Farai Dziva|The main opposition party in Zimbabwe, MDC has described the conduct of state security agents as “barbaric.”

This follows the abduction of MDC members in Midlands Province.

Below is a statement written by the MDC Midlands Information and Publicity Department:

As a legitimate party that has chosen to change government through the ballot box, MDC is perturbed by the abduction and harassment of its members who are not in any way a security threat.

Midlands Province would like to remind the rogue Central Intelligence operatives that the operations of intelligence in the 21st century have shifted from use of force to intellect, and that our activists must be immediately released from unlawful detention and harassment.

Zimbabwe is at crossroads at this critical historical juncture and we do not need such unpalatable violations of the rights of innocent citizens but respect of the dignity and inalienable rights of law abiding citizens.
