Ancelotti Backs Tchouameni Despite Hierarchy Disapproval

Sports Correspondent

Carlo Ancelotti continues to support Aurélien Tchouameni, despite growing doubts about the French midfielder’s ability to perform as a centre-back for Real Madrid.

Since his return from injury in early December, Tchouameni has been deployed as a central defender due to the absences of key players David Alaba and Eder Militao. However, the 24-year-old has struggled in this unfamiliar position, which he has openly admitted to feeling uncomfortable in.

According to Relevo, Real Madrid’s hierarchy has expressed disappointment in Tchouameni’s performances. The prevailing sentiment within the club is that the Frenchman has not lived up to the high expectations placed upon him following his €80 million transfer from AS Monaco in 2022. Despite these concerns, Ancelotti remains supportive, continuing to field the player in various defensive roles.

Zanu PF Murakashi Mukuru Gets Brand New Car From Chivayo

By A Correspondent

A loyal Zanu PF foot-soldier, C.H Mukungunugwa, has received a brand-new Mercedes Benz C200 from controversial businessman and ruling party supporter Wicknell Chivayo.

The gesture has raised eyebrows, as Chivayo, known for his close ties to the ruling party, shared the news on his social media platform, X.

“I want to appreciate a committed ZANU PF cadre and information strategist Mr. C. H. MUKUNGUNUGWA, for his remarkable dedication to the party,” Chivayo wrote. “His unwavering efforts in publicizing ZANU PF activities and ensuring the nation remains informed about key developments in the ruling party have been truly outstanding.”

Chivayo, a controversial businessman associated with Zanu PF, has previously faced scrutiny over his wealth and business dealings.

His latest gesture has reignited questions about the sources of his fortune, particularly his penchant for rewarding loyal party members.

The gift to Mukungunugwa, often referred to as a “bootlicker” due to his strong public support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has sparked debate on social media, with critics questioning whether such acts of generosity are a way to further cement loyalty within the party ranks.

Chivayo’s distribution of cars to Zanu PF loyalists has become a point of contention, fueling further speculation about his influence within the party and the nature of his business operations. As the debate over his wealth continues, his latest gesture adds fuel to the ongoing conversation about the intersection of business, politics, and loyalty in Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa Is Zanu PF Creator, Declares Youth Leader

By A Correspondent

Zanu PF Youth League official Taurai Kandishaya has made a bold statement, claiming that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is not only a long-standing member of the ruling party but its very architect, implying that Mnangagwa is the true owner of Zanu PF.

In a passionate address on Tuesday, Kandishaya hailed Mnangagwa’s pivotal role in shaping the party, stating, “Here is the man who has been a part of ZANU PF since 1964.

He has never betrayed the struggle and remains the only surviving member of the first ZANU PF Politburo.” Kandishaya continued to outline Mnangagwa’s immense contribution to both the party and the nation, positioning him as the central figure in Zimbabwe’s political history.

“This man is not just a member of ZANU PF, but its architect, having laid the foundation and cast the pillars,” he said. “He established the National Security System of our beloved Zimbabwe.” Kandishaya went on to describe Mnangagwa as a leader who bridges the past, present, and future of Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

The youth leader emphasized Mnangagwa’s unique place in Southern Africa’s political history, noting, “As the only President in SADC who worked alongside the founding fathers of African solidarity, he embodies a perfect blend of past, present, and future.”

Kandishaya also underscored the challenges Mnangagwa has overcome throughout his political career.

“His entire political life has been marked by naysayers who claim ‘he will not get, he will fail, he cannot,’ but he continues to triumph,” he stated, commending the President’s resilience and ability to outmaneuver his detractors.

The remarks come as Mnangagwa continues to consolidate power within the party, with some party officials and analysts debating the long-term future of Zanu PF leadership.

Kandishaya’s strong endorsement positions the President as not just a leader, but as the enduring foundation of the party itself, effectively claiming ownership over its direction and legacy.

Former ZANU PF national political commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere, expressed his deep shock and paid tribute to Chimutengwende, saying, “Chenhamo Chedu ‘Chazorora’ Chimutengwende…He came, he saw and he conquered. Destiny Mubaiwa Celebrates O-Level Success Amid Family Separation

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – A bittersweet moment has unfolded as Destiny Mubaiwa, daughter of Marry Mubaiwa, celebrated her O-Level success despite being estranged from her three siblings for over six years due to ongoing legal and family disputes involving Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Destiny passed her O-Level examinations with flying colors, achieving six passes. While her academic achievement is a source of pride for her mother and supporters, the absence of her siblings – Tendai, Christian, and Michael– casts a shadow over her celebration.

The three siblings, who once attended the same school as Destiny, were relocated to other institutions by Vice President Chiwenga following the initiation of his divorce from Marry Mubaiwa. This family separation has remained unresolved, with allegations that the children have not received counseling to address the emotional toll of the situation.

Adding to the distress, Chiwenga has denied Marry Mubaiwa access to her passport, blocking her from traveling abroad to receive critical medical treatment. Mubaiwa, who has faced legal and health challenges in recent years, has consistently pleaded for justice and access to her children.

The kids’ mother’s lawyers’ written requests for access to the children have been ignored.

The ongoing family dispute highlights broader concerns about the well-being of the children caught in the crossfire. Advocates and observers have raised questions about the psychological impact of such prolonged separation and the need for professional support for the children.

This development underscores the resilience of Destiny, who continues to excel academically despite the challenges surrounding her family. However, calls are growing louder for a resolution to the family’s plight, particularly regarding the children’s right to familial connections and emotional support.

As Destiny’s achievement is celebrated, many hope it will serve as a catalyst for dialogue and reconciliation within the family. For now, the Mubaiwa-Chiwenga saga remains a stark reminder of the human cost of unresolved disputes.- ZimEye

WestProp Opens $5,000 Investment In Millennium Heights Aparthotel

WestProp

By Business Reporter-WESTPROP Holdings is now accepting investment into its novel apartment hotel at Millennium Heights, with investors expected to put in a minimum of US$5000.

So far 58 percent of the fractional shares have been swapped since launch last November.

Multiple investors can part own an apartment, which would be leased out to clients as serviced apartment accommodation for short-term stays.

The company is now educating customers on the advantages of having fractional shares in the apartment hotel.

“In Zimbabwe, we have traditionally been accustomed to owning property outright. This approach (outright ownership) often requires significant upfront capital and can be a costly endeavour, especially for first time investors,” said WestProp CEO Mr Ken Sharpe.

“That is where fractional ownership comes in. By pooling resources with like-minded investors, you can own a share of a luxury apartment hotel like Block 5 without breaking the bank,” he said.

The market is beginning to warm up to the idea, with a sizeable number of customers having snapped up shares in the branded apartment hotel and appreciating the flexibility of fractional ownership, which reduces risk and makes it more affordable.

“After the first year of operation as an aparthotel, investors can expect returns of at least 8 percent. However, as the property values increase and the hotel’s occupancy rates grow, so too will be the return on investment,” he said.

Mr Sharpe says investors should take up the offer and prepare for their future and that of their children. This is a sure way into long term secure investment. With the guarantee on the returns, it is surely a game changer in the property space in Zimbabwe. This offer is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, where one can have his/her cake and eat it too.

“Do not miss out on this opportunity to invest in Zimbabwe’s future and secure a share of the profits,” he said.

WestProp is concluding a deal with an international hotel brand currently not in Zimbabwe that has amassed enough experience in the marketing and managing of serviced apartment accommodations, popularly known as Air BnBs.

Millennium Heights Block 5 will have amenities such as concierge services and exclusive recreational facilities for the occupants on the Block, such as a swimming pool, kids play area, and gym, to name but a few.

Magaya In Academic Fraud

By Munacho Gwamanda- Controversial preacher and Yadah FC owner Walter Magaya has found himself embroiled in yet another scandal, this time over his disqualification from contesting the ZIFA presidency due to failing to meet the basic educational requirement of five ‘O’ Levels.

Magaya’s disqualification was revealed in his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), where he is challenging the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)’s decision to bar him from the January 25 elections.

ZIFA’s rules demand that presidential candidates possess at least five ordinary-level passes—a benchmark Magaya could not meet.

In his appeal, Magaya admitted to failing to submit the required O’ Level certificates, claiming instead that his “superior qualifications,” including a marketing certificate, marketing diploma, and theology diploma, should suffice.

“The appellant seeks a determination that his qualifications, which include a higher certificate in Marketing, a national diploma in Marketing, and a higher certificate in Theology (Cum Laude), exceed the requirement of five O’ Levels,” reads his submission to CAS.

Despite these claims, Magaya’s lack of basic academic qualifications disqualified him from the elections, prompting him to argue that the rule was discriminatory and designed to exclude certain candidates.

Magaya has not only approached CAS but has also filed an urgent application in the High Court to halt the ZIFA elections until his case is resolved.

Justice Tawanda Chitapi deemed the matter urgent, with proceedings set for Friday.

In his appeal to CAS, Magaya argued that ZIFA’s requirement was unfair and contrary to the statutes governing football administration.

He wants CAS to overturn ZIFA’s decision, allow him to contest, and compel the football body to pay his legal costs.

Magaya’s legal woes extend beyond the ZIFA saga.

Critics have questioned his credibility, pointing to past controversies involving allegations of fraud and deception.

This latest revelation adds to a growing list of scandals that have dogged his career as both a preacher and a businessman.

Magaya is not alone in his fight. Firebrand politician Temba Mliswa, who was also disqualified from the ZIFA elections, has filed a separate legal challenge.

Mliswa’s matter is also being treated as urgent and is set to be heard this week.

As Magaya’s credentials face public scrutiny, his fight to contest the ZIFA presidency raises questions about standards in football administration and the lengths some are willing to go to secure power.

Chimombe And Mpofu Denied Bail Again

By Court Correspondent | ZimEye | High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda has once again denied business partners Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu bail.

The two are accused of abusing US$7 million public funds in a botched presidential goats deal.

Kwenda said the two face a 20 year jail term if convicted because they abused public funds.

Regarding the seriousness, I have looked at the penalty…the presumptive penalty for fraud is 20 years.

Prof Lovemore Madhuku

“If a fraud involves public funds and involves a huge prejudice the sentence will be severe.

“I’m persuaded that the presumptive sentence knowledge of the penalty remains, and is likely to influence the applicants to flee,” he said.

“A presumptive sentence is where the court starts from. It must consider that sentence first, it can go down it can go down.

“These sentencing guidelines tend to be followed. In this case it provides for two presumptive sentences.

Kwenda said where the prejudice is insignificant it can be six months.

“Where the item, funds, or property is of high value or state funds, it will be an aggravating factor.

“If the fraud is committed by an offender who is holder of a public office, it is an aggravating actor and the court should start from there.

“If it involves public funds, it is an aggravating actor and the court should start from there,” he said.

“I do accept the submission by the State that the situation has turned for the worst in the sense the applicants have another pending matter which also involves abuse of public funds. This weighs against them.

“I therefore find that two of the compelling reasons by the magistrate that the applicants are facing a serious offence and can interfere …the application bail cannot succeed and I therefore dismiss it,” he ruled.-ZimEye

Businessman Nabbed For Theft Of Trust Property

A local businessman allegedly disposed of property worth US$100 000 in violation of a liquidation order which had been issued by the High Court.

Brian Kudakwashe Matongo was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Isheanesu Matova yesterday.

The complainant is Albitrim Enterprises, which is being represented by Oscar Tafadzwa Gasva, who is a legal practitioner and was appointed as the liquidator.

The court heard that on October 16, 2019, the High Court granted an order, which placed the company under a provisional liquidation.

On December 18, 2019, the High Court issued another order, placing Albritim Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd under liquidation and Gasva was nominated as the liquidator.

The company declared its assets as two Freight Liners FLD 120 Horses, registration numbers ADC 1047 & ADC 1048, one international Horse reg number ADC 7365, a Homemade Trailer registration ACZ 9845, a Tandem Local Trailer ACZ 9975 and a Trinity Local Semi Trailer registration number AEG 1774.

It is the State case that Matongo, knowing very well that an order by the High Court had been granted and that he was not supposed to conduct any business or to dispose any of the assets without the knowledge and permission of Gasva, violated this order by disposing the assets and converted the money to his own personal use.

The total value stolen was US$100 000 and nothing was recovered.

Four Deadly Traffic Violations to Avoid…

As we navigate our daily commutes, it’s essential to recognize the most common and deadly traffic violations that put ourselves and others at risk.

By being aware of these hazards, we can take proactive steps to prevent becoming the next victim. In this article, we’ll explore the importance of safety advocacy and highlight four critical traffic violations to avoid.

The Importance of Safety Advocacy

Safety advocacy is both an individual and collective responsibility. It requires each of us to take ownership of our actions on the road and look out for the well-being of others. By being mindful of our own behavior and promoting safe driving practices, we can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and fatalities.

Four Deadly Traffic Violations to Avoid

  1. Avoid Following Too Closely

Tailgating is a leading cause of rear-end collisions, which can result in serious injuries or fatalities. Leaving insufficient space between your vehicle and the one in front of you reduces your reaction time and increases the likelihood of a crash. Maintain a safe following distance of at least 2-3 seconds to ensure you have enough time to react to unexpected situations.

  1. Wrong Lane Driving

Driving in the wrong lane or failing to stay in your designated lane can lead to head-on collisions or sideswipes. Always check your mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes, and signal your intentions clearly to other drivers.

  1. Disregarding Traffic Lights

Running red lights or ignoring traffic signals is a reckless behavior that puts everyone at risk. Come to a complete stop at stop signs and red lights, and always yield to pedestrians and other vehicles.

  1. Carelessness on the Road

Distracted driving, speeding, and aggressive driving are all forms of carelessness that can have devastating consequences. Stay focused on the road, avoid using your phone while driving, and maintain a safe speed according to road conditions.

Take Control of Your Safety

By being aware of these common and deadly traffic violations, you can take proactive steps to protect yourself and others on the road. Remember, safety advocacy is a collective responsibility, and we must all work together to promote a culture of safe driving.

Stay vigilant, follow traffic laws, and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can reduce the number of accidents and fatalities on our roads.

17 Arrested For Taking Photos At Harare Crash Scene

By A Correspondent

Seventeen people were arrested on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, for taking photographs with their smartphones at the scene of a road traffic accident in central Harare.

The individuals, who were caught capturing images of the wreckage, were apprehended by law enforcement officers responding to the crash.

While the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident, it follows a broader crackdown on such activities.

In 2024, the ZRP warned the public against taking photos at accident scenes, citing concerns over privacy, safety, and the potential for hindering emergency response efforts.

This latest action serves as a reminder of the continued enforcement of those regulations.

Understanding the Random Multiplier in Aviator: How It Works And Affects Your Bets

Gamblers from Ghana love gambling games, especially if you can not only have a good time, but also win big. One of these games is aviator game online – a crash game where everything is decided by a mysterious random multiplier. But what is this multiplier and how does it affect your bets? If you think it’s just a random number that pops up on the screen, you’re wrong. It’s much more interesting – and useful for those who want to not only play, but win.

Let’s understand how this multiplier works and what it means for a Ghanaian player who is about to catch his jackpot.

Aviator: Why the Plane Leaves and You Are Left with No Winnings

Imagine this: you have placed a bet in Aviator game online, the aircraft starts to take off, the multiplier starts to increase: 1.1x, 1.2x, 1.5x….. If you take your winnings at 2.0x multiplier, your bet will double – you’ll get 20 GHS. But at 1.4x, the aircraft disappears from sight.

What happened? You missed the moment to cashout – the very moment when you should have pressed the button and taken your money. But this begs the question: why did the plane stop at that particular multiplier? Did someone at the casino hit the “time to drop” button? No, the random multiplier – the algorithm that predicts when the game will crash – determines that.

Principles of Random Multiplier Operation in Aviator

The best part is that the multiplier in Aviator sportybet Ghana is created using Provally Fair technology. This means that the casino cannot manipulate the result – everything is fair and transparent.

Here’s how it works:

  • Server Seed – An encrypted code that runs through the casino;
  • Client Seed – your unique code that is created on your phone;
  • Nonce is a counter that increases with each new delivery.
  • All this data is combined and a random multiplier is created based on it. After each round you can check the fairness of the multiplier by clicking on the “Prove Fair” button in the game interface.

Why It’s Important to Understand the Random Multiplier

If you think that understanding multipliers is for programmers who like to dig into code, no! This knowledge is essential for every player who wants to maximise their winnings.

The following are three basic principles of how the random multiplier works that can change the way you approach the game.

Each Round is Independent of the Results

Many players make the mistake of thinking that if the multiplier is low in several rounds in a row, it will definitely go higher in the next one. This is a myth. The algorithm works in such a way that each multiplier changes anew and does not depend on the previous results.

The Casino Can’t Control the Multiplier

You can be sure that no one sits at the control panel and decides when your aircraft will go down. Everything is decided by an algorithm that cannot be tampered with.

The Multiplier Determines Your Winnings

The higher the multiplier, the more money you can earn. But here it is important not to be greedy and press the “Take” button in time. Otherwise, the plane may leave without you.

The Three Main Strategies for Playing Aviator: Which to choose?

Ghanaian players, like all gamblers, fall into two categories: some want to make a big score, while others prefer to collect small but steady winnings. Here are three strategies that you can use in Aviator game online

  1. Conservative Strategy

It consists of the player taking the money in small multipliers – from 1.5x to 2.0x.

Example: You placed a bet of 20 GHS. At odds of 2.0x you took the winnings and received 40 GHS.

ProsMinuses
Less risk of losing money Stable incomeLimited winnings
  • Aggressive Strategy

The idea is that the player is waiting for high multipliers – from 5.0x and above. This is a risky option, but if it works, you can earn solid money.

Example: You made a bid of 20 GHS. The aeroplane arrived at 10.0x and generated 200 GHS.

ProsMinuses
Opportunity for big winnings Excitement and suspenseHigh risk of losing money

3. Automatic Cashout

This strategy assumes that the player sets the auto-cashout function to a certain multiplier – for example, 2.5x. Once the multiplier reaches this value, the system automatically calculates your winnings.

ProsMinuses
Less emotions and mistakes Handy for beginnersYou can run a higher multiplier

Personal Experience of a Real Player from Ghana

Let’s take a look at a true story. Kofi, a resident of Accra force, one day decided to try his hand at the Aviator game. He placed a bet of 50 GHS and decided to wait for a multiplier of 3.0x. When the multiplier reached 2.9x, he began to have doubts – should he take his money or is there more left? The plan eventually collapsed at 2.95x and Kofi was left with nothing.

“It was a great lesson,” says Kofi. “Now I always take my money out at a predetermined multiplier and don’t take any more unnecessary risks.”

How to Reduce Risks When Playing in Aviator: Tips for Beginners

To keep your bets from turning into a lottery, follow this simple advice:

  • Set a limit on wins and losses. This will help you avoid large losses;
  • Don’t chase special multipliers. It is better to choose small wins on a regular basis;
  • Study the statistics of previous rounds. Although the multiplier is random, understanding the insights can help;
  • Use the auto-cashout feature. This will reduce the risk of errors due to emotions;
  • Keep track of your bankroll. Do not play with money you cannot afford to lose.

Conclusion

Understanding the random multiplier is not just theoretical knowledge, it is a real tool that can help you make better decisions in Aviator game. Don’t forget that the main principle of gambling is fun. If you approach betting wisely, Aviator will bring you not only adrenaline, but also pleasant winnings.

Remember that every round starts with a clean slate. Today the plane may fall early, but tomorrow it may soar above the clouds. The key is to know when to stop and take your case.

Zanu PF Heavyweight Slams Constitutional Amendment

By A Correspondent

In a bold statement on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Killer Zivhu, a prominent Zanu PF figure and former MP for Chivi South, expressed strong opposition to the proposed constitutional amendment aimed at allowing President Emmerson Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030, beyond the current constitutional limit of 2028.

Zivhu emphasized that such changes were unnecessary and could have far-reaching negative consequences for the nation.

“Reckless constitutional amendments can have devastating effects! Let’s prioritize logic over emotions to prevent job losses, company closures & social unrest,” Zivhu warned during an impassioned speech. “Our constitution is our future.

Let’s do it right!” His comments reflect concerns over the potential for instability and the long-term repercussions of hastily enacted changes, especially with regards to the extension of presidential terms.

Zivhu’s remarks come amid growing debate over the proposed amendment, which seeks to extend President Mnangagwa’s term by an additional two years, allowing him to stay in office until 2030.

The current constitution stipulates that Mnangagwa’s second term ends in 2028, after which he would no longer be eligible for re-election under the two-term limit.

“Zimbabwe has a complex history of constitutional reform,” Zivhu noted, reflecting on the nation’s past efforts.

“The 2000 referendum was rejected, and the 2013 constitution was designed to promote democracy and stability.

Why are we now pushing for another amendment, particularly one that extends the presidency? Saka mava kuda imwe yeyi futi?” he added, questioning the logic behind attempting to amend the constitution to favor the ruling party’s agenda.

Zivhu’s comments have sparked wider discussion regarding the direction of constitutional reform in Zimbabwe and the potential consequences of altering the nation’s legal framework once again.

Critics argue that such changes should be approached cautiously to avoid undermining the integrity of the constitution, while proponents believe that amendments are necessary to address evolving political and economic realities.

As the debate intensifies, Zimbabweans are left to weigh the risks and benefits of further constitutional changes, particularly in relation to the extension of presidential terms.

Mnangagwa Owns Zanu PF, Claims Youth Leader

It Can’t… Nelson Chamisa Dismisses Mnangagwa Bid to Extend Term of Office

By A Correspondent

Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has firmly rejected President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s attempt to extend his presidency beyond 2028. The move has sparked tension as hardliners within the ruling Zanu PF party push for a constitutional amendment to allow Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030.

Under Zimbabwe’s current constitution, Mnangagwa’s second term is set to conclude in 2028.

However, factions within Zanu PF argue that an amendment is necessary to extend his tenure, citing various reasons, including political stability and economic recovery. These calls have intensified as the party prepares for the next presidential election.

On Thursday, Chamisa, the leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), responded to the push with a defiant statement: “IT CAN’T! #TotangiraIpapo #SiqaliselaKhonapho #Godisinit,” asserting that the constitution should be respected and that the democratic process must not be undermined.

Chamisa’s remarks highlight the ongoing political struggle between Zimbabwe’s ruling party and opposition groups, with Chamisa himself being a prominent contender in the upcoming 2023 elections. The debate over the president’s term extension has become a significant point of contention, further dividing the political landscape in the country.

The opposition leader’s stance on the issue reflects his broader commitment to upholding constitutionalism and democracy, signaling that any attempt to alter the term limits will face strong resistance from his camp.

Hopewell Flunks Credibility Test On Accusing Chamisa Of Doing What He, Chin’ono, Alone Did

HOPEWELL CHIN’ONO ALLEGATIONS THAT CHAMISA BLOCKED BITI AND SIKHALA: FACT CHECK

Veteran former MP Rusty Markham has laid to rest allegations by Hopewell Chin’ono @daddyhope that suggest he was imposed by party leader NelsonChamisa to replace Tendai Biti in the 2023 elections. Chin’ono claims Chamisa blocked Biti and Job Sikhala @JobSikhala1’s careers.

The Chin’ono tweet

Rusty Markham’s response is confirmed by several videos that suggest that it is Chin’ono himself who has used the journalism tag to shipwreck not just the two MPs, but the entire civil society which he has repeatedly accused of corruption with western embassies, and accused it of causing tension with the Ministry of Defence since 2018-2024.

In his response Markham states that he has never been ordered to what Chin’ono alleges (see screenprint).

“I was never told not to contest against @BitiTendai and not to retire by anyone,” he writes.

“I am my own man and my principles do not get swayed,” he concludes.

@daddyhope has failed to respond.

Meanwhile, Chin’ono has other controversies, lingering-

  1. He accuses the Opposition of blocking his Govt In Exile Clinic in Aug 2024, saying he was about to use his £3 million-wealth to fund treatments for elderly citizens, yet he can’t pay a paltry $15,000 for his former employer Geoff Nyarota’s surgery, who’s only later rescued by Wicknell Chivayo.
  2. He fails to respond to evidence by Rusty Markham that the latter was never instructed by Chamisa or anyone to block Biti.
  3. He (Chin’ono) himself was captured on a recording with Tafadzwa Musekiwa at Thomas Mapfumo’s show in July 2022, personally crashing Job Sikhala’s career with gossip feeding a fake Nelson-Mandela persecution ego that suggests Chamisa is the one causing his (Job’s) suffering.
  4. It is Chin’ono himself who’s crashed the entire opposition’s career by advising the Defence Ministry to regularly descend on it to reduce tension in the period 2018-2024.
  5. It is Chin’ono himself who has celebrated the crashing of the opposition after these deployments, repeatedly saying the opposition are now corrupted such that they will now “do nothing other than tweet.”
  6. It is Chin’ono himself who’s been cited many times for using the journalism tag to silence freedom of expression.
  7. Chin’ono stands accused as a Daddy character, a manipulator, who only rose to prominence on a lie that one of the first whistleblowers accusing him over grooming, and cheque fraud allegations, an NHS expert and former ZimEye presenter, Grace Mupfurutsa, was sent by the Mnangagwa regime to a media outlet called Gambakwe in Aug 2020, something that as is clear, never happened.

Zimbabweans Exempted From English Proficiency Tests At Top Canadian University

By Munacho Gwamanda- Zimbabwean students have been granted an exemption from English proficiency tests for admission to the University of Alberta, one of Canada’s leading universities.

This decision underscores the recognition of Zimbabwe’s educational resilience and English-speaking foundation.

Ghana and Kenya are joining Zimbabwe on the exemption list, reflecting broader efforts to acknowledge English as the medium of instruction in many African countries.

Dr Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, an academic and advocate, revealed the development on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He shared:

“On April 15, 2024, I contacted the University of Alberta once again, two years after my initial request to have Nigeria added to the list of countries exempted from the English language test. While Nigeria was eventually included on that list, I used the opportunity to advocate for the addition of Ghana, Zimbabwe, and other English-speaking African countries. I am happy to see that Ghana, Zimbabwe, and Kenya have now been added to the list of countries exempt from the English proficiency test at the University of Alberta.”

Dr. Igbalajobi also thanked colleagues, including Elmond Bandauko from Zimbabwe, for their support in the advocacy that began in 2022.

The University of Alberta lists Zimbabwe as an under-recognized English-speaking country for graduate admissions. According to the university’s official page:

“Applicants from these countries are exempt from providing further English language proficiency documentation.”

For details, visit University of Alberta Admissions.

Zimbabwe’s recognition on this list highlights the nation’s long-standing tradition of prioritizing education, even amid economic and political challenges. The country boasts one of the highest literacy rates in Africa, a legacy of its post-independence emphasis on universal education.

Zimbabweans’ academic performance internationally reflects this resilience and commitment to education.

The exemption marks a milestone for Zimbabwean students aspiring to pursue higher education in Canada, removing a significant barrier and validating their educational foundation.

Venâncio Mondlane’s Wed Night Nation Address

Very well. Good evening. We are now live from the official page of Venâncio Mondlane. I hope the lighting and sound conditions are perfect for you at home watching this program. But surely, many of you were caught off guard, by surprise. So, I would like everyone connected to this page at the moment to share it with at least 30 people, 30 groups, 30 relatives, 30 friends, or 30 colleagues. And especially share it in groups. We have many groups out there, especially WhatsApp groups, which are very common these days, as well as Facebook, Instagram, and Hex (Twitter) groups. Share it via email, regular messages—there are many ways for more people to follow this live session.

Very well. What are we going to do? Well, if you’ve just joined, you’re now on the official page of Venans and Molhar, the largest Facebook page of a politician from the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP). So you’re on the right page, the right platform, to have a little conversation today. This will be a very short live session because I will announce today when the real live session will take place.

Alright, production, do we have comments already? How many people are live with us right now? Approximately 30,000? Wow! In such a short time, we already have 15,000 people live. Very well. Since today’s live session is very short, let’s go straight to the point.

For those of you just connecting now, I ask that you share this live link with at least 30 people, 30 groups, 30 friends, colleagues, or relatives. Okay? May God bless Mozambique, bless each Mozambican, and let the great light that God promised to bring to Mozambique shine brightly, turning this nation into a great one. We thank and praise the Lord. Amen.

Friends, what do we have today? First, if you’ll allow me, I want to deeply thank the Mozambicans who have been out on the streets demonstrating since Monday, clearly showing that they remain firm and determined in standing for electoral truth, justice, and integrity. They represent the true Mozambique—not a fake Mozambique, not a copied Mozambique, but the original and genuine Mozambique we all dream of for the future. I extend my deep solidarity, open heart, and a strong embrace to those on the streets.

To all the families who lost loved ones—children, parents—brutally massacred by the Rapid Intervention Unit (UIR) or the Defense and Security Forces, I send a heartfelt embrace. Today, we witnessed an inauguration—not of the elected candidate but of the one appointed by the Constitutional Council—which was nothing short of a theatrical performance, a circus-like spectacle. It was supposed to be open to the public, but it was completely militarized, with police aggression against women, including my mother, who was brutally attacked by the UIR today.

The images are now going viral worldwide, showing incredible brutality. This is not the kind of country we want for our future. We are fighting for a peaceful, honest, and just Mozambique—a nation where the police protect rather than oppress, educate rather than kill. This is the Mozambique we aspire to leave for our children and grandchildren.

The inauguration of the Constitutional Council’s appointee felt more like a funeral at a cemetery than a festive celebration. Everything was militarized, closed off, and filled with fear and threats. In stark contrast, when I was inaugurated on January 9, it was in an open, public space, close to the people, celebrating with everyone freely. What we witnessed today was a sad, restricted, and oppressive event.

However, today, I mainly wanted to share with you that I’ve gained a new student. My career as a teacher has proven successful. Listening to the governance plans of this police-appointed candidate, I realized that 95% of his measures are copied from my campaign proposals—ideas he plagiarized, down to the punctuation. Yet, none of my anti-corruption measures were included. This proves that he plans to maintain the same fraudulent system, starting with a Constitutional Council that international observers have already deemed illegitimate.

We are now faced with a government led by someone who cannot form a sentence without reading from notes, a government built on imitation and fraud.

Despite this, on Friday at 3 PM, I will host a live session on this page to outline governance measures for the first 100 days of my elected mandate. These measures will guide both the public and private sectors and show the path Mozambique must follow. I encourage everyone to join this session. Even the candidate inaugurated today should take notes.

Thank you to all Mozambicans. May God’s blessings embrace our nation. See you on Friday at 3 PM on the official page and YouTube channel of Venância Mourão. A warm hug to all. Goodbye!

More CCC MPs Exposed In Mnangagwa Farm Meeting

By Munacho Gwamanda – Twenty of the 32 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) MPs and senators who attended a field day at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm in Kwekwe on Sunday have been identified.

All attendees were appointed to parliament by Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the CCC’s interim secretary general.

Of the 32 lawmakers present, 20 were not on the original party list for the 2023 elections, including Tshabangu himself.

The CCC holds 115 parliamentary seats—88 in the National Assembly and 27 in the Senate.

ZANU PF-aligned social media platforms released a list of 34 CCC lawmakers allegedly present, including Ellen Shiriyedenga and Truswell Chikomo, both of whom denied attending.

The event, organised by Mnangagwa’s office, bypassed parliamentary protocol, with provincial ministers such as Midlands Minister Owen Ncube spearheading invitations. A letter from Ncube outlined the invitation:

“His Excellency…will be hosting Members of Parliament at his Precabe Farm, Sherwood, Kwekwe…”

Tshabangu gained prominence after the August 2023 elections, when he declared himself interim secretary general, orchestrating recalls of CCC representatives and filling vacancies with loyalists.

His actions led to ZANU PF dominating subsequent by-elections.

Most lawmakers attending the farm event were Tshabangu’s appointees, while 83 CCC members boycotted, viewing the gathering as a partisan initiative to bolster Mnangagwa’s political agenda.

Herald Names ED’s Murder-Cover-Up-Man, Sengezo Tshabangu, Leader of the Opposition

By Farai D Hove | In a development that further confirms long-standing suspicions that Sengezo Tshabangu has always been an undercover agent for ZANU PF, Zimbabwe’s state-owned Herald newspaper has bestowed upon him the title of “Leader of the Opposition.” This extraordinary move has left opposition supporters outraged and questioning Tshabangu’s loyalties, given his notorious history of covering up election-related violence and murders orchestrated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime.

Sengezo Tshabangu with Jacob Mudenda

Tshabangu’s ZANU PF Ties Exposed

Tshabangu’s controversial role as Mnangagwa’s loyal operative dates back to 2008, during Zimbabwe’s blood-stained election period. He has been implicated in concealing the regime’s brutal post-election violence, including incidents where Mnangagwa himself admitted deploying soldiers to crush dissent and alter election outcomes.

One of the most damning incidents occurred on December 4, 2023, when investigative journalist Simba Chikanza caught Tshabangu red-handed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, allegedly orchestrating a cover-up operation for ZANU PF following the murder of Bishop Tapfumaneyi Masaya. This brazen act reinforced what many had long suspected: Tshabangu was not merely a ZANU PF collaborator but a key player in protecting the regime from accountability for its atrocities.

Herald’s Unprecedented Move

In its article, the Herald portrayed Tshabangu as a bridge-builder, applauding his engagement with ZANU PF as fostering “a healthy democracy.” The state propaganda mouthpiece conveniently omitted Tshabangu’s well-documented involvement in shielding Mnangagwa from the fallout of politically motivated killings, instead framing him as a “mature” opposition leader committed to advancing national development.

The Herald even quoted Tshabangu defending his overt collaboration with Mnangagwa, stating, “It is certainly strange reasoning to suggest that an opposition which engages with the ruling party is ‘selling out.’” This statement has sparked widespread criticism, with opposition activists labeling Tshabangu a Trojan horse in their midst.

Tshabangu’s Loyalty to Mnangagwa: A Long-Running Affair

Tshabangu’s allegiance to Mnangagwa is well-documented. During the 2018 Motlanthe Commission hearings, tasked with investigating post-election violence, Tshabangu delivered a surreal defense of Mnangagwa, describing him as “lovely” and portraying him as a victim of state conspiracies.

“In 2008, political violence erupted due to disputed elections, and the army and state agents were at the forefront of killing people,” Tshabangu said. “Yet in 2017, when our lovely Mnangagwa, now the President, was almost killed with ice cream in Gwanda, where were these state agents? President Mnangagwa wants things done professionally; this is why he put this Commission in place.”

Critics were quick to point out the absurdity of Tshabangu’s testimony, given that Mnangagwa himself publicly admitted deploying soldiers to suppress protests, resulting in numerous deaths. Tshabangu’s remarks were viewed as part of a broader strategy to sanitize the President’s image while demonizing internal dissent within ZANU PF.

Opposition in Crisis

The CCC, Zimbabwe’s main opposition party, now faces a serious credibility crisis with Tshabangu at the center of controversy. While CCC activists accuse him of betraying the party’s cause, Tshabangu continues to defend his interactions with Mnangagwa’s government, claiming they are necessary for national progress.

However, many believe Tshabangu’s collaboration with ZANU PF goes far beyond mere political engagement. From his involvement in election-related violence cover-ups to his role in shaping narratives that absolve Mnangagwa of blame, Tshabangu has consistently acted as an extension of the ruling party’s machinery.

A Troubling Legacy

Tshabangu’s elevation by the Herald underscores the depth of ZANU PF’s infiltration of opposition politics. For years, Tshabangu has shielded Mnangagwa’s regime from scrutiny, earning his place as a trusted agent within the ruling party. His new title as “Leader of the Opposition” is seen by many as the culmination of his covert mission to weaken Zimbabwe’s democratic institutions from within.

As Zimbabweans process this latest twist, the question remains: how long can Tshabangu continue to masquerade as an opposition figure while serving the interests of ZANU PF? For those who have lost loved ones to political violence, the Herald’s declaration is a chilling reminder of the regime’s ability to manipulate and subvert even its supposed adversaries.

Linda Masarira Speaks On Motion To Amend Term Limits …

Statement on the Motion to Amend Term Limits for Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Government Officials

15 January 2025
As Labour Economists and Afrikan Democrats (LEAD), we have consistently advocated for governance reforms that reflect the unique cultural, historical, and societal realities of Zimbabwe. The proposed motion to amend term limits in the Constitution provides an opportunity to rethink and redefine our governance system to better serve the needs of Zimbabweans and foster an egalitarian society. It is time for us Zimbabweans to have an honest dialogue about governance systems that truly work for us as a nation, free from external impositions.
Western democracy, with its emphasis on elections and rigid term limits, is a foreign concept that was imposed on African nations through donor-funded constitutional processes. These processes often fail to capture the aspirations of the people, instead reflecting the interests of external stakeholders and civil society organizations funded by these donors. It is no wonder that these systems have resulted in cycles of political instability, economic stagnation, and societal polarization.
Zimbabwe must chart a new path, one that is informed by the principles of Pan-Afrikanism, Afrocentric governance, and inclusive development. Countries such as China, Japan, and Russia have implemented governance systems that prioritize continuity, long-term planning, and cultural relevance. Zimbabwe can and must explore alternatives that work for its people, rather than clinging to systems that do not align with our realities.
The Necessity of Public Engagement
Any changes to the governance system, including term extensions, must be informed by the will of the people. Public engagement is not merely a formality but a necessity for building trust and ensuring inclusivity. LEAD calls for a national dialogue that engages communities at all levels, rural and urban, youth and elders, workers and entrepreneurs to collectively decide on a governance system that reflects their aspirations.
This dialogue should include:
Nationwide Consultations
Town hall meetings, focus groups, and surveys to gather the views of diverse communities.
Educational Campaigns
Initiatives to inform citizens about the implications of term extensions and alternative governance models.
Stakeholder Participation
Inclusion of traditional leaders, religious groups, labor unions, youth organizations, and other civic groups to ensure all voices are heard.
A Clear Roadmap for Term Extensions
If term extensions are to be considered, they must be part of a broader roadmap that addresses:
National Development Goals
Clear benchmarks for economic growth, social equity, and infrastructure development linked to extended leadership terms.
Checks and Balances
Mechanisms to prevent abuse of power, such as periodic performance reviews and citizen oversight bodies.
Accountability Frameworks
Transparent processes to ensure that extended terms are used to benefit the nation, not entrench individual power.
Exploring Alternative Governance Systems
LEAD believes that Zimbabwe can draw inspiration from governance models that prioritize cultural alignment, inclusivity, and long-term development:

  1. Constitutional Monarchy with Elected Executive Powers Traditional leaders play a ceremonial role while an elected executive manages state affairs, blending modern governance with cultural heritage.
  2. Meritocratic Governance
Inspired by China, where leadership is based on proven competence and performance rather than rigid electoral cycles.
  3. Hybrid Systems
Combining elements of democracy with indigenous decision-making structures, such as community councils and traditional courts.
  4. Proportional Representation
A system where all groups, regardless of size, have fair representation in governance, promoting inclusivity and reducing political polarization.
    Conclusion
This motion challenges Zimbabwe to confront the limitations of its current governance system and engage in a transformative dialogue about its future. As LEAD, we remain committed to fostering a system that is inclusive, egalitarian, and reflective of the aspirations of all Zimbabweans. Let us seize this moment to chart a path that prioritizes national cohesion, sustainable development, and the empowerment of all citizens.

Chelsea Drop Crucial Points

Sports Correspondent

The Premier League saw several unexpected results over the weekend, with Chelsea and Manchester City being held to draws by Bournemouth and Brentford, respectively.

At the City Ground, Nottingham Forest secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Liverpool, thanks to Chris Wood’s 13th Premier League goal of the season. Wood’s impressive form has him just one goal shy of his seasonal best in the competition.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s struggles continued as they dropped points for the fifth consecutive time, being held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. Cole Palmer’s impressive performance was a bright spot for the Blues, as he became the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard to reach 20 goals and assists in the Premier League in consecutive seasons.

West Ham United, under new manager Graham Potter, secured a comfortable 3-2 win over Fulham, with the Hammers scoring with both of their first two shots in the Premier League under Potter’s tenure.

The biggest upset of the weekend, however, came at the Gtech Community Stadium, where Brentford came from behind to draw 2-2 with reigning champions Manchester City. The result marked the first time this season that City have failed to win consecutive league games.

As the Premier League season heats up, these unexpected results have thrown the title race wide open, with several teams still in contention.

Another Army General Dies

Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba

By Munacho Gwamanda-The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has announced the death of Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba, raising further speculation about the spate of deaths among senior military officials linked to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Major General Siziba passed away early this morning at KG6 Hospital in Harare after a protracted battle with cancer.

He was 67.

In a statement, ZNA Deputy Director of Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Tichafa Mungofa, expressed condolences: “It is with a heavy heart that the Zimbabwe National Army announces the passing on of Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba this morning at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks Camp Hospital in Harare.”
Mourners are gathered at 572 Bulawayo Drive, Killarney, Bulawayo, and funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

Major General Siziba’s death adds to the growing list of high-ranking military officials who have died under unclear or contentious circumstances since President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rise to power through a military coup in 2017.

The coup, which ousted long-serving leader Robert Mugabe, was spearheaded by then-General Chiwenga.

The death toll of Chiwenga’s allies has stoked speculation about a shadowy campaign of political elimination.

Among the most notable were Foreign Minister Sibusiso Moyo, Agriculture Minister Perence Shiri, and over ten other senior military figures loyal to Chiwenga.

Tensions between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga have escalated as the President pushes for constitutional amendments to extend his tenure beyond the 2028 term limit.

Insiders claim this defies a 2017 post-coup agreement, under which Mnangagwa would serve two terms before handing over power to Chiwenga.
“Mnangagwa’s refusal to honor this agreement has alienated Chiwenga’s faction,” a senior Zanu PF official revealed. “The systematic sidelining of Chiwenga’s military allies is part of a broader strategy to consolidate Mnangagwa’s hold on power.”

Zanu PF insiders warn that Mnangagwa’s maneuvers could destabilize the fragile political balance.

The Vice President’s faction, comprising disillusioned military elites and marginalized party stalwarts, is reportedly weighing its options, with some analysts cautioning that another coup cannot be ruled out.

“Cornered, President Mnangagwa now needs formal parliamentary approval and military neutrality to remain in power beyond 2030,” political analyst Mutodi noted. “Chiwenga’s camp may see this as an opportunity to challenge his legitimacy.”

With Zanu PF’s history of internal power struggles often spilling into national crises, Mnangagwa’s determination to prolong his rule could plunge Zimbabwe into yet another chapter of uncertainty.

Military interventions, factional purges, and deepening instability loom as plausible outcomes of the escalating conflict.

Vice President Chiwenga was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.

Marry Mubaiwa’s Application for Permanent Stay Of Prosecution Drags On

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Top Harare lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa has blamed prosecution for stalling progress in a matter Marry Mubaiwa, vice president Constantino Chiwenga’s former wife is seeking permanent staying of her prosecution because of her ill health.

Mubaiwa last year approached the High Court seeking relaxation of her trial.

She made the same request at the lower court where magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka trashed her application, ruling that the former model is to blame for delaying her trial.

Marry Mubaiwa at court today

In a latest update, Mtetwa said the state has failed to upload documents that parties agreed with regards to a directive by the presiding judge, Pisirayi Kwenda who ordered some investigations before he decides whether Mubaiwa’s prosecution should be stopped or not.

As a result, the court could not sit on Wednesday.

Mtetwa told journalists that the court will now sit this Friday for the judge to be updated on where the investigations are.

“There was a case management today where there will be an update on the investigations which the judge said was necessary to be done before he can decide whether or not our application of permanent stay should succeed or not.

“So when we were last in court he said we should agree that investigation should proceed, and we exchanged correspondence and agreed on the issues and sent the issues to the prosecution department on 12 of December.

“Unfortunately for some reason they did not upload it or scan and send to the judge although it was an agreed document.

“So we are coming back on Friday 10 so that the judge can be updated on where we are with that process,”Mtetwa said in an interview.

Late last year Mtetwa applied for permanent stay of her prosecution submitting that she is always sick.

The model who is battling lymphodema had two of her limbs, the right hand and left leg amputated last year.

Her lawyer said her client is always in and out of hospital because of her condition.

She is on trial for attempting to kill the former Army General when he was sick and admitted at a hospital in South Africa.

Mubaiwa is also facing money laundering charges but her criminal cases have taken long due to her poor health.

Her lawyer said it would be best if her prosecution is stayed because the former model cannot even give her instructions.

A similar request was also made at the High Court.

Mtetwa insisted that her client has rights to a fair hearing and cannot be subjected to the dock in her current condition.

“Applicant cannot fully enjoy the right to a fair hearing which I am advised includes the right to be physically and mentally capable to follow the full proceedings, the capacity to give instructions to one’s legal representative throughout the proceedings and if put on her defence , the right to cogently testify on the issues raised in evidence and to generally give her version of events.

“I am able to say that the applicant is currently unable to fully exercise all of those rights due to all the issues I have raised above. In particular, I point out that with regards the money laundering case, the State papers were provided to the defence when the applicant was already on heavy medication, had already lost a limb and was trying to avert the loss of her leg.

“Consequently, she has been unable to give instructions on the documents supplied by the State in November, 2023 with the result that her legal team only has general instructions from the period of her arrest when no document had been provided save for the general allegations given on remand,” Mtetwa said.

Mtetwa had said it would be in the interest if justice if her client is given a break adding that the court has the inherent power to terminate uncompleted proceedings where exceptional circumstances exist and where continuation of the proceedings would result in miscarriage of justice and would be incapable of being redressed in any other manner.- ZimEye

Premier League Upsets: Chelsea and Manchester City Drop Points

By A Correspondent

Importance of Road Safety Advocacy…

We Will Resist Extension Of Mnangagwa’s Term Of Office, Chamisa Aide Declares

By A Correspondent

Former CCC Youth spokesperson Stephen Sarkozy Chuma has vehemently dismissed the Zanu PF regime’s attempts to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office beyond constitutional limits. Chuma’s strong stance comes as no surprise, given the widespread criticism of Mnangagwa’s presidency, which has been marred by economic chaos ¹.

Chuma took to social media to express his outrage, stating, “We are going to resist 2030 nonsense with venom of a puff adder. Mnangagwa has crossed the Rubicon. ED must stop this nonsense or we meet him in the streets just like November 2017.” He further emphasized that this time around, protesters would not march to Blue Roof, but directly to the state house to demand Mnangagwa’s removal.

Chuma’s words are a clear indication that the opposition will not take Mnangagwa’s bid for a third term lying down. The hashtag #DefyOrDie, which accompanied Chuma’s statement, suggests a sense of urgency and determination among the opposition ranks.

As Zimbabwe teeters on the brink of economic collapse, Mnangagwa’s attempts to cling to power are being met with growing resistance. With Chuma’s statement serving as a rallying cry, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold in the coming days. One thing is certain, however: the people of Zimbabwe will not go quietly into the night.

Tsvangirai Mobilizes Citizens to Resist Extension Of Mnangagwa’s Term Of Office

By A Correspondent

Norton Member of Parliament, Honourable Richard Tsvangirai, has strongly urged citizens to oppose the Zanu PF regime’s efforts to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office beyond the constitutional limits.

While Mnangagwa’s second term is scheduled to end in 2028, hardliners within the Zanu PF party are advocating for a postponement of the elections, enabling the President, often referred to as the “Crocodile,” to remain in power.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Tsvangirai emphasized the importance of public resistance, saying, “If this motion to extend terms is set to be tabled when Parliament opens, the reality is grim—ZANU-PF’s two-thirds majority makes it almost certain to pass. However, since such an amendment requires a referendum, this is where every citizen must stand up and mobilize.”

He further stated, “The future of our democracy cannot be left in the hands of a self-serving few. We need to come together, raise awareness, and ensure every voice is heard. A referendum is not just a vote—it’s an opportunity for the people to reclaim their power and reject the erosion of democratic principles. The time to organize and resist is now.”

Richard Tsvangirai, the son of the late Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) founding president, Morgan Tsvangirai, has positioned himself as a vocal advocate for democratic integrity and citizens’ rights in Zimbabwe.

Tshabangu Endorses Postponement Of Elections To 2030

By A Correspondent

Senator Sengezo Tshabangu, the controversial Secretary General of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has defended his visit to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm on Sunday, describing it as an act of solidarity.

Tshabangu’s remarks have sparked a mix of reactions, particularly in light of his endorsement of postponing Zimbabwe’s elections until 2030.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Tshabangu explained the significance of his visit, stating that it symbolized a new chapter in Zimbabwean politics.

“What happened on Sunday is a testament of a new era in our politics as we see the President bridging the gap between the ruling party and the opposition. It goes a long way in developing our nation because elections drain a lot of money.

Their deferment to 2030 is a welcome move,” Tshabangu said.

The CCC official faced criticism from some quarters for engaging with President Mnangagwa, with detractors questioning his motives.

However, Tshabangu remained resolute in his position, emphasizing that such acts should be viewed through the lens of unity and national progress.

“Fellows, we must embrace a culture of respect, unity, and tolerance. They are criticizing me for visiting President Mnangagwa’s farm over the weekend. Well, that’s the beauty of democracy, but I don’t regret that, and as long as he’s President and it’s for the good of Zimbabwe, I don’t mind,” Tshabangu stated.

His comments have reignited the debate around the future of Zimbabwe’s political landscape, particularly regarding the potential for postponing elections.

Tshabangu’s endorsement of a 2030 election date is a controversial stance, given the ongoing demands from opposition groups for free and fair elections in the near future.

As the political discourse continues to evolve, Tshabangu’s statements reflect his commitment to fostering dialogue between the ruling and opposition parties, though critics remain skeptical about the true implications of such moves for Zimbabwe’s democratic progress.

Mutodi Pushes For Constitutional Amendment To Extend Mnangagwa Presidential Term

By A Correspondent

A draft motion circulating in Zimbabwe, penned by Zanu PF’s Energy Mutodi (Bikita South) and Charles Moyo from the Citizens Coalition for Change, calls on Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi to urgently present a constitutional amendment bill before the House of Assembly.

The bill seeks to amend Section 95(b) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, allowing the presidential term to be extended for a period not exceeding five years, as determined by parliament.

The draft motion also proposes changes to Section 91(2) of the Constitution, enabling parliament to determine the additional period a president may continue in office after the expiry of their second term.

The petition states that President Emmerson Mnangagwa, whose current term is set to expire in 2028, deserves an extension for his contributions to Zimbabwe’s social and economic development.

Additionally, the motion proposes amendments to Sections 143(1) and 158(1)(a) to extend the terms of parliamentarians, allowing parliament to determine the duration of their office for the purposes of fostering economic development, peace-building, and government restructuring, including the potential creation or removal of government posts.

However, Moyo has since distanced himself from the petition.

” I have not signed such a document.Furthermore I have no knowledge of the document’s origins in any case.”

Military Coup Looms Amid Mnangagwa’s 2030 Power Grab

By Munacho Gwamanda-Zanu PF is accelerating plans to amend the constitution to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rule beyond 2028, a move that has heightened tensions within the ruling party and revived coup fears linked to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s faction.

The latest developments come in the wake of a meeting held at Mnangagwa’s Kwekwe farm on Sunday, where Zanu PF legislators and controversial opposition figure Sengezo Tshabangu, recognized by Zanu PF as the opposition leader in Parliament, endorsed Mnangagwa’s ambitions to remain in power until 2030.

Tshabangu, leading 15 opposition MPs, shocked many by publicly supporting Mnangagwa’s long-term agenda. “His Excellency in the morning said the role of opposition is to criticize constructively so the ruling party can stay in power. If we improve your stay in power and Zimbabweans are happy, let it be,” Tshabangu declared during the gathering.

Zanu PF heavyweights used the event to rally behind Mnangagwa’s extended rule.

Deputy Political Commissar Webster Shamu, known for sycophantic loyalty to former President Robert Mugabe, likened Mnangagwa’s leadership to an irreplaceable force.

Meanwhile, Mnangagwa loyalist Energy Mutodi described Shamu’s endorsement as a tacit acknowledgement that Mnangagwa’s extended stay is now official policy.

Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi told The Daily News that it’s lawful for Mnangagwa to rule forever.

“The Constitution allows for the deferment of elections if consensus among stakeholders deems it in the national interest.”

The push for constitutional amendments has reignited factional struggles in Zanu PF, particularly with Chiwenga’sfaction, which has grown increasingly discontent with Mnangagwa’s power consolidation.

The tensions trace back to a 2017 gentleman’s agreement between the two, forged during the coup that ousted Robert Mugabe.

Under the deal, Mnangagwa was to serve two terms before handing over power to Chiwenga.

Instead, Mnangagwa has systematically marginalized Chiwenga and his military allies. Key figures from Chiwenga’sfaction, including the late Foreign Minister Sibusiso Moyo and Agriculture Minister Perence Shiri, have died under suspicious circumstances.

Over ten high-ranking military officials loyal to Chiwenga have similarly met mysterious deaths since 2017.

Zanu PF insiders warn that Mnangagwa’s defiance of the agreement risks triggering another coup. “Cornered, President ED now needs formal Parliamentary approval and military neutrality to remain in power beyond 2030,” said Mutodi, hinting at the delicate balance Mnangagwa must maintain to avoid rebellion.

Chiwenga’s faction, comprising disillusioned military elites and sidelined party members, is reportedly growing restless.

Analysts believe the faction could exploit Mnangagwa’s 2030 agenda as a pretext to challenge his legitimacy, potentially through force.

With Zanu PF’s history of internal power struggles spilling into national instability, Mnangagwa’s push for prolonged rule may plunge Zimbabwe into yet another chapter of political uncertainty and military intervention.

Vice President Chiwenga could not be reached for comment.

How to Identify Value Bets: Unlocking Hidden Opportunities in Sports Betting

Sports betting is an exciting mix of strategy, analysis, and a little bit of luck. However, for those who want to go beyond casual betting and build long-term success, identifying value bets is essential. A value bet is a wager where the odds offered by the bookmaker underestimate the true probability of an event occurring. By learning how to identify value bets, you can unlock hidden opportunities in sports betting and turn the odds in your favor.

This guide will explain what value bets are, how to spot them, and the strategies to use for maximizing their potential.

What Is a Value Bet?

A value bet occurs when the odds offered by a bookmaker reflect a lower chance of an event happening than your analysis suggests. This creates a potential profit opportunity because the odds are not aligned with the actual likelihood of the outcome.

Example:

If a bookmaker offers odds of 3.0 (implying a 33.3% chance of winning) for a team to win, but your research indicates the team has a 50% chance of winning, this would be considered a value bet.

Betting on value rather than just guessing outcomes is what separates professional bettors from casual ones.

Why Value Betting Matters

1. Increases Long-Term Profitability: Value betting is a statistical approach to betting, ensuring that, over time, your wagers are likely to result in profit. Even with a win rate below 50%, betting on undervalued odds consistently can yield positive returns.

2. Maximizes Opportunities: Many casual bettors focus on favorites or popular picks, often overlooking markets where odds are mispriced. Identifying value bets allows you to capitalize on these overlooked opportunities.

3. Removes Emotional Bias: Value betting relies on data and analysis rather than emotional decisions, helping bettors avoid the trap of betting on their favorite teams or players without justification.

How to Identify Value Bets

Step 1: Understand Implied Probability: The first step in identifying value bets is understanding the concept of implied probability. Bookmakers set odds that reflect the likelihood of an event, expressed as a percentage.

Implied Probability=1Odds×100\text{Implied Probability} = \frac{1}{\text{Odds}} \times 100Implied Probability=Odds1×100

For example:

  • Odds of 2.0 imply a 50% probability.
  • Odds of 4.0 imply a 25% probability.

By calculating implied probabilities, you can compare them to your own estimates to find discrepancies. This approach can be particularly useful when analyzing opportunities in Texas sports betting, allowing you to identify value bets and improve your overall strategy.

Step 2: Analyze the Event: Accurate analysis is crucial to estimating the true probability of an event. Key factors to evaluate include:

  • Recent Form: How well are the teams or players performing in recent games?
  • Head-to-Head Statistics: Historical results between the competitors.
  • Injuries and Lineups: Missing key players can significantly alter a team’s chances.
  • External Conditions: Weather, venue, and other situational factors.

Combining these insights helps you determine a realistic probability for the outcome.

Step 3: Compare Your Probability with the Bookmaker’s: Once you have your estimated probability, compare it to the bookmaker’s implied probability. If your probability is higher, you’ve identified a value bet.

Example:

  • Bookmaker’s odds for Team A: 2.5 (implied probability: 40%).
  • Your calculated probability: 50%.
  • Result: The bet is undervalued and qualifies as a value bet.

Step 4: Use Tools and Resources: Several tools and platforms can assist in identifying value bets:

  • Odds Comparison Websites: Compare odds across multiple bookmakers to find the most favorable ones.
  • Betting Calculators: Calculate probabilities and potential payouts efficiently.
  • Advanced Analytics Tools: Platforms offering data-driven insights and predictions.

These tools streamline the process, saving time and improving accuracy.

Strategies for Value Betting

1. Focus on Specific Markets: Smaller or niche markets (e.g., lower-tier leagues, prop bets) are often less accurately priced compared to high-profile games. These markets can offer more value opportunities.

2. Exploit Public Bias: Public betting trends often inflate the odds for popular teams or players. Look for value in betting against heavily favored options when your analysis suggests otherwise.

3. Bet Early: Odds are typically less refined when first released. Early betting can help you secure better value before bookmakers adjust to market trends.

4. Use Bankroll Management: Even with value bets, not every wager will win. Manage your bankroll wisely by staking a small percentage (e.g., 1-2%) on each bet to minimize risk and ensure sustainability.

Common Mistakes in Value Betting

1. Ignoring Research: Value betting relies on thorough analysis. Skipping research can lead to overestimating probabilities and making poor wagers.

2. Misinterpreting Odds: Not calculating implied probability correctly can result in false assumptions about value.

3. Betting on Every Perceived Value: Not every discrepancy in odds indicates a true value bet. Focus on bets where you’re confident in your analysis.

4. Chasing Losses: Even with value bets, losses happen. Avoid increasing stakes or deviating from your strategy to recover losses quickly.

How to Measure Success in Value Betting

Value betting is a long-term strategy. Tracking your bets is essential to understanding its effectiveness. Keep records of:

  • Odds
  • Implied probabilities
  • Your estimated probabilities
  • Results

By reviewing your records, you can refine your approach and identify areas for improvement.

The Long-Term Benefits of Value Betting

Value betting isn’t about immediate wins; it’s about creating a sustainable, profit-driven approach to sports betting. By identifying bets where the odds are in your favor, you gain a statistical edge over bookmakers, allowing you to consistently grow your bankroll over time.

Conclusion

Value betting is one of the most effective strategies for unlocking hidden opportunities in sports betting. By understanding implied probability, conducting detailed analysis, and comparing odds, you can identify undervalued bets and gain an advantage over bookmakers.

Success in value betting requires patience, discipline, and a data-driven approach. With consistent effort and smart bankroll management, you can transform your sports betting experience into a profitable endeavor. Embrace the process, and watch as the hidden opportunities in sports betting reveal themselves.

Discovering Texas’s Top Casinos: A No-Frills Guide to Finding Quality Entertainment

Texas is well-known for its rich history and vibrant culture and is now witnessing a growing interest in casino gaming. While Texas has unique casino gambling regulations, there are plenty of opportunities for residents and visitors alike to find quality entertainment without traveling far. This guide covers everything you need to know to find top-quality gaming experiences in Texas and nearby regions.

Understanding Casino Laws in Texas

Before looking for the best casinos in Texas, it’s essential to understand its legal landscape. Unlike states with long histories of commercial casinos, Texas has strict gambling regulations; most forms are banned except tribal casinos, horse/dog racing, and state lotteries. Charitable bingo games may also be permitted under certain conditions.

Despite these constraints, Texans still have access to legal gambling options. Tribal casinos and racinos (race track casinos) provide slot machines, electronic games, and bingo. In contrast, players may need to travel out of state or find alternative solutions for table games like poker and blackjack.

Explore Texas Tribal Casinos

Texas is home to several tribal casinos run by Native American tribes under federal law. These casinos offer an array of gaming options and often include additional amenities like restaurants, live entertainment, and hotels. Though Texas may boast fewer casino establishments than other states, they provide legitimate and enjoyable experiences for visitors.

  • Gaming Options: Gaming at Texas tribal casinos generally includes electronic gaming machines, bingo, and, in some instances, Class II slot machines designed around bingo patterns rather than traditional slot mechanics; this complies with state regulations.
  • Gaming Aside: Casinos often serve as cultural hubs, giving visitors insight into Native American traditions and history. From live music performances to dining options, these establishments aim to offer visitors an all-around experience.

Discover Nearby State Casinos Worth Exploring

Oklahoma and Louisiana offer full-scale casinos with a wider range of games, making these destinations attractive to Texans due to their proximity and expansive offerings.

Nearby Options

Nearby states often boast venues with various slot machines, table games, poker rooms, and luxurious amenities that provide gamers with more gaming and entertainment choices. This location would make an excellent place for more diverse entertainment experiences.

  • Attractions: Many venues include entertainment spaces, spas, and recreational facilities for perfect weekend trips.
  • Unique Experiences: Riverboat-style casinos provide exceptional experiences while offering modern gaming.

Alternative Gaming Solutions

Texas offers alternative gaming solutions that don’t violate state laws, including charitable bingo halls, sweepstakes-based games, and social poker clubs.

  • Charitable Bingo: Halls Texas residents love bingo as an enjoyable pastime. Charitable organizations host charity bingo nights for local causes, with proceeds directly back into their communities. These family-friendly events feature relaxing gaming environments.
  • Social Poker Clubs: Legally operating social poker clubs work under the premise that they charge membership or seat fees instead of taking a percentage of the pot as profits. These venues provide professional environments for poker enthusiasts with top-quality tables and dealer services available for hire.

Tips to Select an Accurate Casino Experience

Consider these factors when selecting an area to visit. Doing so will ensure a quality experience:

  • Location is essential when planning a quick visit; tribe casinos in Texas or casinos close by might be more suitable.
  • Game Variety: Make sure the casino offers your preferred games, such as slot machines, poker, or bingo.
  • Amenities: If you plan an extended stay, search for establishments with additional amenities such as dining options, live entertainment, or lodging facilities.
  • Budget: It is wise to set a spending limit before going to avoid overspending. Many venues also offer promotions or rewards programs that enhance your experience.

Conclusion

While Texas may not boast many casinos, there are still numerous opportunities to enjoy quality gaming and entertainment within or near the state. Tribal casinos, visiting neighboring states, or trying other options like social poker clubs offer something for everyone when it comes to finding gaming venues that suit individual gaming tastes and needs. By researching your preferences and available venues, you mayfind your perfect gaming spot!

Mnangagwa Quickly Changes Constitution While Chiwenga Held Up Killing His Own Wife

Investigative Report: Power Consolidation Amidst Internal Turmoil in Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | Analysis | Harare, Zimbabwe – Recent developments in Zimbabwe reveal a troubling trajectory as President Emmerson Mnangagwa appears to be tightening his grip on power through constitutional amendments, while Vice President Constantino Chiwenga remains entangled in personal battles, including a high-profile feud with his estranged wife.

Constitutional Changes to Extend Presidential Rule.

An article published in The Herald dated January 15, 2025, highlights a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at extending Mnangagwa’s presidential term beyond the limits set by the constitution. This amendment could potentially allow him to remain in power well into the 2030s, sparking concerns over democratic backsliding.

The timing of these amendments is significant, as they coincide with a public narrative of Mnangagwa bridging divides between the ruling ZANU-PF and the opposition. However, critics argue that these moves reflect a calculated strategy to solidify control, bypassing any meaningful opposition. By shifting focus to constitutional reform, Mnangagwa is systematically dismantling checks and balances while maintaining the veneer of inclusivity and dialogue.

Chiwenga’s Fall: From Military General to Political Pet

Meanwhile, Vice President Chiwenga’s trajectory reveals a dramatic decline in stature and influence. Once celebrated as the military general who orchestrated the 2017 coup that brought Mnangagwa to power, Chiwenga now finds himself reduced to what some observers describe as a “precabe farm pet.” This term, charged with symbolic weight, reflects the sharp contrast between his past as a military strongman and his current diminished role under Mnangagwa’s leadership.

This stark reduction is seen as deliberate, orchestrated by Mnangagwa to neutralize Chiwenga as a political threat. Chiwenga’s focus on personal and legal battles, including his estranged wife’s high-profile court cases, has further eroded his political influence. Moreover, this development confirms the enduring effectiveness of intelligence operations over military might in consolidating power.

Mnangagwa, often accused of being a master strategist, has long been shadowed by reports alleging his ties to Rhodesian Intelligence since his entry into ZANU-PF structures in 1977. His failure to address these allegations raises further questions about his ability to manipulate individuals and systems with surgical precision. For many, this is evidence that warfare—no matter how decisive—stands no chance against an organized and covert intelligence operation.

A Strategic Neutralization

The evolution of Chiwenga’s role highlights Mnangagwa’s adeptness at consolidating power while marginalizing potential rivals. The 2018 bomb attack, which Chiwenga survived, marked the beginning of his political decline. Combined with his current distractions and diminished influence, this suggests that Mnangagwa has systematically stripped Chiwenga of his once-formidable power base.

Observers note that this is no coincidence. By redirecting public attention to constitutional amendments and internal conflicts within ZANU-PF, Mnangagwa has insulated himself from criticism while steadily dismantling potential threats to his rule. Chiwenga’s symbolic transformation from a general to a subdued political figure epitomizes Mnangagwa’s calculated moves to secure unchallenged control.

Conclusion: An Autocratic Future?

The juxtaposition of Mnangagwa’s strategic maneuvers and Chiwenga’s reduced role raises serious concerns about Zimbabwe’s future. Mnangagwa’s consolidation of power, underpinned by alleged intelligence connections and strategic manipulation, risks eroding democratic norms and entrenching authoritarianism.

As Mnangagwa strengthens his grip, Chiwenga’s decline serves as a cautionary tale of how even the most formidable leaders can be neutralized by intelligence operations. This development confirms that Zimbabwe’s political elite is less driven by national stability and more consumed by personal ambition and strategic maneuvering.

The question now is whether Mnangagwa’s actions will ultimately solidify his legacy or destabilize the nation, as the once-powerful Chiwenga becomes another casualty of Zimbabwe’s turbulent political landscape.

NERA Calls Mnangagwa To Order Over Plans To Postpone Polls

By A Correspondent| The National Elections Reform Agenda (NERA) has strongly condemned recent discussions suggesting a delay in the 2028 general elections, warning that such proposals would be a direct assault on Zimbabwe’s democratic principles.

In a statement, NERA convener Irene Muyenziwa, labeled the suggestion to extend the election timeline to 2030 as a blatant affront to democracy and governance in the country.

“Such considerations are not only a blatant affront to our democratic principles, but also a direct challenge to the essence of governance in Zimbabwe,” Muyenziwa said, adding that the notion disregards the voice of the people and undermines the very foundation of democracy.

Muyenziwa highlighted that Zimbabwe’s focus should be on implementing meaningful electoral reforms that guarantee free, fair, and peaceful elections, not on delaying the democratic process.

Muyenziwa’s remarks come at a time when certain factions within the ruling party and opposition groups have expressed support for postponing the upcoming elections.

While President Emmerson Mnangagwa has publicly pledged to respect the Constitution and refrain from extending his tenure beyond 2028, Muyenziwa warned that proposals to extend the election timeline could set a dangerous precedent, undermining public confidence in the electoral system.

“As the current Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Zimbabwe holds a position of significant influence. Delaying elections would not only undermine public confidence in our electoral process but also cast serious doubts on our commitment to accountability and governance,” she said.

Muyenziwa urged all political stakeholders, civil society organizations, and the public to focus on the urgent need for electoral reforms.

She called for reforms that enhance citizen participation, promote voter education, and advocate for legal and policy changes that align with democratic principles.

“The time for genuine political will and comprehensive electoral reforms is now.

“We must prioritize the enhancement of citizen
participation, promotion of voter education, and advocacy for legal and policy reforms that align with democratic principles,” she said

NERA, a coalition of political parties, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders, remains firm in its commitment to advancing democratic governance in Zimbabwe.

Muyenziwa insists that the future of the nation lies in upholding citizens’ rights to choose their leaders through credible elections, rather than through the postponement of their voices.

“We cannot allow fear or political maneuvering to dictate our democratic destiny. We call upon all stakeholders to reject any proposals that seek to delay our elections and to unite in the pursuit of an electoral system that is transparent, inclusive, and accountable,” Muyenziwa said.

She reiterated NERA’s call for a renewed focus on electoral integrity, urging all Zimbabweans to ensure that democracy remains a living reality for every citizen, not just an ideal on paper.

“The future of our nation depends on the choices we make today,” Muyenziwa said

SHORT STORY: Chiwenga Reduced From A Pre-Coup To A Precabe Farm General Who Tortures Own Wife On Lies

How Emmerson Mnangagwa has reduced Chiwenga from a Pre-coup to a Precabe farm general who tortures his own wife as his own health worsens

Once a lion in the fields of power,
The spear of the coup in the dark midnight hour,
Chiwenga stood, firm and bold,
A soldier of destiny, his story untold.

In 2017, the tides began to shift,
A coup crowned the generals’ gift.
The green and gold draped his chest,
But the throne had secrets to test.

2018 brought fire and pain,
A bomb attack left a permanent stain.
His own wife, the wounds did show,
The cost of power began to grow.

In 2019, he flew to China’s shore,
To mend a body that could fight no more.
But the scars of ambition and silent strife,
Chiseled away at his once-mighty life.

By 2025, the stage was set,
For a “Precabe General,” his fate beset.
A puppet now, in fields of despair,
Torturing love while gasping for air.

Under Mnangagwa’s iron reign,
The lion turned into a shadow of pain.
From a kingmaker to a fallen star,
The cost of loyalty had gone too far.

Health worsened, dignity lost,
A pawn in a game at a fatal cost.
This is the story of a man undone,
By the very power he sought to become.- Comment

RBZ Announces Plan To Print More ZiG Notes

By A Correspondent

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) is considering the introduction of higher denomination ZiG notes to facilitate smoother cash transactions amid ongoing economic challenges.

RBZ Governor John Mushayavanhu explained to The Sunday Mail that the new notes would be gradually introduced to align with projected economic activity, ensuring market stability. He stated, “Plans to introduce higher denominations are underway, and the amount to be introduced will be optimal and consistent with the envisaged economic activity.”

In the future, the RBZ aims to gradually increase the proportion of cash relative to total deposits to 5 percent, a target similar to that of other countries with comparable economic structures. “The Reserve Bank expects to progressively increase the proportion of cash to total deposits to 5 percent, which is close to countries with similar economic structures in the region,” Mushayavanhu added.

The RBZ emphasized its commitment to maintaining the value of the ZiG currency, preserving its role as both a transactional and store-of-value medium, while supporting the country’s de-dollarization efforts. “The Reserve Bank is committed to maintaining the value of the ZiG and implementing measures that will preserve its transactional and store-of-value functions and support the de-dollarisation journey,” Mushayavanhu noted.

To ensure the stability of the local currency, the RBZ will gradually increase the amount of ZiG in circulation to levels that align with anticipated broad money growth and economic activity. Additionally, the central bank will ensure that the increase in local currency is fully backed by foreign reserves, including gold, other precious metals, and nostro balances. “The RBZ will ensure that the increase in local currency is fully covered by foreign reserves (gold, other precious metals, and nostro balances), at all times, and in line with the foreign reserves accumulation strategy,” the Governor explained.

While the RBZ maintains that the ZiG has stabilized, trading at just over ZiG26 per US$1 on Monday, January 13, the street rate remains significantly higher, hovering around ZiG40 per US$1.

Mnangagwa Administration Sued Over Unsafe Flyovers

By A Correspondent

A High Court judge, Justice Never Katiyo, is set to hear an urgent application on Tuesday, January 14, filed by the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) on behalf of the Harare Residents’ Trust (HRT).

The case seeks to address the government’s failure to repair unsafe flyovers that pose a serious risk to residents of Harare.

The residents filed the application at the Harare High Court on February 15, 2024, requesting an order to compel the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Felix Mhona, to address the defects on three of the city’s flyovers. The flyovers in question are located along Simon Mazorodze Road, Lytton Road, and Fidel Castro Road.

These defects were highlighted in a report dated July 27, 2012, which identified a range of issues that require urgent repair.

HRT is calling on the High Court to order Minister Mhona to fix the defects within 90 days of the court’s ruling, ensuring that the flyovers are safe for road users. The trust is also seeking a declaration that the minister’s failure to address the defects violates the residents’ constitutional rights to a safe environment, as guaranteed under Section 73(1)(a) of the Constitution, which protects citizens from harm to their health and well-being.

In the application, HRT, through its legal representative Tonderai Bhatasara of ZLHR, and Loreen Mupesa, a Harare resident who frequently uses the flyovers, argue that the minister, as the official responsible for road maintenance and rehabilitation, is obligated to ensure public safety by maintaining safe roads.

Loreen Mupesa expressed frustration, stating, “The failure to address these issues puts our lives in danger. We cannot continue to wait while these defects remain unchecked.” HRT, alongside Mupesa, criticized Minister Mhona for his failure to act, arguing that the neglected flyovers have become increasingly unsafe with each passing day.

The defects were first identified by officials from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development and the City of Harare during a joint inspection, which led to the July 27, 2012, report. The report detailed numerous serious defects, including spalling concrete on the bottom flanges of beams, severe corrosion of reinforcement steel, visible cracks along the centerline deck, severely damaged expansion joints, excessive vibration of the superstructure, poor drainage, water leakage at expansion joints, and longitudinal cracks.

Despite the fact that the Ministry of Transport acknowledged these defects in 2021 and pledged to rectify them, no repairs have been made. “While the Ministry acknowledged the issues years ago, nothing has been done to fix them. The situation is getting worse,” HRT stated in their application.

The residents and HRT are now seeking the intervention of the High Court to compel Minister Mhona to prioritize the repairs and eliminate the danger posed by the flyovers to motorists and pedestrians alike.

Walker Seeks Manchester City Exit

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that veteran defender Kyle Walker has requested to leave the club this month. Walker, 34, has 18 months remaining on his contract, but has expressed a desire to explore opportunities abroad as his career winds down.

Guardiola confirmed Walker’s request, stating: “Kyle is not here because two days ago he asked to explore the option to play abroad… I prefer to play other players whose mind is here.” The manager also hinted that Walker’s departure could be imminent, saying: “Maybe I am wrong, but I am pretty convinced that you should keep no-one who doesn’t want to be here.”

David Moyes Appointed Everton Manager

David Moyes said it is “great to be back” after being appointed Everton manager for a second time.

The 61-year-old Scot has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Goodison Park following the sacking of Sean Dyche on Thursday.

Everton are 16th in the Premier League – one point clear of the relegation zone – with only three wins from 19 games this season.

“I enjoyed 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and didn’t hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to rejoin this great club,” said Moyes.

“Now we need Goodison and all Evertonians to play their part in getting behind the players in this important season so we can move into our fabulous new stadium as a Premier League team.”

Moyes managed Everton from 2002 until 2013 before spells in charge of Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham twice.

He has been out of work since leaving West Ham, where he won the Europa Conference League in 2023, at the end of last season.

Viva Energy’s Engineer, Tawanda Mutasa Cruelty To 75 Year Old Woman

A Heart-Wrenching Tale of Betrayal: The Cost of a Dream

In a saga that has shocked communities across continents, a selfless act of kindness has spiraled into a devastating betrayal. At the heart of this story lies Tawanda Mutasa, a rising star at Australia’s Viva Energy, whose refusal to repay a life-changing $200,000 loan from his elderly aunt has left her on the brink of homelessness. What began as a promise of hope and opportunity has unraveled into a bitter feud, exposing greed, deception, and a family torn apart. This is not just a dispute over money—it’s a stark reminder of how gratitude can curdle into ingratitude, leaving scars that may never heal.

Viva Energy’s Engineer, Tawanda Mutasa Scoffs At Aunt (75) Who’s Losing Home To Pay For His Uni Loan, ‘You Won’t Get A Penny!’

The Betrayal of Kindness: Tawanda Mutasa’s Debt Scandal

By Investigative Reporter | ZimEye | In an extraordinary twist of fate, the promising career of Tawanda Calvin Mutasa, an Advanced Process Control Engineer at Australia’s Viva Energy, has been shadowed by a highly publicized and disturbing family feud. The controversy stems from a staggering $200,000 debt that his elderly aunt, a Good Samaritan who facilitated his escape from Zimbabwe to attend a Canadian university, reveals he has willfully refused to repay. Instead, Mutasa contends that his debt has been settled through a single chauffeured drive, an argument that has sparked outrage and disbelief, culminating in a deep schism within the family.

Mutasa’s aunt, who has been battling illness and financial instability, paints a haunting picture of betrayal. Her story is one of sacrifice, deception, and a descent into despair, triggered by what she describes as Mutasa’s cold, manipulative refusal to honor a long-standing verbal agreement to repay his educational expenses.

Years ago in 2006, as Zimbabwe faced mounting economic turmoil, Mutasa’s aunt—a Canadian immigrant of Zimbabwean descent—was approached by Tawanda and his mother to help secure a better future for her nephew. She was asked to lay for his tuition, living expenses, and other educational costs at a Canadian university. This requested loan was supposed to be a temporary lifeline, with the expectation that, upon graduation and securing employment, Mutasa would repay the money. What she did not anticipate, however, was the convoluted and painful journey that would follow.

In an interview conducted by Simba Chikanza on July 8, 2024, Mutasa offered a brusque dismissal of the debt issue. When confronted with the fact that his aunt was still owed $200,000, Mutasa replied, “There is nothing outstanding, so everything has been concluded.” His curt response, followed by cutting the phone call, suggested a complete disengagement from the gravity of the financial burden his aunt has been carrying for years.

Tawanda Mutasa’s aunt, Beryl Nkwazi (75)
A Legal Battle and a Heartbreaking Betrayal

Mutasa’s aunt, Beryl Nkwazi, has since taken the matter to court multiple times in an effort to recoup the funds. Despite her court battles, she has been met with denials and attempts at misrepresentation from both Mutasa and his mother, Grace, who was once considered a close relative. Grace who is the Belvedere based former Standard Bank manager, denied in court that there was ever any agreement for her son to repay the loan, a claim that has been proven false by email evidence. The request was clear that this is a loan to be repaid when he secures a job after university.

“Between being in and out of emergency care and admissions,” the aunt said in her emotional statement, “I have been trying to put this story together, but it’s difficult. I never imagined that the person I helped would turn on me like this.”

The aunt claims that Mutasa’s behaviour throughout the years, and his outright refusal to repay the debt, has revealed a darker side to his character. She describes it as “pathological extreme greed, narcissism, and heartlessness.” These qualities, she says, were hidden behind a veil of charm and promises when she initially agreed to help him.

What adds to her anguish is the revelation that Grace, the woman she considered her sister, made it clear during one of their confrontations that they did not share the same father. “This was traumatic,” she said, “It was as if I had never been part of this family at all.”

Manipulation and Lies

The situation took a further sinister turn when it was revealed that while the aunt was struggling to cover Mutasa’s expenses, his family was covertly sending him money. Bank statements revealed that Mutasa had received funds behind her back to support a lifestyle that included frequent dining out, new clothes, and even a holiday in Australia. According to the aunt, Tawanda claimed his trips and indulgences were funded by his then-girlfriend, now wife, Amanda. This was a stark contrast to the sacrifices she and her children made, going without many essentials to ensure that Mutasa could complete his education.

The most shocking blow came when a relative informed her that Mutasa had brazenly told them he expected repayment for the one instance he drove his aunt from Saskatoon to Calgary—a trip she had required after a night shift. This, according to her, was the final piece of evidence that Mutasa never intended to repay the debt and had been calculating his escape from financial responsibility all along.

An Aunt’s Plea

For Mutasa’s aunt, the entire ordeal has not only left her in financial ruin but has taken an irreparable toll on her health. She describes the stress of the situation as overwhelming, especially when she realized that Mutasa was thriving in his career in Australia, enjoying a salary that could easily repay the loan within months.

“He is living a standard of life he could never have dreamt of on my back,” she said bitterly. “He has no remorse, and he is perfectly fine with the fact that I am drowning in debt while he lives an opulent lifestyle.”

Her sense of betrayal is compounded by the attitude of Mutasa’s family, who she believes never intended to honor their promises. Grace’s mocking laughter during a meeting to discuss the loan repayment will forever be etched in her mind. “She laughed at me and said, ‘Tichawonaka kuti mari yacho yamurikuda muchaiwana seyi!’—We’ll see how you expect to get your money!” My son is starting his life and you want him to work for you!?,” to which I responded asking her, so it’s okay for me to work for him?

It was in that moment, the aunt says, that she realized they had no intention of repaying her.

“The email stating that Tawanda should apply for a scholarship back in 2007 is very clear,” she speaks.

She continues saying: “The addresses to apply for same were also provided. Another email to his mother that disputes the claim I had offered to fund his education, which his mother had dishonestly stated to the courts.

“All this is evidence that proves the dishonesty by Tawanda and his mother,” she adds.

In further responses, Tawanda accuses his aunt, saying she just wants to become a shareholder. “Are you now a shareholder to my education?,” he says.

A Final Drive: Payment or Insult?

Perhaps the most controversial aspect of the dispute is Mutasa’s assertion that he has already repaid the debt. He claims that a single chauffeured drive between Canadian cities, Saskatoon and Calgary, suffices as repayment for the hundreds of thousands of dollars she spent on his education. This claim has left many family members bewildered and enraged, as it starkly contrasts the magnitude of the debt.

For the aunt, the notion that a single drive could erase such a massive financial and emotional burden is not just insulting—it is the ultimate act of ingratitude. “How can he believe that driving me once between two cities is equivalent to $200,000?” she asked, incredulous.

“It’s a slap in the face after everything I’ve done for him.”

In interviews, both Tawanda and his mother did not at any time deny that there is an educational loan that is still to be repaid his aunt.

Two brothers have confirmed the incident proving the existence of the loan arrangement from back in 2006.

One of the brothers affirming says: “I am Charles Mangurenje, brother to warring sisters; And I have tried to mediate between the two, however it has not worked.

“There was an agreement to repay my elder sister when Tawanda began working. It is shocking that they say that there was no verbal agreement.

“But Tawanda cannot be enriched at my sisters expense. She is soon going to be homeless because of this kind of greed. This could not happen,” Charles concludes.

This family saga may be a reminder of how quickly gratitude can turn to greed and betrayal. While Tawanda Mutasa continues to thrive professionally, his personal and family relationships are in tatters. His aunt, the woman who saved him from a life of limited opportunities in Zimbabwe, now grapples with the devastating consequences of this injustice.

The question remains: Will Tawanda Mutasa ever take responsibility for the debt he owes, or will he continue to distance himself from the woman who sacrificed everything for his future? For now, the answer remains unclear, but the damage done may be impossible to repair.- ZimEye

Avoid Common Traffic Violations

Church Leader Dismisses Mnangagwa Bid To Extend Presidential Term

Full statement by Bishop Ancelimo Magaya

Presidential term extension to 2030/33 is unconstitutional and will be resisted.

God watches in derision-seeing the machinations of wicked regimes. A “well” crafted strategy to recall democratically elected MPs post 2023 elections to create an opposition in parliament that passively acquiesces to the behind the scene orchestrated 2030 plan, persecution of the likes of Ngarivhume and Sikhala, a constitution of an unjust judiciary service under the leadership of Chief Justice Malaba, current cabinet and security sect reshuffling, and possible including extending years of retirement from 65 -70 years -is all one script. It is a ploy to extend president Mnangagwa’ s term of office with less difficulties .

Mr President Sir, demonstrate your genuineness in being a constitutionalist by doing the following. First publicly announce in no uncertain terms that those that are signing the 2030 and lately 2033 chorus are a threat not only to the integrity of your party but also to the security of the nation and therefore will face arrest if they keep bleating the 2030/33 mantra like the sheep in Animal Farm by George Orwell.
Second report those bleating to the police if they do not abandon their chorus so that they get arrested for abusing you and dragging your image (as a constitutionalist) into disrepute.
Third, 2028 (the year for the next election) is near and it is prudent for you to allow your internal party process to elect the person who will stand in for zanu-pf so that you will begin to mentor the person . Avoid equivocation and plan to leave your party and Zimbabwe in a better state. If you do so, you will go down history as a leader that decided to end well: mending the past record and leaving a good legacy. We serve the God of a second chance. Any leader who has access to you (whether political, civic or church) who has not told you this does not truly love you and they are either opportunistic, cowards, moral failures or all of the above.

To a section of the church that wantonly joins the 2030 chorus- desperately adopting a policy of appeasement, l pray that the Lord God Almighty that discerns the intention of the heart from afar (Heb 4: 12) revive your conscience. It is tragic to speak it yet true to say that some church leaders are sacrificing their conscience.God forbid.
To all Zimbabweans from across the political divide, civic society and churches, we are more than this rubber stamping crew. We can, without any stone throwing or any other act of violence defend the constitution and help the president to be a true constitutionalist in keeping with his promise that he will step down in 2028.

God save Zimbabwe.

President Chamisa Announces Decisive Way Forward for Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent

Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has called for a decisive and action-driven approach to building a new and prosperous Zimbabwe. In a bold statement, Chamisa emphasized that the time for meaningful change has come and that the country must shift from dialogue to action.

Chamisa shared his vision for the future, saying, “WELCOME ON BOARD… We’re building a new prosperous Zimbabwe ??. Going forward, more doing and less talking. Are you ready?”

The statement reflects Chamisa’s determination to move beyond the political rhetoric that has characterized Zimbabwe’s recent past and to focus on tangible, constructive efforts to improve the country’s situation. His message seems to signal a commitment to driving real progress, urging Zimbabweans to unite in working towards a brighter future.

As the leader of the opposition, Chamisa has long advocated for political and economic reforms aimed at fostering national development. Now, he seems intent on translating his vision into concrete actions, urging supporters and citizens to take an active role in the transformation of the nation.

With this new call for decisive action, Chamisa is positioning himself as a leader ready to lead Zimbabwe into a new chapter, one built on hard work, unity, and national prosperity.

Residents Sue Mnangagwa Administration Over Unsafe Flyovers

Mnangagwa Mocks Opposition: Criticism Will Never Oust Zanu PF

By A Correspondent

Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has confidently declared that criticism from the opposition will never be enough to remove Zanu PF from power.

Speaking at his Precabe Farm on Sunday, Mnangagwa urged opposition parties to continue criticizing his government, claiming that their feedback actually strengthens Zanu PF by allowing them to correct their mistakes.

Mnangagwa’s comments were laced with irony, as he seemed to be taunting the opposition, saying that their criticism would ultimately ensure they remain in opposition.

“We love criticism from the opposition,” Mnangagwa stated, emphasizing how such feedback strengthens his party.

“I would like to urge the opposition to continue criticizing Zanu PF. This is because criticism helps us to correct our mistakes.”

He further added, with a tone of irony, “For you to remain in opposition, please continue criticizing Zanu PF,” prompting laughter from Parliamentarians present at the event.

This statement comes after Mnangagwa’s government has been accused of suppressing opposition and limiting freedom of speech.

The President’s remarks were made during a familiarization tour of his farm, which was attended by legislators from both the ruling party and the opposition.

Mnangagwa’s comments seemed to be an attempt to appear confident and unbothered by the opposition’s criticism…

Triangle Limited Retrenches Hundreds

Business Reporter- The country’s leading sugar milling plant, Triangle Limited, has announced plans for a mass retrenchment, citing viability challenges.

This is happening despite Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration touting the mantra “Zimbabwe is Open for Business.”

Despite the rhetoric, policy inconsistencies and a hostile economic environment have driven several companies to scale back or shut down operations entirely under Mnangagwa’s administration.

In a statement addressed to employees but without specifying the actual number of targeted employees, Triangle Limited attributed the phased retrenchment process to a combination of rising operational costs, currency instability, inflationary pressures, and the adverse effects of government policies.

Among the challenges highlighted were the skyrocketing costs of key inputs such as fertilizer, fuel, and imported goods and services. Additionally, the company lamented the impact of the government’s decision to exempt sugar from VAT, effectively barring firms from reclaiming VAT on essential production inputs.

The influx of low-cost, duty-free sugar imports has further compounded the company’s financial woes.

These economic hurdles are not unique to Triangle Limited.

Across various sectors, businesses have struggled to stay afloat in an environment characterized by erratic policy shifts and a lack of clear economic direction.

Mnangagwa’s much-publicized Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), established to attract foreign direct investment, has fallen short of reversing the tide of deindustrialization and company closures.

Harare’s erratic policy landscape has created an unpredictable business environment that deters local and foreign investment.

For example, the exemption of certain products, like sugar, from VAT—while aimed at reducing costs for consumers—has inadvertently crippled industries reliant on VAT rebates for input costs.

This, coupled with inflation that erodes purchasing power and inconsistent foreign currency policies, has made long-term business planning nearly impossible.

Moreover, the government’s inability to stabilize the Zimbabwean dollar and control inflation has led to recurrent shortages of foreign currency, undermining companies’ ability to procure essential inputs.

The ripple effect of these challenges has not only stifled industrial productivity but has also resulted in widespread unemployment, as retrenchments become a common coping mechanism for distressed firms.

The Zimbabwe Is Open for Business initiative, introduced as a flagship policy under Mnangagwa’s administration, has largely failed to deliver tangible results.

Investors remain wary, citing issues such as weak property rights, corruption, and inconsistent regulatory frameworks.

Despite lofty promises, the initiative has yet to foster a conducive environment for sustained economic growth and job creation.

Instead, the economic climate has continued to deteriorate, with companies like Triangle Limited forced to retrench workers or scale back operations.

The retrenchment at Triangle Limited is yet another grim reminder of the economic challenges confronting Zimbabwe under Mnangagwa’s administration.

Efforts to get a comment from the Triangle Limited management were fruitless at the time of publishing.

Sean Mnangagwa Joins Africa’s League of Extraordinary Soldiers – What It Means for His Future

By Dorrothy Moyo | Sean Mnangagwa, the son of Emmerson Mnangagwa, is garnering international attention as his military career is highlighted alongside other prominent sons of African leaders in a recent feature titled “The League of Extraordinary Soldiers.” This recognition not only cements his reputation as a “disciplined” and capable soldier but also raises questions about his future in Zimbabwe’s socio-political and military landscape.

A Life of Service and Sacrifice

It is claimed that unlike the perception of privilege often associated with the children of political leaders, Sean Mnangagwa has earned his stripes through rigorous military training in China, Russia, and Zimbabwe.

Sean’s inclusion in this elite group of leaders’ sons, alongside figures like Rwanda’s Captain Ian Kagame and Uganda’s General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, highlights a growing trend in Africa where the next generation of political families is actively involved in national security and governance. This shift challenges traditional notions of entitlement and privilege associated with political dynasties.

What Lies Ahead for Sean Mnangagwa?

The feature raises significant questions about the implications of Sean’s military role for his future:

  1. Leadership Aspirations: While Sean Mnangagwa’s military career has so far focused on defense and training, his close ties to the presidency make him a potential figure in Zimbabwe’s political future. Could his disciplined background and public recognition position him as a successor or key figure in Zimbabwe’s governance?
  2. Public Perception: Sean’s military achievements may help reshape public opinion about political families in Zimbabwe. By suggesting a spirit of dedication through service rather than relying on his family name, he could command trust and respect among Zimbabweans.
  3. Role in National Stability: With Zimbabwe facing challenges such as economic recovery and political polarization, Sean’s military expertise could play a role as either a military leader or a future political figure.
  4. International Relations: Sean’s training abroad and recognition on a continental level enhance his profile as an emerging leader with global awareness.

His inclusion in The League of Extraordinary Soldiers signals the emergence of a new generation of African leaders who prioritize discipline, service, and national pride. His journey reflects a broader movement toward breaking stereotypes of political privilege and embracing a culture of responsibility and patriotism..- ZimEye

Late Mugabe Spokesperson Says ED Will Lose Referendum

By A Correspondent| Late former President Robert Mugabe’s spokesperson, Jealousy Mawarire has dared President Emmerson Mnangagwa to call for a referendum to appreciate the views of the people about his continued presidency.

Posting on X, Mawarire said 99.9% of the people will vote against him.

He added that people of Zimbabwe do not want him to stay longer than February 2025.

“If ED’s argument for an illegal presidential term extension to 2030 is that ‘people’ want him to stay, let’s just go for a referendum muone kurakashwa kwaanoitwa. The people, an overwhelming 99.9%, will vote against ED’s continued presidency. Chero kukanzi iyezvino ndiani anoda kuti ED ange ari president beyond February 2025, hapana anoda. Kana pane anenharo ngaaite referendum izvozvi muone,” said Mawarire.

Mnangagwa has been clandestinely pushing to have term limits clause removed from the constitution as part of his grand plan to rule until death.

The campaign for his continued stay in power has now reached fever peak with opposition legislators being the last group to be captured to support this illegal move.

RBZ Prints Higher Useless ZiG Denominations

By Business Reporter-The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has announced plans to print higher denominations of the troubled ZiG currency to stabilise the economy and address cash shortages.

However, the move has been met with scepticism, with economists warning it may once again exacerbate inflation and further erode public confidence.

Printing money is not a new tactic for Zimbabwe.

The country’s monetary history since 2003 is littered with failed attempts to stabilise its currency through higher denominations, often leading to hyperinflation and economic turmoil.

In an interview with the state media RBZ Governor John Mushayavanhu revealed that the central bank is considering introducing higher denomination notes of the ZiG to facilitate cash transactions.

“Plans to introduce higher denominations are underway, and the amount to be introduced will be optimal and consistent with the envisaged economic activity,” Mushayavanhu said. He added that the RBZ aims to increase the proportion of cash to total deposits to 5 percent, aligning with regional benchmarks.

Zimbabwe’s currency woes date back to the early 2000s:

  • 2003–2009: The Zimbabwean Dollar (Z$)
  • Hyperinflation reached a staggering 89.7 sextillion per cent in November 2008, leading to the abandonment of the Z$ in favour of foreign currencies.
  • 2009–2016: Multi-Currency System
  • The use of foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar, temporarily stabilised the economy.
  • 2016–2019: Bond Notes and Coins
  • Introduced as a local surrogate for the US dollar, bond notes quickly lost value, leading to public protests and mistrust.
  • 2019–2024: RTGS Dollar and Reintroduction of the Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWL)
  • The government’s decision to reintroduce a local currency under the guise of “monetary sovereignty” resulted in rapid devaluation and the return of inflation.
  • 2024: The ZiG Currency
  • Launched in April 2024, the ZiG was touted as a stable solution. However, within months, it has drastically collapsed.

Today, the ZiG is officially trading at US$1: ZiG24, while the parallel market rate exceeds ZiG50 to the dollar, reflecting a lack of faith in the currency.

Economists argue that Zimbabwe’s currency crisis stems from deeper structural issues.

Printing higher denominations may offer short-term relief, but it does not address underlying economic fundamentals.

The government must focus on boosting investor confidence by eliminating unfavourable policies, tackling corruption, and fostering a stable economic environment.

Without these critical reforms, Zimbabwe risks repeating the same monetary policy failures that have haunted its economy for decades.

Sengezo Tshabangu’s Full 2018 Motlanthe Speech Defending Mnangagwa Saying It’s ED Who’s Blood Govt Wants To Shed

SENGEZO TSHABANGU: SWORN STATEMENT

EVIDENCE LEADER: MR THABANI MPOFU (To Witness)

Q: Please could you state your names again for the purpose of the Commissioners to hear.

A: Sengezo Tshabangu.

Q: You may start, Mr Tshabangu.

A: Can I go ahead?

Q: Yes.

A: I would want to first applaud the President for setting such a Commission. It’s the first of its kind. President, former President Mohlante I have no doubt at the back of mind that, I am very much convinced that submissions which are going to be led today would not end here. Firstly, I want to put it on record about the differences which may come in relation to party and the state. The President want to be assisted in coming out in the open, who gave an order for the killing which happened in the 1st of August.

The submissions relating to the events which happened during the Gukurahundi era. But I am a product born out of that era. In 2000 formed what was commonly referred to as green bombers during that time as a way for disguising it as an empowerment programme. They were deployed to each and every province by the state not by the party. But they were deployed by the party. In 2005 the state used it’s missionary in killing people under the disguise of what was referred to as Murambatsvina because they wanted to reduce the power base of the opposition in urban areas. When you displace the powerbase of an opposition they thought they will be successful in 2005.

Q: You have disposed your 2 minutes.

A: Can I go on I have only 5. This is the 2nd one.

Q: No, no.

A: Wait. Chairman, I need your protection. I am just chronicling the events that happened in 2005. The role that the state played. Not the party but the role that the state played. The violence that we are talking about it was not orchestrated by the party but it was the state machinery. They people who were killed were killed by guns. They were not killed by stones. They were not killed by stones and they want to show you that don’t, they are so many speakers who had portrayed that the opposition had a role in the killing of the people on the 1st of August. No. All that I am trying to put across is that it’s not the oppositions. Chamisa never had a gun but it was the State. Those people were killed by the state. It’s Gukurahundi.

Q: Mr Tshabangu I am not going to make you make an address.

A: Chairman I need your protection. I am not talking about politics. I am talking about violence.

CHAIRMAN HIS EXCELLENCE HONOURABLE MOTLANTLE (To Witness)

Q: The chronicling of events if you are reading from handwritten notes you can submit those and then give us your conclusion. We hear you very well when you say the State and not then party have a hand in the violence that happened in the past and so on.

A: Yes.

Q: Why shouting instead of giving us sequence of dates. What happened in 2000, 2005 and so on, that you can submit in support of your conclusion because we are doing this in the interest of time. If you can manage that. You have full protection. We are all ears we are listening.

Witness continues.

A: Let me just wrap it up. Again in 2007 chairman, opposition leaders were battered by the State. They were praying for the nations. Morgan Tsvangirai was battered. Professor Lovemore who is a Commissioner here was battered. He almost died. He was not beaten by Zanu Pf but he was beaten by the stage agency. In 2008 the political violence that erupted because of the disputed election, the greater part of Mashonaland people lost their lives. And the army was there at the fore front. The state agency were in the fore front of deploying killing people. In 2017 our lovely, who is now the President, he was almost killed in Gwanda with ice cream. Where were the State agency then? President Mnangagwa wants this to be done professionally this is why he put this Commission but they wanted to kill him. These Zanu Pf activist they don’t like him. They wanted him dead.

CHAIRMAN HIS EXCELLENCE HONOURABLE MOTLANTLE

Q: Why not place everything in writing? We believe we have captured the essence of your testimony.

A: I will, Advocate Thabani Mpofu. However, I was pushed to defend myself because I felt misunderstood.

Q: The Commission has heard you and will not restrict your submissions. You are free to write as much as you like.

A: Precisely. Thank you, Commission. We should support the President.

The Decline of Opposition – A Call for Unity and Purpose

By Fanuel Chinowaita | Zimbabwe’s opposition politics, once a symbol of hope for a nation yearning for democracy, has lost its way. What was once a movement fighting for the people’s cause has shifted to serving personal interests, leaving many disillusioned and questioning whether the opposition can still be the force for change it once aspired to be.

The late Morgan Tsvangirai, the founding leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), embodied the true spirit of opposition. From 1999, Tsvangirai led a relentless fight against Zanu PF’s authoritarian rule, culminating in the 2009 Government of National Unity (GNU). His vision was clear: a Zimbabwe free from oppression, where democracy and unity prevailed. He had an unmatched ability to rally diverse voices under a single cause, demonstrating his belief in collective action as the path to change.

However, Tsvangirai’s death marked a critical turning point. The MDC Alliance, formed by uniting various parties, has failed to sustain the momentum and vision he left behind. Today, Zimbabwe’s opposition is fractured, marred by infighting and ego-driven leadership that undermines the very democratic principles it once championed. Instead of uniting against Zanu PF’s misrule, some leaders prioritize personal ambitions, reducing the opposition to a fragmented group of self-serving individuals rather than a unified force for progress.

A Disconnect Between Leaders and the People

A glaring example of this decline is the growing disconnect between opposition leaders and the citizens they claim to represent. Zimbabweans turned to the opposition for its promises of democracy, accountability, and a brighter future. Yet many leaders now mirror the authoritarian tendencies they once opposed, sidelining genuine voices within their ranks and treating supporters with contempt.

Actions speak louder than words. Reports of opposition Members of Parliament sharing rice donated by President Mnangagwa or frequenting his farm cast serious doubt on their commitment to the cause. Such behavior erodes public trust and fuels perceptions that opposition leaders are compromised.

    Fragmentation and Misguided Priorities

The opposition’s failure to unite is its greatest weakness. Instead of building alliances, leaders engage in petty squabbles and self-promotion. This lack of cohesion and strategic direction renders them unable to mount an effective challenge to Zanu PF’s dominance.

Another damaging trend is the sidelining of seasoned leaders in favor of newcomers with questionable motives. While fresh ideas are essential, dismissing experienced figures who have been in the trenches since the opposition’s inception is counterproductive. Genuine leaders with a proven commitment to the cause must be acknowledged and given space to guide the movement forward.

    A Call to Action

The opposition must act urgently to reclaim its relevance. Unity is no longer optional—it is essential. Leaders must prioritize the collective goal of democracy over personal interests and egos. They must reengage with their supporters, listen to their grievances, and prove through their actions that they remain committed to the cause of a free and democratic Zimbabwe.

Zimbabweans deserve an opposition that fights for them, not one that mimics the corruption and self-interest of the ruling party. Without immediate reform and a return to Tsvangirai’s principles of unity, inclusivity, and democratic struggle, the opposition risks fading into irrelevance.

The time to rise is now—before it’s too late.

Sikhala Says Opposition Legislators Were Served With Alcohol At Precabe Farm

By A Correspondent| Former Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala has said legislators who visited President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s farm over the weekend were served with alcohol before they started singing songs campaigning for the Zanu PF leader to remain in power beyond 2030.

Posting on X, Sikhala slammed the opposition legislators led by self-styled CCC Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu for pushing stomach politics at the expense of the suffering masses.

“Musure mokunwa zvinodhaka vakatanga kuimba zvisina basa. Selfish stomach politics!!!” said Sikhala.

Opposition legislatora aligned to Tshabangu were guests at Mnangagwa’s Kwekwe farm where they endorsed the 2030 agenda.

The move has been widely condemned by citizens who accused Mnangagwa of using the opposition to push his move to extend his term of office.

Industry and Talent at the Forefront

The relaxed visa policies aim to attract world-class talent, fueling the UK’s AI ambitions. Industry leaders have welcomed the plan, viewing it as a decisive step toward making the UK a hub for AI innovation.

Vantage Data Centres plans to invest £12 billion in data campuses, creating 11,500 jobs. Nscale will establish the largest sovereign AI data center in Essex, while Kyndryl will create 1,000 AI-related jobs in Liverpool over the next three years.

Matt Clifford, a key advisor to the government on AI, said:
“This plan puts the UK at the forefront of AI innovation, unlocking its potential to grow the economy, improve lives, and make Britain a global hub for AI investment.”

    A Vision for the Future

The AI Opportunities Action Plan represents a commitment to innovation, economic growth, and public service transformation. By addressing visa barriers, supporting infrastructure development, and fostering talent, the UK is poised to lead the global AI revolution.

The initiative is expected to reshape the economy, create thousands of jobs, and improve public services, ensuring Britain remains a leader in artificial intelligence for years to come.

    Valerio Is Cruel: Kerina

By Kerina Mujati | This man is CRUEL and his name is Phillip Valerio Sibanda. It must be known and be on record that he was the Army Commander that ORDERED Army tanks onto the streets of Harare in November 2017 not Chiwenga, why is he not ORDERING the Army tanks now for Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa?

If Phillip Valerio Sibanda ordered army tanks for an elderly Mugabe, why is he protecting Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa who is a looter, rapist, ritualist, murderer, paedophile, fake a Munhumutapa violating our Constitution with his dangerous and deranged Son Sean abusing the Army uniform? The Air Force under Perence Shiri did not participate they were just FORCED OBSERVERS of the coup.

In 2018 Chiwenga was no longer Commander Defence Forces or Commander in Chief (President). Chiwenga had no legal basis to deploy or give instructions to shoot civilians on the streets. The 2018 shootings were and are a responsibility of Commander in Chief Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and Commander Defence Forces Phillip Valerio Sibanda.

Till this day the recommendations of the 2018 Motlanthe Commission has not been attended too as the culprits Emmerson and Valerio are the ones who must be held accountable. Can Zimbabweans who should be protected by the Army, were shot in cold blood by Army commanded by Valerio Sibanda and his thugs in uniform andnoone is answerable to these murders? This cannot be wished away. Chamisa equally insulted the deceased that they were stupid in demonstrating for the delayed election results. Zimbabweans, do not be fooled that Phillip Valerio Sibanda is an upright man he is crooked and enabling Mnangagwa’s grip on power and the Mafidhi Dynasty.

I demand that the Motlanthe Commission must be looked at as mhosva hairove, power is temporary and borrowed. Valerio Sibanda, cha ED kunyangara fesi zvese nemoyo killing Zezurus…hence it is easy for you to deploy Army tanks on the streets of Harare. I am seeing and you can’t fool all kuuraya vanhu kuda kuita Gukurahundi mu Harare, ana Satan. Valerio Sibanda the Boko Haram of Zimbabwe. Zimu Dissident remunhu, bloody murderer. Protecting one man and his family at the expense of millions of Zimbabwean, is that why you are being paid by Taxpayers?

What’s ED Doing At State House?

Harare – Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga met with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday at State House in Harare to seek Zimbabwe’s support for his candidacy as the next African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson. Mr. Odinga is one of three candidates vying for the top AU post, alongside Djibouti’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mahamoud Ali Youssouf and Somalia’s Fawzia Yusuf Adam.

Speaking after the meeting, Mr. Odinga expressed optimism about Zimbabwe’s backing, given President Mnangagwa’s current role as the Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). “I have come to announce my candidature and to also ask for support from Zimbabwe and SADC by extension. I am happy to have been received very well by the President,” he said.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Mr. Odinga shared his appreciation for the warm reception, stating: “We landed in Harare, Zimbabwe today to a warm reception courtesy of H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa @edmnangagwa. It’s been a pleasure sharing with the President my vision for Africa and discussing my candidature for the AUC Chairmanship.”

A Regional Push for Eastern Africa

The position of AU Commission chairperson is set to rotate to Eastern Africa, following institutional reforms aimed at improving transparency, regional representation, and meritocracy in the AU’s leadership selection process. Past chairpersons have come from the western, central, and southern regions of Africa, making this an opportunity for Eastern Africa to take the lead.

Mr. Odinga, a seasoned politician and a well-known advocate for Pan-Africanism, has been traveling across the continent to lobby for support. His visit to Harare comes as part of his broader campaign, with plans to meet leaders from other Southern African nations to solidify regional backing.

    Vision for Africa

During his meeting with President Mnangagwa, Mr. Odinga highlighted his vision for a united and self-reliant Africa. “We have shared experiences with other nations. We know where we are coming from and where we want to go. Africa will only be developed by Africans themselves,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of leveraging Africa’s abundant natural resources and its young, dynamic population to drive transformation and development. “We have 55 states in Africa, and we are looking at how these countries can be integrated so that we benefit from the resources on our continent,” he added.

    Upcoming Election

The new AU Commission chairperson will be elected via secret ballot by the AU Assembly at the 38th AU Summit, scheduled to take place on February 25 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The election process reflects the AU’s commitment to gender parity and regional balance, with Eastern Africa producing the chairperson and North Africa expected to fill the deputy chairperson’s post.

As the current SADC Chairperson, President Mnangagwa holds significant sway in influencing the region’s position on the election. Whether Zimbabwe and the broader SADC bloc will back Mr. Odinga remains to be seen.

This visit underscores the high stakes and strategic importance of the upcoming AU elections, as the continent prepares to chart its course toward greater integration, development, and unity.

Zion Christian Church Pastor Forces Self On Daughter

    By A Correspondent

A shocking and disturbing case has emerged in Alexandra, where a 49-year-old pastor, reportedly a leader at the Zion Christian Church (ZCC), has allegedly impregnated his 13-year-old daughter.

According to sources, the family was approached for questioning, but they claimed to have resolved the matter internally, without involving the police. The father’s response to the allegations was that he was unaware of the pregnancy.

In a bizarre and alarming twist, it is alleged that the father attempted to terminate the pregnancy by giving his daughter “church tea.” Fortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful.

This developing story raises serious concerns about child abuse, exploitation, and the failure of the family and potentially the church to report and address the issue. As more information becomes available, this story will continue to unfold.

    Tyson Blasts Dambudzo

    By A Correspondent

Former Zanu PF national political commissar and Generation 40 leader, Saviour Kasukuwere, has vowed to return to Zimbabwe and directly challenge President Emmerson Mnangagwa over his bid to extend his presidency beyond the constitutional limit, which ends in 2028.

Kasukuwere is urging Mnangagwa to call for a referendum on the matter. “Let him call for a referendum on this rubbish. We will land in Harare and defeat this satanic arrangement. We have enough forces to defeat this nonsense,” Kasukuwere said, expressing his readiness to confront the president head-on.

Kasukuwere further condemned Mnangagwa’s actions, describing them as “desperate acts of criminals who think they can hoodwink the masses of our people.” He emphasized that such moves would be met with resistance and vowed to fight against any unconstitutional attempt to extend Mnangagwa’s rule.

Money Blown On Wicknell’s Shoes And Cars Could Buy 8 Of The US’s Best Firefighting Helicopters

As Zimbabwe grapples with mounting economic challenges, a staggering $195 million spent on luxury, mismanagement, and failed projects paints a stark picture of squandered opportunity. This figure, linked to controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo and other ventures, has drawn sharp contrasts with how the same amount could have transformed the country.

While $10 million in England funded the construction of the intricate six-lane “Spaghetti Junction,” Zimbabwe’s $195 million was spent on questionable projects, including $10 million on luxury cars and shoes, $5 million on a failed Gwanda solar project, and $100 million attributed to unproductive contracts. Such expenditures highlight the glaring difference in priorities, sparking public outrage over missed opportunities to invest in critical infrastructure, including firefighting helicopters, renewable energy, or urban development

The same $195 million could also be used to purchase firefighting choppers like those being used in the LA fires.

To determine how many of the world’s best firefighting helicopters Zimbabwe could have purchased with $195 million, let’s consider two top-tier firefighting helicopters:

    1. Sikorsky S-70 Firehawk

Price per unit: Approximately $22 million

Number of Firehawks that could be purchased:

    \text{Number of helicopters} = \frac{\text{Total budget}}{\text{Price per unit}} = \frac{195,000,000}{22,000,000} \approx 8.86

Zimbabwe could afford 8 Firehawks (with some remaining budget for customization or training).

    2. Kaman K-Max Titan

Price per unit: Approximately $7 million

Number of K-Max Titans that could be purchased:

    \text{Number of helicopters} = \frac{\text{Total budget}}{\text{Price per unit}} = \frac{195,000,000}{7,000,000} \approx 27.86

Zimbabwe could afford 27 K-Max Titans (potentially building a large aerial firefighting fleet).

    Conclusion:

With $195 million, Zimbabwe could purchase:

8 Sikorsky S-70 Firehawks, some of the most advanced firefighting helicopters in the world, or

27 Kaman K-Max Titans, excellent heavy-lift and firefighting helicopters.

Mnangagwa’s Unity Call, A Genuine Move Or Political Gimmick ?

    By A Correspondent

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, leader of Zanu PF, has called for national unity, emphasizing the importance of bridging political divides despite his contested victories in the 2018 and 2023 elections.

Mnangagwa made the remarks during a Sunday gathering at his Precabe Farm, where he hosted parliamentarians from both Zanu PF and opposition parties. Speaking from his family farm, he positioned himself as a unifier and emphasized the need for collaboration among Zimbabwe’s political factions.

“We shared our passion for farming. With our humble agricultural backgrounds, we have embraced innovation, resulting in high production and mechanisation on our family farm,” Mnangagwa said.

He then pivoted to a broader political message.

“I emphasised the importance of unity across the political divide and highlighted how a vibrant opposition strengthens democracy and national development,” he added. Mnangagwa also stressed that Zimbabwe must focus on food self-sufficiency by adopting modern agricultural practices to combat climate challenges.

“I also noted that Zimbabwe must prioritise food self-sufficiency by adopting strategies such as water harvesting, mechanisation, and modern farming technologies to address the challenges of climate change,” Mnangagwa stated. He concluded by urging all leaders to rise above political differences and work together for the nation’s progress.

Despite claims of electoral manipulation and irregularities, with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) declaring Mnangagwa the winner in both elections, the president’s message on unity comes at a time when the nation remains divided over the legitimacy of his rule.

Baba Jukwa On: Justice Luke Malaba’s Khupe-Yellow-Bone-Women Program

By Frank Ndaba | In a scathing cartoon post shared by Baba Jukwa, the infamous whistleblower has commented over what he now dubs the “Malaba Program.” The program allegedly involves Zimbabwe’s Chief Justice Luke Malaba favoring political outcomes that undermine democratic opposition leaders while bolstering select women aligned with certain agendas.

The cartoon portrays Malaba orchestrating a convoluted political game in which Thokozani Khupe, a controversial figure in Zimbabwean politics, and “Fadzi,” a presumed reference to another politically significant woman, are key players. This scheme is aimed at politically isolating Nelson Chamisa, a prominent opposition leader, relegating him to the role of a preacher.

    The Alleged Program

The imagery depicts Chief Justice Malaba handing “Petina” (interpreted as a court victory) to “Fadzi,” while Khupe receives “Precabe” (suggesting a lesser reward or token). President Emmerson Mnangagwa is shown congratulating Khupe, sarcastically thanking her for dismantling Chamisa’s political prospects.

This exposé draws attention to how factional politics and alleged judicial interference are shaping Zimbabwe’s political landscape. The involvement of two “Khupe” figures hints at the manipulation of identity politics and the systematic sidelining of opposition forces.

    A Gendered Political Strategy?

The caricature implies a gendered element to the alleged scheme, referring to a “Yellow-Bone-Women” program that seeks to elevate women compliant with the ruling party’s objectives while diminishing the influence of dissenting voices like Chamisa’s. This reflects long-standing accusations of co-opted female leaders being used to fracture opposition movements.

    Public Reaction

The cartoon has sparked heated debates online. Supporters of Chamisa view it as a vindication of their suspicions about the judiciary’s bias, while critics accuse the creators of sensationalism. One thing is clear: the battle for Zimbabwe’s democracy continues to be fought on multiple fronts.

    Chamisa Denounces Stomach Politicians

    By A Correspondent

President Nelson Chamisa issued a scathing rebuke to politicians who prioritize personal gain over principles, labeling them as turncoats. This statement came on the heels of opposition MPs visiting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm. Chamisa’s remarks, though not directly naming anyone, left little doubt about his disapproval of those who compromise their values for material or power-related benefits.

In a poignant post, Chamisa emphasized the importance of integrity, urging politicians to remain true to themselves and their principles. “BE TRUE… In life; Never sell your soul to evil! Never trade your heart for anything. Never be controlled or captured. Money or power is not everything. Integrity is!” he wrote, concluding with “Blessed Sunday” ¹.

Chamisa’s message served as a critique of political hypocrisy, stressing that genuine leadership is rooted in unwavering principles rather than opportunism. His statement underscored the significance of integrity in politics, encouraging politicians to uphold their values and resist the allure of wealth or power.

Man Beaten To Death Over Sadza Dispute

    By A Correspondent

A shocking incident has unfolded in Village Midzi, Masvingo, where a man has been arrested for allegedly killing his neighbor over a pot of sadza and chicken. Makneme Chikutuva, 41, is accused of assaulting Maxwell Manjonjo, 42, with ox yoke leather straps all over his body after accusing him of theft.

The brutal attack occurred on January 11, 2025, and the suspect’s actions became even more disturbing when, upon seeing the victim struggling to breathe, he callously carried him to Musingarahwi Business Centre, Masvingo, and abandoned him.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have confirmed Chikutuva’s arrest in connection with the murder case.

Chamisa Loyalists Boycott Mnangagwa Farm Meeting

By James Gwati- At least 50 Members of Parliament (MPs) and 11 senators from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) linked to the party’s founding President Nelson Chamisa, boycotted a Zanu PF meeting held at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Precabe Farm in Kwekwe, Sunday.

The CCC, which has a total of 88 MPs and 27 senators, saw only 15 legislators in attendance.

Notably, those present were aligned with Sengezo Tshabangu, the party’s self-imposed and divisive former secretary-general who was recently fired.

The Chamisa loyalists snubbed the meeting following advice from caretaker leader Jameson Timba to steer clear of the event.

Tshabangu appointed many of the MPs who attended after he controversially recalled several legislators following the August 2023 harmonized elections.

Despite the low turnout, Tshabangu downplayed the boycott, describing the event as a success.

“This is the most significant event in the current context of solution-finding, nation-building, and consensus,” Tshabangu said. “Zimbabwe is our country. We will find a way of solving our admittedly self-evident national challenges. There is an answer; we will find a way. All we need is to be brave.”

Among the MPs present were Matabeleland representatives Charles Moyo, Kucaca Phulu, and Thokozani Khupe.

Edwin Mushoriwa, the chief whip of the CCC faction aligned with Welshman Ncube, clarified the absence of many legislators, citing a lack of formal communication from Parliament regarding the meeting.

Observers view the meeting at Precabe Farm as part of a broader strategy by Mnangagwa’s allies to secure opposition support in extending his presidency beyond the constitutionally mandated two terms.
