By Dorrothy Moyo|The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson, Charity Charamba has denied that she last week stated that people are crying out for the return of police roadblocks.

In a statement, Mrs Charamba said the media want to tarnish the image of the police.

She denied saying that a country cannot operate without roadblocks at a media workshop in Gweru.

In her latest statement, Charamba said, “the ZRP would like to dismiss such reports that are circulating on some sections of the media alleging that people are crying out for roadblocks to return.

“That statement was never issued by the ZRP and even the ZRP spokesperson never said that. That mischievous person (journalist) wants to tarnish the image of the ZRP by spreading falsehoods.”
