Rent-Seeking Retailers Risk Losing Operating License

By Jane Mlambo| The Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers (CZR) says it will revoke operating license to any retailer which effect a price hike on basic commodities including sugar,cooking oil,salt, bottled water, sanitary pads, washing soap and powder among other basic necessities.

In a statement yesterday CZR President Denford Mutashu said as retailers they were in full support of the government move to lockdown the country to contain the deadly virus.

As part of safety measures, CZR said shops that will open during the lockdown period should have their employees temperature checked everyday to ensure the safety of customers.
