Dear Editor- Government has increased the costs of applying for a passport by an alarming five hundred percent with effect from Monday August 19.

The new charges that are yet to be published by government will be as follows:

Normal
$53 to $253

Urgent/ Emergency
$253 to $800

Immediate
$318 to $1000

This is really disturbing. ..
