Jane Mlambo| Sitabile Dewa, one of the seven civil society activists arrested upon arrival from Maldives where they had gone to attend a workshop on non-violent action yesterday missed her graduation ceremony at Africa University in Mutare as she had not been released from custody despite the High Court granting her bail on Friday afternoon.

Dewa together with Nyasha Frank Mpalo, George Makoni, Tatenda Mombeyarara and three others were arrested and accused of subverting a constitutionally elected government, a charge they have flatly denied.

She was supposed to graduate with a Masters Degree at the Africa University in Mutare.

Below is Dewa’s marked chair whose occupant was in detention at the time the ceremony was underway in the eastern highlands.
