Parliament Petitioned To Call For A Referendum On Matabeleland Removal From Zimbabwe

A Gwanda based activist, Ndaniso Mpande, has individually petitioned the parliament of Zimbabwe to urgently facilitate for a referendum to be voted for by the people of Matabeleland and parts of Midlands province demarcated as former precolonial Mthwakazi Kingdom to decide if they want to remain as part of present day Zimbabwe.

Proponents of Mthwakazi restoration believe that Zimbabwe is made up of two nations which were brought together by the colonial regime in 1893. The proponents now Want the two countries to be separated under the pre 1893 boundaries.
