Chinese President Xi Jinping’s delegation on Sunday displaced international delegates attending the 2015 International Conference on HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in Africa (ICASA) from a Harare hotel.
The Chinese President is due in Harare on Tuesday.
CIO details have since ordered more than 50 ICASA delegates out of the Rainbow Towers to pave way for the Chinese President’s delegation.
Although the state media said Jinping was coming on the invitation of President Mugabe sources close to the visit said the Chinese President’s wife has interests in HIV issues hence the visit which coincides with ICASA.

The State broadsheet also threw celebrations on the visit saying it will help bolster the Zimbabwe-China mega deals. But MDC-T spokesperson, Obert Gutu, said nothing will come out of the Zimbabwe-China mega deals. “These so-called mega deals have just remained paper tigers, they have so far, dismally failed to resuscitate the comatose Zimbabwean economy,” he said.

  1. “Chinese President Xi Jinping’s delegation on Sunday displaced international delegates attending the 2015 International Conference on HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in Africa (ICASA) from a Harare hotel.”
    Yet:
sources close to the visit said the Chinese President’s wife has interests in HIV issues hence the visit which coincides with ICASA.”
    What a contradiction!
