Staff Reporter|Government has refuted claims that the country will be introducing the Chinese Yuan as the country’s main currency (and to be used for paying civil servants’ salaries) blaming the opposition MDC for fabricating the story which is making headlines in the social media.
In a statement issued through the state broadcaster, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe said the public must ignore the social media story “as it is a fabrication by opposition sources bent on destabilising the nation.”
According to the statement the government will not be considering changing from the current multi currency system where the US Dollar remains the major medium in circulation.
The central bank claims that the Chinese Yuan was made one of the official currencies in the country two years ago amongst eight other currencies.
The bank says that there might only be just be an increase in the amount of the Chinese Yuan in circulation following the trade deals recently signed between Zimbabwe and China.
Government also warned against another social media circular advising Zimbabweans to withdraw all their money from the banks immediately to avoid getting their money in Chinese Yuan. The State once again blamed opposition parties for coming up with the circular in order to cause panic in the country.

The regime’s failure to revive the economy is doing more to destabilize the nation than an opposition rumour that civil servants will being paid in Yuans!

no you are wrong government has released a statement saying it was the opposition and those bent on disturbing the peace who changed the pay dates. Everyone was paid in full before Christmas together with their bonuses. What the opposition and everyone does not know is that the president decreed that all civil servants be paid a 14th cheque and that is being paid in January to help everyone pay for their fees, also it will be gross and not taxable but the media seems not to reporting on that because they are British and American mouthpieces

And when a date is changed from the 28th to the 29th – unlike the 30th to the 5th of another month of another year; then there is every reason to speculate and / or panic.

All we know there is no smoke without fire. Anything is possible with Zanu Pf government. And they blame the next person or even object for all their failures.
Rumours circulate where there is policy inconsistency. Rumours are there to fill the vacuum. As it stands no official position has come out of government why salaries were not paid on time. We are only told of new dates after new dates. We are not told what the real problem is yet our economy is improving significantly with our “Ten Point Plan” outlined by the President in line with our successful ZimAsset blueprint. Kkkkkkkkk.
