By Jane Mlambo| Estranged wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Marry Mubaiwa has revealed damning details on the involvement of President Emmerson Mnangagwa in her separation with the retired Army General.

In an interview with a local publication, Marry said Mnangagwa is the one who called her to announce that only six people were allowed to go to China with Chiwenga while reading out names which excluded her.

She said the phone call only came when everything had been planned, suggesting Mnangagwa was only used to break the news to her or was in connivance with his deputy.

“The President called me a few hours before my husband was set to leave for China and said President Xi (Chinese President Xi Jinping) had suggested that my husband gets medical attention in China and that 12 professors were waiting to attend to him. He however said only six people should come, including him, his doctor, the assistant nurse and the security team. I even asked why I was not included, and the President said I would go at a later time as President Xi had suggested that my husband should come and get attended to before I can join him,” Marry said.

She added that though she had a diplomatic passport which doesn’t require a visa to travel, Mnangagwa told her she could not go as those on the list had already secured visas.

“I insisted that I needed to go, but I was told the plane was already waiting and those that required visas had them already. So I guess it had been planned for some time, but I had just not been told. I however did not require a visa because I had a diplomatic passport,” said Marry.
