By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s top ally Christopher Mutsvangwa yesterday angrily stormed out of a debate on the country’s economy after he was confronted over the manner in which government reintroduced the local currency and rendered savings and pensions worthless.

A report alleged that Mutsvangwa was unhappy over interjections by MDC Secretary General.

The debate, held under the title “If China is performing better than the USA economically without elections, can elections and democracy be relied upon to deliver prosperity in Zimbabwe”.

Held at the Rainbow Towers, the debate pitted Mutsvangwa against Rev Dr Mtata, Professor Chakravati and Jacob Mafume.
