There is heightening tension in Chivi Central Constituency as aspiring candidates in the MDC Alliance jostle for the right to represent the coalition in the coming elections.

According to reports from Chivi two MDC officials, Stephen Mudereri and Boniface Matubvunye are keen to represent the alliance in the House of Assembly plebiscite in Chivi Central Constituency despite the fact that the constituency has been reserved for MDC led by Professor Welshman Ncube.

“Matubvunye and Mudereri have already thrown their hats into the ring so we will wait and see as events unfold,” a member of the MDC Chivi Central District Executive Committee told ZimEye.com yesterday.
