According to a ZTN report, the homeless children who were taken to quarantine centres have escaped from the homes they being kept citing small portions of food.

Below is the tweet by one of the reporters, Garikai Fadzi, the children said the streets offered them more than what they are getting in safe houses.

This could expose them to the deadly disease considering that they will be in contact with a lot of people against the requirements of the current lockdown which limits movement of people.

Their escape could also expose them to starvation as they survive on begging yet there is little to no activity in the central business district.
