By A Correspondent- A woman with a disability turned into wonder woman when she allegedly fought off a pervert who broke into her house in Bulawayo and attempted to se_xually attack her.

The 36-year-old victim from Mzilikazi suburb bravely fought off the alleged se_xual predator Isaac Mbewe (39), a popular cobbler from the same suburb.

In a bid to scare off her assailant, who was nak_ed, the victim screamed for help as she struggled with him.

It is alleged that on 28 September 2021, Mbewe from Thokozani Flats went to the victim’s place and found her alone.

The seemingly suspicious victim reportedly asked Mbewe to leave since she was alone and he complied.

After a few minutes, Mbewe reportedly came back and forced himself into the victim’s house. While inside he demanded to have se_xual intercourse with the woman, who is paralysed, and she refused.

A seemingly se_xually frustrated Mbewe lifted the victim’s dress before he forcibly ripped off her panties and, in the process, he also removed his pair of trousers and underwear and pressed the woman down.

The victim reportedly screamed for help, calling her neighbour as she struggled with Mbewe. Mbewe reportedly dressed up and bolted out of the house.

Her neighbour later came and the victim narrated her ordeal to her. They went and reported the matter to the police and investigations led to Mbewe’s arrest.

For the offence, Mbewe has appeared in court before Bulawayo magistrate Nomasiko Ndlovu charged with attempted rap_e as defined Section 189 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.

He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to 14 October 2021.
