Farai Dziva| A 52-year-old woman dragged her 96-year-old husband to court demanding spousal maintenance.

Musamadya Maisiyeko dragged her husband to Harare Civil Court demanding RTGS$200 per month from her elderly husband, Joseph Maisiyeko, arguing that he was in a position to give her the money because he was always receiving foreign currency from his children who are based outside the country.

She also argued that her husband was financially able to take care of her needs as he always received rent from his tenants.

Ironically, Musamadya’s application came a few weeks after Joseph successfully applied for a protection order against her.
