The pace setting newly elected MDC Youth Assembly National leadership today met vendors at the party’s headquarters, Morgan Richard Tsvangirai House in Harare.
Speaking at the event which was also attended by his predecessor, Hon Happymore Chidziva, Youth Assembly National Chairman Obey Luther Sithole took the congregants down the memory when the country used to outsource labour from neighboring countries due to abundance of job opportunities.
Cde Luther, as Sithole is affectionately known bemoaned the escalating unemployment rate and the debilitating economic situation which he attributed to the corrupt, clueless and extravagant ZANU PF regime.
The supersonic MDC youth commander also highlighted the importance of the informal sector if the country is to reclaim its status as the breadbasket of the region.
Sithole said it is very critical that a pro-people and all inclusive party with sound economic policies like the MDC should steer the country going forward.
The maverick youth leader also reiterated the party’s position that the Emmerson Mnangangwa regime is illegitimate.
“We are not going to wait for 2023 and let Mnangagwa ruin our future and that of generations to come while we stand in akimbo”, charged Cde Luther.
The event was also attended by Youth Assembly National members, Vice Chair Cecelia Chimbiri, Secretary General Gift Siziba, Spokesperson Stephen Chuma, Deputy Spokesperson, Womberai Nhende and Deputy Organ Netsai Marova.
