By A Correspondent- Opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema has called on the ZICTA to immediately unblock the internet to enable citizens to follow the electoral process unhindered.

Zambians started voting on Thursday in an election showdown between President Edgar Lungu and main opposition rival Hakainde Hichilema that looks too tight to call and comes amid mounting debt and a flagging economy.

He tweeted:

“We call on ZICTA to immediately unblock the inetrnet so citizens can follow the electoral process and continue with their lives unhindered. Its a shame that even the PF who ordered the shutdown are issuing unbridled statements through VPN.”
