By Jane Mlambo| A local daily newspaper Newsday has retracted a story it published yesterday about Tarirai David Mnangagwa who reportedly seized a gold mining claim after the owners had invited him to invest in the project.

Newsday referred to Tarirai David as Mnangagwa’s biological son.

In a statement last night, Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, George Charamba challenged Newsday to prove their claims that Tarirai David was Mnangagwa’s biologically son while demanding a retraction for the misinformation.

Newsday has since issued a retraction saying Tarirai David is related to Mnangagwa but could not prove that he is his biological son.
