By A Correspondent | The fired Deputy Minister of Defence and National Political Commissar for ZANU PF cde Victor Matemadanda was fired for opposing July Moyo in a war to control Midlands Province.

Sources close to the case have said there has been a fierce war for the control of Midlands. There are two factions in the Midlands which have reeled ugly heads. All the factions purport to be defending Mnangagwa.

July Moyo who is angling to become the president himself is supported by Owen Mudha Ncube who is the minister of State Security and are both believed to be very close to the president.

July Moyo’s ambitions to become the president first came into light when Norton MP Temba Mliswa sounded alarm bells.
July Moyo is believed to be creating his power base and acting on the people who pay their allegiance to him.

Matemadanda was seen to be the stumbling block as he thwarted the efforts by July Moyo to seize control of the party as position himself for the position.

Sources close to the drama have said Mnangagwa is still in denial and instead he fired Matemadanda a clear sign that he has taken the side of July Moyo.

July Moyo and Mnangagwa are related as Moyo’s daughter is married to one of Mnangagwa’s sons.

What has made matters worse is the fact that last week Matemadanda when addressing a meeting in Mashonaland central told the meeting that Goche was a senior member in Mashonaland Central Province. This was reported to Mnangagwa by July Moyo. Mnangagwa was so angry because he had appointed Cde Musanhi to be the senior member in Mashonaland Central. Matemadanda’s declarations at a meeting was taken as a sign to undermine Mnangagwa.

In a bid of getting to Matemadanda July Moyo and Mudha found an opportunity to have Matemadanda removed and to have their plans executed without disturbances from Matemadanda. .

Information on the ground is that all is not well in the presidium.

In the meantime July Moyo and Mudha Ncube are now controlling the party and have become very powerful in ZANU PF and in the country.

Matemadanda has been reassigned to be an ambassador to Mozambique.

“Mnangagwa has become very insecure and his insecurity has blinded him to the real danger around him,” said a source.

They added saying:

“As we speak, the two Midlands ministers have been making sure the relationship between Mnangagwa and his Deputy Chiwenga is kept frosty so that they will gain more traction.”
