ACTING NATIONAL POLITICAL COMMISSAR CLARIFIES ZANU PF EU-UK CHAIRMANSHIP

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | HARARE- The Acting National Political Commissar of ZANU PF Cde Patrick Anthony Chinamasa has clarified the party position regarding the Chairmanship of ZANU PF UK-EU District following the passing away earlier this year of Acting Chairman Cde Masimba Tavengwa.

The late Cde Tavengwa was Acting Chairman of ZANU PF UK following the appointment then Chairman Cde Ndabaningi Nick Mangwana to the position of Permanent Secretary.

Cde Chinamasa in a letter addressed to the Secretary for Administration for ZANU PF UK cde Xavier Muneyi Zavare said that _”According to the records at Party Headquarters and in line with party protocols on seniority of it’s members in the District Executive Committee, the most senior member of the Executive will act in the position of District Chairman in the event of death or incapacitation of the incumbent Chairman”_

The party, through the Acting National Political Commissar, further went on to confirm that _”in this regard the Commissariat Department conforms that *Cde Xavier M Zavare* as the appropriate Acting District Chairman pending elections that are scheduled to take place in due course”

There has been misunderstanding within the District following the passing on of Cde Tavengwa. ZANU PF UK and Europe was at the verge of splitting with cde Marshal Gore and his team trying to wrestle the acting chairmanship from Cde Zavare. Cde Gore who boasted of the support from the head office had put the work of the district to a halt.

In the letter, the party advised all members to revert back to their original position and special mention was highlighted on Cde Marshall Gore who according to reports was purporting to be Acting District Chairman.

Cde Gore’s phone went unanswered while Cde Zavare could not be reached as he was in a meeting.
