Terrence Mawawa, Chivi| The son of an Apostolic Faith Mission pastor stationed at Ngundu Business Centre died last week after he lost control of the Honda Fit Vehicle he was driving.
It has emerged Preacher Kwakwa, the pastor’s son was driving under the influence of alcohol when he lost control of the Honda Fit vehicle. The accident happened at Museva Business Centre, seven kilometres from Ngundu last Saturday around midday. Sources told ZimEye.com, Preacher borrowed the vehicle from a church mate. He was seen drinking beer before the fatal crash happened.
Eyewitnesses said the accident happened while Preacher had his seat belt unfastened. When he tried to avoid an abnormal load vehicle, he lost control of the car and it swerved dangerously and he crushed. The late pastor’s son was in the company of his girlfriend and a friend. They both escaped unhurt. “The accident happened when the driver saw an abnormal load truck. As he tried to avoid the truck, the car swerved dangerously resulting in his death.We understand the driver was drinking beer before the fatal accident happened.There was nothing we could do to help him because he was seriously injured .To our surprise the two people he was travelling with both escaped unhurt,” said an eyewitness.
Masvingo Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Charity Mazula confirmed the incident.
