By Paul Nyathi| MDC leader professor Welshman Ncube says that insubordinate MDC-T Vice President Thokozani Khuphe has to back off on her claim to the leadership of the MDC-T as Nelson Chamisa was endorsed four times as the leader of the party and the fourth time being an endorsement by God in heaven.
Addressing a disappointingly low crowd of under two thousand people in a rainy Plumtree town on Sunday, Ncube said that there is no going back on Chamisa as he is the confirmed next leader of Zimbabwe.
“Before Morgan Tsvangirai left for South Africa on the 6th of January, he summoned me and told me that he felt he was not winning on the cancer and was leaving Chamisa to take over from him, that was the first endorsement,” said Ncube.
“Secondly, the MDC-T National Council which is the biggest decision making body between the five year congresses endorsed Chamisa as the leader and that is the most important endorsement.”
“For the third time, he was endorsed by us the other six principals to the MDC Alliance to be our leader and presidential candidate.”
“You know that in our culture and beliefs these rains that you see here are also an endorsement from the God in heaven and our ancestors of this young man as our leader,” said Ncube.
“With all these endorsements you still hear people claiming that Chamisa was unconstitutionally made the MDC-T leader, such people must just back off,” said Ncube amidst a loud cheer from the crowd that braved the rains to listen to their party leaders speak.
Khuphe has openly defied Chamisa as the leader of the MDC-T claiming that she is three genuine leader as she is the only one who was elected by party congress in 2014.
She has been challenging Chamisa to go to congress and be elected than be endorsed outside congress as per the party constitution.
