By Business Reporter- President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly pushed controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo out of the bid to secure a stake in the Starlink satellite because of his dishonesty and questionable business practices.

Chivhayo, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and contentious business dealings, sought a role in the state-run satellite initiative.

However, President Emmerson Mnangagwa reportedly blocked his involvement, citing concerns over Chivhayo’snumerous scandals and outspoken behaviour.

According to The Standard: “What we gather is that His Excellency decided to maintain a ‘professional’ approach regarding the Starlink project, as Chivhayo’s actions and his motor-mouth were tarnishing both his reputation and that of the office. He was causing significant disruption not only within government but also within and beyond Zanu PF.”

The publication also revealed that “it was proven and widely agreed that Chivhayo had made false claims on several issues.

As a result, POTRAZ was forced to clarify that Chivhayo’s IMC is not the sole service provider.

His controversies have led to his exclusion from the project.”
