Jane Mlambo| Barely a few hours after the arrest of his fellow colleague, Genius Kadungure outside the Harare Magistrates Court, Wicknell Chivayo has been arrested by police detectives
ZRP cops returned to pick the well known fraudster to whom a government parastatal, dished out more than $5 mln without a bank guarantee. Chivayo was nabbed in connection with a bribery case involving a Zimbabwe Power Company executive, Nyasha Kazhanje.
He was arrested soon after coming from court where he was answering to a fraud case involving his company Intratek Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, all this was after the Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa had called for his arrest.
Chivayo was implicated in a bribery case that resulted in the arrest of a Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) employee Nyasha Kazhanje.
Mliswa said Kazhanje was supposed to be arrested together with Chivayo as they both committed a crime.
Whilst Kazhanje (former ZPC Chair) was arrested on allegations of receiving a $10k bribe from Chivayo, isn’t corruption two ways unless it’s a set up? What of the one who proffered the bribe?

Chivayo was arrested in connection with a Gwanda solar power station tender he got from ZPC and subsequent abuse of state resources after he received $5 million which he converted to his own use without developing the project that has not seen the light of day to date.
