By Paul Nyathi| The Zimbabwe Football Association led by Philip Chiyangwa has with immediate effect appointed perennially struggling football adminstration Kenny Mubaiwa into the national football body’s executive committee.

The announcement was made by the ZIFA Communications Manager Xolisani Gwesela in a media statement late Wednesday evening.

Mubaiwa was co-opted into the committee together with Rosemary Kanonge with no explanations given by the football mother body.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) would like to inform the football fraternity that In accordance with article 32.1 of the ZIFA constitution, the emergency committee of ZIFA has co-opted Mr Keni Mubaiwa ( PSL Emergency Committee Chairperson)and Mrs Rosemary Kanonge (Women Soccer League Chairperson) to the Zifa Executive Committee with immediate effect,” said the statement.

Mubaiwa is the father of Mary Mubaiwa the 35 year old wife to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Chiwenga married Mary in a hush in 2011 paying Mubaiwa US$47 000 cash as bride price to snatch the ex model from former husband and footballer Shingi Kawondera who had also paid but a”very low” bride price for the beauty.

Mubaiwa has been willy nilly in and out of the chairmanship of the country’s biggest football club Dynamos where he has on several times been caught on the wrong side by the assumed 7 million Dynamos fans.

Football fans and commentators on social media have generally not accepted Mubaiwa’s appointment into the committee claiming that it is not on merit but was influenced by his relationship with the country’s most feared man at the moment.
