Zambia’s leading airline, Proflight Zambia marked its maiden flight into Zimbabwe today signaling the launch of the airline’s route between Harare and Lusaka.

Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) Chief Executive Mr David Chawota said Proflight Zambia’s new route that links Harare and Lusaka four times a week is one such conduit that will strengthen trade relations between the two countries.

Proflight Zambia Director Government and Industry Affairs Captain Phil Lemba said Zambia is Zimbabwe’s second largest trading partner in the sub-Saharan region after South Africa, hence the introduction of a direct flight into this destination is thus a vital cog to enhance business activity.

Director Aviation and Rail Transport in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development Mr Allowance Sango said government has liberalised its aviation space as anticipation grows for more airlines both regional and international.
