By Paul Nyathi|Zimbabwean police have engaged International Police network to help track down and arrest self exiled former Higher Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo.
Moyo’s international warrant of arrest was confirmed at the High Court sitting on Monday at the appearance of his co-accused Fredick Mandizvidza.
Prosecutor Clemence Chimbari told the court that Mandizvidza had been removed from being an accused to being a witness against Moyo in the case.
Mandizvidza who is the Chief Executive Officer of Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund, ZIMDEF, was found not guilty by the courts and turned witness in the case where Professor Moyo is being accused of looting up to $40 000 of the ZIMDEF funds.
Mandizvidza’s lawyer Wilson Manase submitted to the court that his client was only acting under instructions from his boss, Professor Moyo, when he authorised the funding of motor bikes for traditional leaders in Tsholotsho where Moyo was the Member of Parliament.
In his defence before fleeing the country, Moyo equated himself to a Robin Hood who took funds from the rich to give to the poor.
Moyo is believed to be exiling himself in South Africa.
