Simba Bhora has appointed Joel Luphahla as their new coach, following the departure of Tonderai Ndiraya, who led the team to their first-ever Castle Lager Premier Soccer championship title in 2024.

Luphahla, formerly an assistant coach at Highlanders, was unveiled as the new boss on Tuesday. Speaking at his unveiling, Luphahla acknowledged the high expectations from the people of Shamva, saying: “I know the expectations from the people of Shamva are very high.”

Luphahla also recognized the pressure to maintain the club’s momentum, stating: “Last season was very good for the club; they won the league title. So, we are coming here under pressure, of course, to make sure that we maintain what the club achieved last season.”

The new coach expressed his hope that the people of Shamva would accept him and support him in his new role, saying: “It’s not going to be easy. And I’m hoping that the people of Shamva are going to accept me. They’re going to carry me on their shoulders.”
