BY DR MASIMBA MAVAZA| The late Chishawasha Mission headmaster Mr Simon Muzanenhamo Tizora who died in Harare last week was laid to rest in his home area of Zvimba near Murombedzi.
He was laid to rest in a ceremony attended by high powered Catholic Priests led by father Fidelis Mukonori and scores of relatives friends students fellow teachers and close family members.
The ceremony was attended by many people including Dr Innocent Dzapasi Tizora his brother, his sons, siblings, priests who joined Father Fidelis Mukonori who conducted the funeral mass.
Earlier, there were fears that relatives overcome by grief could force their way into the compound and break social distancing rules. The order and respect to COVID rules was befitting a disciplinarian headmaster.
A mass of people who milled around the gate when the casket bearing his remains arrived at around noon on Tuesday from the Harare respectfully lined t
he road into the compound and indeed wept with hope to meet Mr Tizora again.
Dr Innocent Dzapasi Tizora said they had conducted public awareness in the area to encourage people to keeping the social distancing as they pay their last respects for their own safety in the wake of coronavirus pandemic that has so far claimed hundreds lives and infected thousands in Zimbabwe.
Some former government senior officials and current officials attended the ceremony.
Dr Ignatious Chombo was one of the former government officials who attended. Conspicuous of his absence was the Member of Parliament for the constituency Mr Ziyambi Ziyambi who had other pressing national commitments.
The headmaster of Chishawasha Boarding School Mr Simon Muzanenhamo Tizora passed on Monday 28th September in the morning at West End clinic in Harare.
He is survived with his wife Annamore Tizora and four children two boys serving in the civil service and two girls who are now all adults. Mr Tizora is the fourth born in the family of ten. He is survived with eight siblings. Mr Tizora was the brother to the former Senior Principal Director of the State House comrade Innocent Dzapasi TIZORA.
Mr Tizora was born on the 24th January 1958 in Zvimba Murombedzi. He attended Kaondera Primary School in Zvimba Murombedzi and did his secondary education at St Phillips Magwenya Guruve from there he enrolled at Nyadire Teacher’s college in Mutoko.
Mourners had their hearts lifted by Father Mukonori as he brought God’s peace and comfort to their hearts.
