By Jane Mlambo| Opposition MDC-T leader Thokozani Khupe has been dealt a major blow following the resignation of her deputy Obert Gutu this morning.

Gutu did not state the reason for his resignation but the move is likely to be a major setback for Khupe as Gutu was one of the party heavyweights and a critical member of the movement.

A few weeks ago, Gutu posted a picture of himself and other party members attending a strategic meeting in Bulawayo and everything seemed well.

Khupe’s party has not responded to Gutu’s resignation and it remains to be seen what the party will do and who will replace the former Deputy minister of justice during the inclusive government.

Besides Gutu, Khupe does not have very senior and respectable people, so the resignation of her deputy could be the final nail on the coffin.
