War veterans in Chirumanzu- Zibagwe Constituency have accused The First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa of overriding the decisions of the ruling party’ s district executive in the area.

Disgruntled war veterans told a Masvingo based weekly publication they had written a petition to President Emmerson Mnangagwa registering their displeasure with the First Lady’ s meddling in political affairs in the constituency.

The war veterans accused Mrs Mnangagwa of imposing candidates of her choice- subverting the will of the ordinary party members in the process.

“We have written a petition to the President because of very sad political events that are happening here. Mrs Mnangagwa’ s meddling in political programmes is worrisome. She does not have the mandate to override the decisions of the district executive,” sources in the area told the weekly paper.

Sources in Mvuma claimed there was commotion in the area last weekend as war veterans protested at Mrs Mnangagwa’ s political schemes.
