By A Correspondent | The Murehwa based Makore family has announced a decision to bury their 7 year old Tapiwa without his head.

In a development many Zimbabweans suggested signals the secret hand of high profile persons in the murder, the Makore family has decided to give up on finding Tapiwa’s skull. Last month, several neighbours of key suspect, Mr Thanks Makore in Damafalls, Harare told ZimEye.com they witnessed police officers who arrested him receiving beer and food from the arrested suspect. Speaking on Friday afternoon, family spokesperson, Gogo Beaulah, said: “As a family we have decided to gi for burial. We have sat down; it is very heavy for us to bury the child without a head but there is nothing we can do; we are burdened. We hope that the police are going to assist us to find the child’s head.

“It is a very difficult thing we have looked at all sides of the matter… We looked at the father and mother for them to continue moaning… We don’t have a promise of when the child’s head is going to be found.”

Speaking to Tilda, she also responded on the issue of an order by the local chief who has declared that the lad should not be buried without his head. She said:

“We went back to the chief to update him and tell him that is a family we are now overburdened. Waiting for over 3-months the chief said that there is nothing he can do, and then he said we have waited for too long so I would draw my word barring the burial.”

She then added while announcing the date of burial saying:

“We have arranged for the 9th of January 2021 for burial; we are looking to all family members who have gone for holiday and those would be at work and we have found that date to be most appropriate and fitting.”
