Governor Cuomo must do more than call essential workers heroes–

He must sign the NY HERO act immediately
NY has the opportunity to lead the nation and become the first state to take the lessons learned from Covid-19 and create an airborne infectious disease standard to fight this pandemic and whatever comes next
Covid is still here. New York continues to be a Hotspot and thousands of people across the state have died just in the last month.
frontline essential workers continue to be among the most vulnerable to new COVID infections, hospitalizations, and deaths.
Workers in New York have gotten all of us through this crisis. Whether it is through rapid response in hospitals during the different outbreaks, or steadily producing our food and caring for our families for the last year, all workers in New York have been essential for us to survive this crisis, they deserve protections.

With new variants spreading and vaccinations still months and months away from completion it is urgent that we prioritize the safety of frontline workers who continue to face high risk of infection.

We cannot wait for Vaccines.

As NY reopens in these dangerous conditions it is critical that we reopen safely by protecting workers with enforceable workplace safety rules.

Workers are the experts and must be empowered through health and safety committees to keep their workplaces safe
Governor Cuomo must stand with workers and sign the bill immediately with no changes.
