Chaos at Rainbow Towers Hotel as Pastor Obadiah Musindo Clashes with Women Over $350 Payment Dispute

Harare, Sunday — A dramatic scene unfolded at the Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare today as Pastor Obadiah Musindo found himself at the center of a confrontation with a group of women said to be demanding $350. The incident, which took place at the hotel’s coffee shop, drew significant attention as bystanders captured footage of the chaotic exchange.

According to Musindo, the altercation began when he met with a former colleague who claimed to be owed $350 by his organization, the Zimbabwe Sex Workers Empowerment And Transformation Association. The woman, who had traveled from Masvingo, alleged the money was related to accommodation expenses under the association’s program for commercial sex workers.

In an exclusive interview, Pastor Musindo explained his version of events: “I was sitting down with a lady, a former colleague, discussing her situation. She mentioned the $350, but it was not me who owed her. It was the organization. Suddenly, she grabbed my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my Galaxy S6. I held onto her, and then other women joined in.”

The situation quickly escalated, with three women reportedly shouting accusations at Musindo, calling him an “abuser of women” and threatening to take him to the police. The pastor expressed disappointment in the response of three Members of Parliament who were present during the incident, accusing them of mishandling the situation.

“These MPs, instead of talking to me to understand what was happening, started pulling me. If you see the video, it does not look good. This happened in a public place where I have an office, and I always ensure I am not alone when meeting women,” Musindo said.

Musindo linked the confrontation to broader political and social issues, mentioning a group chat where individuals discussed protests and made critical remarks about the government and prominent figures such as Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Joice Mujuru.

He also defended his work with the Zimbabwe Sex Workers Empowerment And Transformation Association, stating, “The truth is that Jesus never preached condemnation. We are helping these women, training them, and giving them a chance to rebuild their lives. The money in question was not mine; it was supposed to go through a woman named Mai Makoni.”

Musindo, known for leading the Destiny of Africa Network, reiterated his stance on forgiveness and redemption, emphasizing that his organization focuses on grace, not condemnation.

He said he has cut off ties with preacher Passion Java.

When pressed for answers, he would not disclose what exactly the US$350 payment was for.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many questioning the nature of Musindo’s involvement with the women and his organization’s operations. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the altercation.

As investigations continue, the public awaits clarity on the unfolding drama at one of Harare’s most prominent hotels.
