By Own Correspondent| A vicious machete wielding gang aka Mashurugwi gold diggers struck last night at Cigaro farm ten km out of Chegutu killing two people named as Gogo Antonio and her 17 year old grandchild Michele.

The three other surviving female family members were also ra_ped, left na_ked and hacked by machetes.

They are said to be in a critical condition and battling for their lives at Chegutu Hospital.

Army connections

Details have also emerged showing that Mashurugwis are made up of memebers of the Zimbabwe National Army(ZNA).

A machete gang member, Kudakwashe Hoko who was gunned down by private security guards at Goodhope which is part of Brompton Mine in Kadoma, were another machete wielding gang of Mashurugwi brutally murdered a police Constable Wonder Hokoyo, was a corporal in the Zimbabwe National Army based at the military headquarters in Harare, police revealed.

In total 6 people were in the violant gang and police say three of the six men were members of the ZNA.

On 7th day of January 2020 and at about 1200 hours, three (3) Excorp Security Guards namely Lyton Takunda Marozva Nr 08-2128757-M-18 aged 30 years of 15 Gora Drive, Eiffel Flats, Kadoma was armed with a Shot gun serial number A-56360E with 12 rounds, Constantina Makore Nr 71-101884-F-71 aged 37 years of 18 Sabina bona, Eiffel Flats, Kadoma was armed with a shot gun serial number A-32441E with 9 rounds and Onward Zinzvombe Nr 63-1225888-V-32 aged 36 years of 37 Garwe Street, Rimuka, Kadoma armed with a shot gun serial number 4448 with 5 rounds were on deployment at Goodhope Claims, Gold Rush Site, Brompton Mine, Kadoma guarding the place against possible invasion by illegal miners when the above mentioned accused persons arrived.

They were aboard a black Toyota Wish with registration number AEL 6064 which was being driven by accused person number 4.

The vehicle is Registered in the name of Winfielder Kadozora Nr unknown aged 28 years residing at house number 628/3 Mbizo 3, Kwekwe.

The accused persons confronted the Excorp Security Guards on deployment with intention to extract Gold ores leading to their arrest.

Their vehicle was searched leading to the recovery of two(2) ZRP Riot kits ( 2 helmets, 2 Stu Caps, 2 sets riot shoulder sleeves and 2 sets riot leg protectors), belonging to accused persons 1 and 2 who are members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police stationed at ZRP Mbizo and Kwekwe Central respectively.

A shovel, 2 hammers, 5 chiesel, 2 pairs Gumboots, torch, small axe with a wooden handle were also recovered in the vehicle.

The accused persons were handed over to the Police for further management.

Investigations are in progress under Kadoma Central RRB number 4158054.
