to bed, the accused followed her to her bedroom and asked her to polish his shoes,” said prosecutor Noel Mandebvu.
“Complainant woke up to receive the shoes and the accused pushed her to the bed. He removed his short and lowered the girl’s trousers and pants before having sexual intercourse with her without consent.”
Mpofu is alleged to have further sexually abused the teenager three times this year, threatening to send her away from his Gwanda home and stop paying her school fees if she revealed the matter to anyone.
The teenager finally opened up to her grandmother in August this year before the matter was reported to police last month.
