To try and persuade all Zimbabweans to fully appreciate or objectively acknowledge the legacy of Cde RG Mugabe at this moment, probably in the same way Zambians can now appreciate the legacy of Cde Kenneth Kaunda might be too much to ask from them.
Zimbabweans are quite disoriented by anger oozing out from many years of suffering and they are yet to see a better political environment in which each person shall sit under his olive or fig tree and narrates the story of their struggle for survival to his or her offsprings.
It was just recent that his heavy political shadow was hovering above us and the horrible political shrieking Voices that went along with that shadow are echoing audios of deep pain in their lives.
Those are the visions and voices of terror that are strongly challenging our mental objectivity and capacity to fully comprehend the impact of the political legacy of this great man.
Zimbabweans will be forever humbly grateful that the world of Africa is helping them to see with clarity the depth of his contribution to the Continent and the International Community who also offer another perspective about his contribution.
They have to be patient with the Zimbabweans because many boiling points have to assuage before they start putting together pieces of his legacy and according each piece its deserved appreciation.
The idea of not thinking about him after he was elbowed out into retirement was well settling amongst ourselves because there are no moments of him we can cherish without the thoughts of haunting blood shadows and poverty scotched terrains of life.
That Brave Hero who could dare slap the superpowers of this world with uncomfortable truth was more than equally a monstrous bully who would cow us his people into our crevices to such an extent that we learnt firsthand that education, rights, freedom, human life or dignity were nothing to him and international community could not do anything to rescue us.
RG Mugabe is gone but not only his legacy shall be staying around us but also the systems that were established under his supervision.
We are not celebrating his ouster or his eventual demise but we are waiting for that time yet to come, when we will actually celebrate his legacy together with the other champions of independent Africa.
As of now Africa may chronicle his legacy while we nurse and balm our deep wounds so that with the little strength from our God, we can be able to keep walking towards that land where our dreams envision.
He took us into the woods where thorns are still pricking our feet, where the sun is blasting our heads, where sharp stones are slicing and slitting our feet and where the sudden torrents are sweeping the soil under our feet but we will walk, no matter how slow we will move, fully aware that we are still far from getting out of the woods and we may probably have to do it all alone.
