This soldier at 2.3 Combat Group known as Maherani harassed a female combi driver for making him pay 50cents for a ride from karoi some few days ago.

It is said Maherani approached this female driver and asked for help since he had fifty cents. The female driver obliged and ferried him to magunje. Maherani was in uniform.

Today after a few days Maherani who was visibly drunk approached the combi female driver and harassed her in front of other touts accusing her of making a soldier in uniform pay. We wonder whether the army personnel have a right not to pay for their transport cost when in uniform. It took some bold touts at magunje rank to restrain Maherani.

Surely this behavior by unruly, undisciplined servicemen is tarnishing the image of the army. The army is supposed to protect the citizenry and such uncouth behavior is not tolerated especially a day after *women’s day*

We hope and appreciate that the necessary authorities in the military would take appropriate action against rogue elements such as Maherani who was wearing *jombo* to attack a female driver who had helped him in the time of need. He came claiming that *”Ndakupfekera jombo nokuti wakandibhadharisa ndakapfeka uniform”.*
