By Murowa Zvishavane- I read with shock and disbelief that diamonds at Murowa Mine have been depleted! This cant be true. Its a fact that Murowa Diamonds is the largest producer of high grade diamonds in Zimbabwe. Management and shareholders of Murowa Diamonds are the most cruel and capitalists to ever exist on this planet earth.

For over 20 years of mining high grade gems the local community has virtually nothing positive to talk about as the primary custodians of the diamonds. Murowa ward is the developed area in the world with a diamond mining company. When they came they promised employment, tarred roads, electricity, piped water, empowerment of locals and
environmentally friendly mining.

The obtaining situation makes the locals regret big time. No employment for locals as the manager hire his homies, no roads as employees fly to and from work, no portable water as water bodies are heavily polluted by mine waste.

A lot of villagers had their homes destroyed due to have blasting and some now
suffer from dust induced diseases.

Yes this mine has brought more misery and suffering to the locals. The mine has done nothing in terms of CSR and ploughing back into the community. Management has really jailed the community as the local leadership is bribed with ice-cream. I really wonder if to MP is aware of the existence of this mine as he himself is a missing person.

Zimbabwe cant develop when we have exploiters and looters masquerading as investors.
