LETTERS| Saviour Kasukuwere the exiled dark horse of Zimbabwean politics has remained deafening silently amid a rapid rise and popularity of a pro Kasukuwere movement dubbed the Tyson Wabantu movement.
The Tyson Wabantu movement has been discussed by the ZANU PF politburo and was labelled a threat to national security. The Tyson Wabantu movement joins the Hall of fame of National Security threats that include the likes of Morgan Tsvangirai, Joshua Nkomo who were once labelled as threats to National security.The Tyson Wabantu movement has grown from leaps and bounds and become an integral part of the Zimbabwe political landscape debate and analysis. Volunteer staffers from the Movement leaked a picture of a branded vehicle which displayed the branding prowess of the Tyson Wabantu campaign. This leaked picture drew excitement, criticism and commentary from a cross section of Zimbabweans. Zimbabwe woke up to this trending picture which has been shared by Mutumwa Mawere a renowned economist and financial thinker, Larry Kays a Zimbabwean radio personality based in Canada, Sly Media and several others had something to say about the picture.
Saviour Kasukuwere’s popularity is rising as Zimbabweans desperately search for a Saviour to take over from Emmerson Mnangagwa and the second Republic pipe dream that suffered still birth.
War Veterans
Mashonaland Central War veterans have come out guns blazing denouncing Chris Mutsvangwa and their sense of entitlement. The Chris Mutsvangwa faction of the war veterans league has come out demanding tax exemptions, their own bank and several other privileges which are not the reason why genuine war veterans went to war against the settler regime.
Several War veterans have suggested that it’s time most of them retired from active politics and left it to the young generation who are the freedom fighters of the economic revolution. Saviour Kasukuwere has come up as a Sober, reasonable compromise candidate to take over from Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Doctors
Government has fired doctors with very little regard towards the welfare and wellbeing of the populace who utilise public health facilities. Doctors and health workers feel let down and thoroughly disappointed by the second Republic. The doctors also blame Nelson Chamisa and the MDC for standing aside, playing politics while the situation deteriorates. Doctors have lost faith in the 2 main political players and this has pushed them to seek an audience with Saviour Kasukuwere as an alternative and radical problem solver.
Students have also expressed dissatisfaction with ZINASU AND ZICOSU who sold their birthright for political expedience. The student representative bodies now play politics while ignoring the plight of students in various institutions and this has forced students to join the #TysonWabantu Students command centre where problems are being addressed and solved steadily.
The Campaign
The Tyson Wabantu campaign has grown in leaps and bounds. The leaked picture of a branded vehicle has energised the Kasukuwere base of young people, and is pushing the fence sitters to seriously consider Kasukuwere as an alternative to Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Kasukuwere’s success will largely hinge on the military, should the army decide to salute Kasukuwere as a commander in chief then he will be the next President of Zimbabwe.
