Tinashe Sambiri|Government agents are tormenting MDC Alliance councillor for ward 18, Chiredzi, Gilbert Mutubuki in a bid to distrupt an irrigation project he launched to assist residents.

Mutubuki recently launched a flourishing irrigation project in ward 18 to assist local residents with income generating projects.

Mutubuki was on Sunday summoned to Triangle Police Station for allegedly violating lockdown restrictions.

Police also claim Mutubuki attacked war veterans.

“We distributed 100 hectares of land to residents in ward 18, Chiredzi.The irrigation project we are running is beginning to yield results.

On Sunday, police summoned me to Triangle Police Station.

They are accusing me of violating lockdown restrictions.They are also claiming that I assaulted war veterans.

They want to disturb the irrigation project we are running,” said Mutubuki.
