Voices from the Edge: A Poetic Rebuke to Power.
By Kerina Mujati
Why invoke my name,
Chris Mutsvangwa,
when truth cascades from my lips
like rivers that cannot be dammed?
Do you think my voice insignificant?
No—
It burdens you,
because the people are listening.
My words are heavier than the silence you crave.
I will stand with Chiwenga,
not because he is pure,
but because he is a shadow
cast against a greater darkness.
I will stand,
until the whistle blows
and the games of cowards end.
But you—
you push for a third term,
a crown for a thief,
a murderer named Emmerson Mnangagwa.
You prop the unworthy,
ushering tyranny into a future
already trembling with grief.
Chris Mutsvangwa,
your name drips with deceit.
You wear the face of corruption,
a mask soiled with betrayal,
a visage that reeks of complicity.
We see you.
The people are listening.
And history sharpens its pen
to write your fall.
