In a fiery outburst that has set social media abuzz, Zanu PF official Killer Zivhu has sharply criticized opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), accusing them of hypocrisy and dishonesty.

The outspoken Zivhu, known for his bold and controversial statements, delivered the attack on Monday, calling out CCC MPs for their alleged double standards.

“CCC MPs, stop the hypocrisy! Visit the farm as planned,” Zivhu said in a direct and no-holds-barred rebuke. “You accepted $40k & cars from the same parliament, now don’t pretend to be saints in public. Ndikawana anonditengera castle lite, ndodzitaura mari dzamakapiwa pa Christmas, mazipenzi avanhu musatinyangadza pano.”

His fiery remarks stem from allegations that some opposition MPs have been accepting financial rewards and luxury items, only to portray themselves as champions of the people. Zivhu’s comments suggest that these MPs are engaging in a charade, attempting to appear virtuous in public while benefiting from the very system they criticize.

Zivhu further questioned their integrity, implying that their actions during the festive season raised doubts about their true motivations. “If I see someone buying me a castle lite, I will talk about the money you were given at Christmas,” he said, referencing a local beer brand and implying that the opposition MPs are indulging in lavish perks at the taxpayers’ expense.

The attack comes amid mounting tension between the ruling party and the opposition, with Zivhu particularly targeting the public image of the opposition. His comments also echo broader frustrations with what he views as the opportunistic nature of some opposition leaders.

The controversial remarks also tie into the wider political landscape in Zimbabwe. Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa notably withdrew from the CCC formation at the start of 2023, citing deep concerns about the infiltration of Zanu PF operatives within the ranks of his party. This schism continues to highlight the challenges facing the opposition in Zimbabwe, as infighting and accusations of corruption and mismanagement take center stage.

With Zivhu’s statement stoking further flames of political discourse, it remains to be seen how the opposition will respond to the growing criticism, and whether they will address the issues raised by the Zanu PF official. In the meantime, Zivhu’s attack has certainly added fuel to the fire of Zimbabwe’s already tense political atmosphere.
