Own Correspondent|Known government agents in military uniform bashed MDC Alliance Gweru Urban Youth Assembly chairperson Kudakwashe Nyome for allegedly plotting to remove Mr Mnangagwa from power.

Nyome was attacked by men using an unregistered vehicle.

According to the MDC Alliance, the men hit him with fists and baton sticks. They also headbutted him.

The men handed him to the police where he spent two nights in cells.

While in police custody, Nyome was beaten with baton sticks under his feet and hit with bottles on the knees.

“Our member, Kudakwashe Nyome was attacked by men in military uniform. They hit him with fists and baton sticks.

The men were heavily armed as they assaulted the hapless Nyome.

While in police custody he was tortured by government agents.

They used electric shockers to torture him.

We have always stated that our party is guided by clear principles that uphold the rule of law.

In the said case our member is innocent,” said a senior MDC Alliance official.

Nyome was denied legal representation and barred from seeing his relatives. He was also denied food.

“The case has been pending for too long.The sad part is that Nyome is being denied legal representation although he has been remanded out of custody.

The bail conditions are stringent.We can therefore say Nyome is not a free man.

We are witnessing relentless persecution of perceived opponents of the regime.

There is no new dispensation to talk about, Mr Mnangagwa has not changed at all, ” the MDC Alliance said in a statement.
