Woman Battered Over Stray Love Message

By A Correspondent- A woman from Lupane Business Centre was battered by her angry husband after he stumbled on a ‘‘stray’’ love message on her phone.
Caroline Moyo (23), who is a nurse aide, had to dash to a police station to report physical abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband Musa Moyo (38).
The matter was then referred to court.
She told the court: “We were relaxing at home then I received a stray love message on my WhatsApp from an unknown man. My husband, who was just sitting next to me, saw the love message which read: ‘I love you and I cannot wait to meet up with you’. After that he started to accuse me of cheating on him and labelled me a prostitute who sleeps with her colleagues.”
Caroline described her husband as an abusive monster who is in the habit of bashing her whenever a misunderstanding arises between them.
“My husband is very abusive, whenever we have a misunderstanding, he gets angry quickly and hurls insults at me, at times he bashes me while accusing me of being a stubborn woman of loose morals,” she told the court.
Musa shot down his wife’s defence:
“I strongly believe the love message was from her lover because when I tried to wrestle her phone from her so that I could send the message to my phone to use it as an exhibit she quickly deleted it and that cemented my suspicion that she was cheating on me.”
Magistrate Ndumo Masuku found Musa guilty and ordered him to pay a $10 000 fine. If he fails to pay, he will have to spend three months in prison.
Family Exhumes Relative After Body Mixup
By A Correspondent- A family from Lobengula West suburb was left speechless after they were given a wrong body by a funeral parlour and had to travel all the way to Plumtree to exhume the body of their loved one for reburial in Bulawayo.
A family insider, who requested anonymity, said a misunderstanding broke out after the late Mthokozisi Ndlovu’s family members were handed a wrong body by Falakhe Funeral Services officials.
“On Tuesday at around 8am, we left for Falakhe funeral parlour to take the body of our late relative Mthokozisi Ndlovu (34), who had died last week at Thorngrove hospital, for burial at Luveve Cemetery.
“But we were surprised to see the funeral parlour officials seeming to be too busy and dashing about. After about 20 minutes of waiting, one of our relatives approached the official, who told him to wait for some minutes,” said the insider.
A family member, who only identified herself as MaMpo, said an official approached them and explained that they had given their dearly departed’s body to the wrong family.
“The official told us that one of their drivers collected the deceased’s body and it happened that he went off duty for two days, resulting in another driver giving the Brunapeg family Mthokozisi’s body,” she said.
The insider said they had to report the matter to the police and took the body of the family in Plumtree.
“We had to go and engage the family with the help of Falakhe Parlour and they agreed to exhume Mthokozisi’s body so that we bury it here in Bulawayo,” said the source.
The source added: “We buried Mthokozisi at Luveve Cemetery yesterday (Thursday).”
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the body mix-up saga.
“I confirm we received a case where a body was swapped with another body resulting in one family burying a wrong body. The Bulawayo-based family had to travel to Plumtree to exhume the body for burial at Luveve Cemetery. It is important to do body viewing, at least one relative who knows the deceased.”
Grandpa Screams For Help As Attempted Rape Goes Wrong
By A Correspondent- In a rare show of bravery, a quick-thinking 14 year old girl from Bhekani Line in Ntabazinduna, Matabeleland North province, turned into Wonder Woman when she warded off her 49-year-old grandfather, who allegedly attempted to rape her, by violently grabbing his testicles and squeezing them hard.
The Form One girl gave her grandfather a painful lesson when she reportedly gripped one of his testicles with her sharp nails as he was allegedly trying to sexually assault her in her bedroom.
After being attacked, the grandfather screamed for help while begging for forgiveness.
Circumstances of the tale read as follows:
On 8 February 2021 and at around 3pm the girl was in her bedroom cleaning her room. It is reported that her grandfather, who was peeping through the window, saw her and stormed into the bedroom and grabbed her.
While grabbing her, he forcibly fondled her breasts and took off her clothes and underwear. In the process the grandfather is also alleged to have unzipped his trousers and pulled out his manhood.
The girl is alleged to have wrestled with him and at the height of the struggle, she grabbed his testicles and squeezed them so hard that he wailed for help.
After thwarting her grandfather’s evil move, the girl is alleged to have escaped, leaving him lying helpless on the floor. She went to her grandmother’s bedroom where she narrated the nasty ordeal to her.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the man’s arrest.
For that offence of attempting to defile her granddaughter, the man was brought before the court and he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomasiko Ndlovu.
He was not asked to plead to a charge of attempted rape and was remanded in custody to 23 April 2021.
End Of The Road For Chipezeze ?
The selection of Elvis Chipezeze to keep goal for the Warriors has always been an unpopular choice among football fans since June 2019.
The 29-year-old Baroka shot-stopper made high school blunders which cost the Warriors in a decisive last group game against DRC at AFCON, a display which many have not forgiven him for.
He would keep his place in goal regardedless, as after the continent spectacle, Joey Antipas, who had replaced Sunday ‘Mhofu’ Chidzambwa in the Warriors dugout, preferred him ahead of George Chigova and Edmore Sibanda.
The current Warriors technical team, led by firebrand Croat Zdravko Logarusic, also named him in the starting eleven in the crunch tie against Algeria in Algiers last November.
Insiders close to the the Logarusic-led technical team however indicated that they named Chipezeze not out of preference, but simply because Tatenda Mkuruva, whose exploits are hugely-admired by the Croat, failed to travel from the United States, where he is on the ranks of Michigan Stars, due to Covid-19 related travelling complications.
Chipezeze was, objectively-speaking, to blame for the first goal the Warriors conceded, after he punched the ball back into play, for a glad Baghdad Bounedjah to fire home the rebound.
He (Chipezeze) would later on in the game be replaced by big Talbert Shumba, owing to a knee injury, a setback which ruled him out of the return fixture at the National Sports Stadium four days later.
When the provisional Warriors squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia was announced yesterday, perhaps one of, if not the biggest surprise, was the ommission of Chipezeze.
In fact, Logarusic named Spain-based Martin Mapisa and Mkuruva, despite there being no guarantee the duo will make it due to traveling complications.
The Warriors coach, with that in mind, still left out Chipezeze.
He hasn’t featured regularly for Baroka of late either. He was in goal for the Limpopo-based only once in the last five matches, making Loga’s decision somewhat justifiable.
At 29, and turning 30 next month, while competing with younger goalkeepers like Mapisa and Mkuruva, can this be regarded as the end of Chipezeze in the Warriors fold?- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Kaizer Chiefs To Sell Billiat?
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly now considering selling Khama Billiat whose contract is up for renewal in the coming months.
Billiat arrived at Amakhosi in 2018 as a free agent after his deal with Mamelodi Sundowns was not renewed. He signed a three-year contract with an option of extending it with another season.
According to Soccer Laduma, Chiefs want to exercise that one-year option and sell him.
The Soweto giants are now open to offers because they have accepted that they are not getting a return from their investment.
The 30-year old has only managed 15 goals in 79 games at Kaizer Chiefs, a lower scoring rate than what he achieved at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Asked about an update on contract talks, Billiat’s representative, Godfrey Bakasa said:
“There are no talks yet (with Chiefs), they are just concentrating on him recovering. The team needs him fit and playing again, that is the situation at the moment.”
Billiat was recently linked with Al Ahly and Pyramids in the Egyptian Premier League, but it’s understood he is not keen on leaving South Africa.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Dear @econetzimbabwe, with all due respect I would like to express my disappointment in your below par service that you are providing these days. Please know that these bundles are being bought by people’s sweat to expire without being used. Just address the problem, thank you.
The above sentiments were echoed by Tatenda Chipepwe who tweeted claiming to be a loyal customer.
@econet_support econet we really trust and support your services but, I really get disappointed at times when we buy our bundles and that is where your network starts behaving in a manner that is not friendly unto us “CUSTOMERS”PLEASE HELP US WE ARE PROUDLY BUDDIE USERS.

Some customers however claimed that even when they report their issues as instructed, they were not getting the assistance they expected.

Econet would “sincerely apologise for the delayed response” and urge customers to “please visit your nearest Econet shop in possession of your identity card so that a complete registration can be completed on the sim card.”
Econet Wireless is the biggest Mobile Network Operator (MNO) in the country and at one point, other network providers begrudged the telecoms company for its stable and strong internet.
Sadly, the MNO has of late been a shadow of its former self as it has constantly struggled to ensure a stable and dependable network
Freelance Journalist Arrested
By A Correspondent- Freelance journalist Kumbirai Mafunda was on Friday arrested by police while conducting his lawful duties at the Harare Magistrates Court.
Mafunda, who is the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) Communications Officer, was later freed without aa charge after the intervention of lawyers Tinashe Chinopfukutwa and Jeremiah Bamu.
Posting on Twitter, ZLHR Executive Director Roselyn Hanzi said the wanton detention, arbitrary arrest or harassment of journalists must be condemned.

The wanton detention, arbitrary arrest or harassment of journalists must be strongly condemned by everyone.
This is not the first time journalists have been harassed while conducting their duties during the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
In April last year, freelance journalist Terence Sipuma was reportedly assaulted by members of the police and the army in Harare while conducting his duties.
Sipuma was stopped by the security officers at the Kuwadzana roundabout in Harare while on his way to Chegutu to report on Zimbabwe’s 21-day COVID-19 lockdown.

According to ZimFact, the college’s Principal, Evans Musara said letter is fake and was manufactured by “people who are surviving on peddling falsehoods.”

Jairos Jiri Appeals For Donation To Settle ZESA Bill
By A Correspondent- The Jairos Jiri Association Rusape Centre is appealing for financial donations to enable it to pay its bill to the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of power utility ZESA Holdings.
Jairos Jiri Association Mukuwapasi Children’s Centre Manageress, H. Kuture said the institution had accumulated ZWL$100 000.00 as of January 2021 in unpaid bills to ZETDC. Said Kuture:
Most recently the Centre had a pre-paid metre installed on 28 January 2021. We were left with only 200 units of electricity to use.
We are anticipating that the schools will be opened soon and without electricity, the centre will be in a difficult situation to cater for the children.
The staff is currently contributing ZWL$500-00 monthly per individual that makes it ZWL$7 500-00 in total to buy ZETDC tokens which is not much considering that ZETDC is recovering 80% of the bill from every purchase made.
We are therefore kindly requesting your hand in any form to enable us to settle or reduce ZETDC debt so that we can be able to purchase the ZETDC tokens normally
The centre caters for an average of 55 children yearly from different backgrounds which includes physically challenged, hard of hearing and visually impaired, mostly from disadvantaged or less privileged families.
It provides accommodation that is tailor-made to suit the children’s special conditions as they are enrolled by St Faith’s schools both primary and secondary.

Your Treachery Is Shocking, Hon Hwende Tells Timveos
Tinashe Sambiri|MDC MDC Alliance Secretary General, Hon Charlton Hwende has described Senator Lilian Timveos’ treachery as shocking.
Senator Timveos and Hon Blessing Chebundo shocked all and sundry when they joined Zanu PF.
Timveos wrote a piece attacking Hon Hwende, in a desperate attempt to defend her decision to join Zanu PF.
See Hon Hwende’s statement below:
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
ZANU PF has continued with its protracted war of attrition against the MDC Alliance and its leadership.
The regime is using our erstwhile colleagues who have left us and joined their moribund regime to attack and destabilize the MDC Alliance through peddling malicious falsehoods and scurrilous allegations especially against my person. The intention is to weaken the MDC Alliance leadership and destabilize the party. It is not surprising as most regimes bone out of a coup entrench themselves through cooptation of opposition elements and systematic targeting of their legitimate opponents.
We are a natural target since our President won the 2018 election whose victory the regime stole from us.
While it is not in the ordinary for me to respond to ZANU PF allegations on our internal issues, I would like to address some of the concerns considering that they are intended to damage both my personal integrity and most importantly the repute of the party. First, allegations were levelled that party funds have been misappropriated.
In addition to our audit (of the party finances in the period after 2019 congress) which was successful I must state that we have tried and tested systems of deploying financial resources in the organisation which leave no room for misappropriation by any single individual.
While human beings are fallible, systems are fail-safe. I take pride in the systems we have put in place which cannot be manipulated in the manner suggested.
Second, the allegation that I have tormented people in meetings to the point of tears and even drove a few to the absurd, deplorable and treacherous act of joining ZANU P.F. is laughable. Constitutional meetings of organs of the party have continued uninterrupted since congress in the physical and virtually in instances where we are unable to meet physically due to lockdown restrictions. The organ that was singled out by ZANU PF speaking through the renegades, the Standing Committee, is chaired by the party President. In all our Standing Committee meetings, our President has ensured that meeting etiquette is observed in line with our democratic principles of tolerance, diversity of thought and freedom of speech. Should it be the case that a member feels they have been treated unfairly by another, the party has competent mechanisms to address grievances as a way of ensuring that our platforms remain safe spaces. I state here that if any member feels aggrieved by my conduct, I am personally available and willing to subject myself before organs of the party to answer to such allegations. I presented myself before congress in Gweru and had I not been elected, I was ready and willing to work with the one elected; such is my faith and confidence in the competency of our internal democracy. In the same spirit, I am open to criticism and correction. Be this as it may, I know that the current spurt of attacks is orchestrated by ZANU PF to put a wedge between the SG and the office of the President. These efforts will continue to fail dismally as I am not mistaken in the execution of my mandate to serve the institution and to give unquestionable support to our President Adv Nelson Chamisa.
For the record those who have left the MDC Alliance have done so voluntarily without any undue pressure from any quarter. No one was pushed out of the MDC Alliance.
It must astonish any right thinking citizen that those who claim to be running away from being insulted in private in the MDC Alliance are joining ZANU PF, a party which has not only insulted them publicly in the past but has maimed and killed thousands of MDC Alliance supporters. That kind of duplicity and treachery is shocking.
We all know that those who have left the MDC Alliance and joined ZANU PF have done so to benefit from ZANU PF patronage and corruption. Others have done so after failing to recover from their loss in the popularity contest during our elective congress in 2019. We will work better to give the necessary psychological support to sore “losers” as well as ideological orientation to members that in a democratic organisation like the MDC Alliance we are all winners when the best is deployed and congress must never be the basis of terminal acrimony.
Those who have decided to join the gravy train are free to do so but they should never justify their treacherous behaviour by peddling falsehoods and mudslinging those who have chosen to keep fighting and speaking for the people. Despite the odds, the people’s movement has persevered with the unwavering support of the jobless graduate, the starving pensioner, the vending mother in the dusty streets of Harare right to the support of the farmer in the last hut in Umguza. I personally will never betray the people’s cause. We are up against a ruthless enemy but we will prevail. The final call is unchanged. The journey is like a pendulum swing; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left but the final call remains unchanged, victory is certain.

Where’s Susan Mutami, Where Are Her Beans?
“Hie Twimbos thank you all for your support. I haven’t been refunded my money yet for missing my flights,my Covid tests etc,” announced Temba Mliswa’s ex girlfriend Susan Mutami.
She continued saying: ” Hope you are all well and no amount of intimidation will stop me from spilling the beans. Stay tuned and stay safe,” she said in Wednesday.
Where is she now, in Australia, or still in Zimbabwe?
What beans is she releasing, real beans or her private concoctions?

By A Correspondent | This is not UK, Sweden or some other foreign nation, this is her country of birth -Susan Mutami’s whereabouts have been a hot internet search code since last week Friday.
The development comes after Mutami went underground after being blocked from flying back to Australia.
The Aussie citizen was last week told she cannot leave the country until she gives official state witness testimony into her allegations against her ExBoyfriend. She says Mliswa among other things has sounded out intentions to poison the ZANU PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son, and Local government minister July Minister. She also said Mliswa has in his possession undisclosed top security information on the White City bombing on June 2018.
Contacted for a comment Mutami’s lawyer told ZimEye that she will come out soon. She said, “she is alive, she is ok and she is safe.I can’t say much due to professional ethics; She will come back to you soon.”
Also commenting on the development, state sources told ZimEye, Mutami is still in the country. They said this without disclosing her exact location. Other sources said that she is living at a local hotel in Harare.
It seemed convincing Mutami is playing an the aussie whistleblower, Julian Assange, hiding technique, having spoken out what could be the greatest secret of all time, the bombing of the then President Of Zimbabwe and his deputy in June 2018 at White City, Bulawayo, an attack that got at least two people killed.
While it could not be established at the time of writing where she is, Mutami herself had by last Saturday afternoon told ZimEye, she has now submitted her witness statement to the police and is now working towards getting a ticket.

Will Highlanders Win Matches After Adopting Mnangagwa’s Name Brand?
COVID-19 And Diabetes
No matter what’s going on in the world, maintaining a healthy, whole foods–focused diet is important for blood sugar management.
If you’ve been keeping up with federal guidance on who’s at a higher risk for complications from COVID-19, you know that people with diabetes are among the affected groups.
People older than 60, along with those who have underlying health conditions such as respiratory problems, high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, and cancer are also at a higher risk for serious illness from the novel coronavirus, notes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Furthermore, non-Hispanic Black Americans, Hispanics, and Asian Americans, all of whom have higher rates of both diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetes than white Americans, per the National Diabetes Statistics Report, are also at higher risk for serious COVID-19 disease, including complications and death, as has been widely reported.
Yet it’s still unclear whether diabetes can leave a person at an elevated risk of getting infected in the first place, notes the American Diabetes Association (ADA). This is apparently true despite research, including a review published in the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, showing that the immune systems of people with persistent hyperglycemia (higher than normal blood glucose, or sugar) are impaired.
Scientific Research Linking Diabetes and COVID-19 Complications
People with type 1 and type 2 diabetes are both three to four times more likely to develop serious COVID-19 disease and be hospitalized than those who don’t have diabetes, according to a study published online in December 2020 in Diabetes Care. A small preliminary study published in the March 2020 issue of Diabetes Metabolism Research and Reviews provides more insight into what’s affecting the severity. It looked at 174 people in Wuhan, China, and concluded that people with COVID-19 and diabetes but without other comorbidities were at a higher risk for severe pneumonia and the inflammation that contributes to an accelerated progression of COVID-19 and a worse prognosis.
What You Need to Know About COVID-19 if You Have Lupus
From Nose to Toes, the List of COVID-19 Symptoms Keeps Growing
Another study, which was published in April 2020 the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology, analyzed 1,122 people at 88 hospitals in 11 U.S. states, and drew a link between diabetes and a fourfold increased risk of dying from COVID-19. Glytec, a provider of insulin software management, funded the research.
A study published online in May 2020 in Cell Metabolism supports these findings. For this cohort study, researchers analyzed the health data of 7,337 people in Wuhan with and without type 2 diabetes. They observed an association between having diabetes and an increased risk of dying from COVID-19.
Those with stable blood sugar levels had a better prognosis than those with diabetes whose blood sugar control was poor. In fact, the survival rate for those with good blood sugar control was nearly 99 percent, compared with an 11 percent death rate among those whose control was considered poor. Participants’ blood sugar levels were measured using postprandial and fasting blood glucose tests. The authors defined poor blood sugar control as tending to exceed 180 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL), and well-controlled blood sugar as ranging from 70 to 180 mg/dL
Diabetes Complications Can Increase Risk of Severe Illness From COVID-19
Still, having complications related to diabetes, along with increasing age, may matter more than blood sugar control, suggested a study published in April 2020 in Diabetologia, which analyzed 1,317 people admitted to 53 French hospitals during a three-week period in March 2020. Study authors concluded that 10 percent of people with diabetes admitted to a hospital died within 10 days, and that men were more likely to die than women. The main contributing factors to death were having complications including neuropathy and heart disease, having a high body mass index (BMI) —indicating obesity — and being older. Patients between ages 65 and 74 were three times more likely to die than individuals younger than 55.
People with type 2 diabetes are definitely at higher risk of COVID-19 complications and death, but those with type 1 or gestational diabetes may also be at higher risk, according to recent guidance by the CDC. In the French study, 3 percent of admitted patients had type 1 diabetes, while 89 percent had type 2 diabetes. The remainder of diabetes patients had other types of the disease.
Black people who have type 1 diabetes and COVID-19 may be especially vulnerable to worse outcomes because they are more likely to present with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a condition that causes the blood to become acidic and that can be life-threatening in its own right. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism in December 2020 found that 55 percent of Black clinic patients and 33 percent of Hispanic patients presented with DKA, compared with only 13 percent of white patients. “The shared risk of COVID-19 and DKA in type 1 diabetes worsens the short-term and long-term prognosis for Black and Hispanic patients,” said the study authors, also noting that “previous studies have demonstrated an increased risk of DKA among minority populations with type 1 diabetes.”

Understanding COVID-19 and Its Symptoms
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause diseases including the common cold, but also more severe illnesses, such as Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS); severe acute respiratory syndrome ( SARS); and COVID-19, which first became known at the end of 2019 during an outbreak in the city of Wuhan in China’s Hubei province and has since developed into a global pandemic.
According to the WHO, common symptoms of COVID-19 include:
Fever
Tiredness
Dry cough
Aches and pains
Nasal congestion
Runny nose
Sore throat
Loss of taste or smell
Skin rashes
Pain in the muscles or joints
Discolored fingers or toes
Diarrhea
Some infected people have no symptoms at all, but they can still spread the virus.
The CDC describes the emergency warning signs for COVID-19 in adults as:
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
New confusion or inability to wake up or stay awake
Bluish lips or face
Inability to rouse or stay awake
If you are experiencing these symptoms, call 911 or call ahead to the hospital and let them know you are seeking care for COVID-19 or may have it, the CDC advises.
If you are interested in getting a test and want to know how to proceed, contact your local or state health department. The CDC lists state and territorial departments, and the National Association of County and City Health Officials has a directory you can use to find your local department.
For most people, the disease is mild, and many don’t develop symptoms at all. A South Korean study published in August 2020 in JAMA Internal Medicine looked at young people, the vast majority of whom were healthy, and found that 30 percent of those infected with the virus causing COVID-19 never developed symptoms at all. COVID-19 symptoms are mild for most others, although 10–15 percent of infected people do become seriously ill, and 5 percent become critically ill, according to WHO. Mortality estimates vary, but a New York–based study published in October 2020 in the Journal of Hospital Medicine found that 7.6 percent of hospitalizations resulted in death in August, down from 25.6 percent in March, when infection began to spread in the United States.
It’s important to note that the risk of death from COVID-19 is far greater than from influenza (flu), a disease it is frequently compared with. More than 340,000 people died of COVID-19 in the United States in 2020, according to CDC data. In contrast, the nation loses between 12,000 and 61,000 people per year to influenza, reports the CDC.

We Remain Focused And Undeterred:MDC Alliance
There has arisen debate on the move by former MDC Alliance members to Zanu PF. Whilst it is not a big event, as non cowards and patriots, we don’t hesitate to take the plunge.
Firstly, the MDC Alliance is a political party ideologically rooted on social democratic values. Amongst these values is freedom of expression and association.
That right, among many are sacrosanct. We are therefore not in any way taken aback by the decision to exercise their democractic and constitutional guaranteed rights.
We know however that at this point in time Zanu pf is doing all it can to take Zimbabwe back to 1983- creation of a one party state by dismantling alternative ideas; vanquishing, jailing, detaining and scaring both the popular party and civil society leaders.
The constant arrest and detentions of professionals and activists including Makomborero Haruzivishe, Hon Joana Mamombe, Netsai Marova, Cecilia Chimbiri, Takudzwa Ngadziore, Allan Moyo, Hopewell Chin’ono, Hon Job Sikhala, Jacob Ngarivhume, Advocate Fadzayi Mahere, Hon Biti, Gladys Hlatywayo, VP Karenye Kore, Hon Amos Chibaya, SG Charlton Hwende, Lovemore Chinoputsa, Ostalos Siziba, Ralph Magunje Cllr Jacob Mafume, Obey Sithole, Tatenda Mombeyarara, Mrs Tome, David Chimhini, Prince Gora, Hither Mpambwa, Denford Ngadziore, Godfrey Kurauone, Terrence Manjengwa and many others is part of that plot.
On the same, the vampire state co-opts some leaders from the opposition as a deceptive show of mighty.
The agenda is not just to incapacitate the opposition but stiffle dissent from within Zanu PF.
ZANU pf will not succeed in its one party pursuit. It has been exposed!
MDC Alliance is a people’s party. That party is hidden in people’s hearts. No violence, detentions, co-option or propaganda will weaken that treasure.
MDC Alliance is a transparent organisation, which recently published its audited accounts. The first of its kind. Peddling falsehoods and an attack on the leadership of the party by ZANU pf is a non event. We are accountable to the masses of Zimbabwe, which was done satisfactorily.
The people of Zimbabwe remain clear on the march for a democratic developmental state. Happiness and prosperity are what the people want.
The creation of rebels by ZANU pf in the name of MDC T can not distract the people’s train.
In fact, the national socio- economic and political instability caused by Zanu PF is a bigger national threat than their MDC T project.
The balooning illegal bad debt by Mthuli Ncube is a threat to Zimbabwe. All because of Zanu PF’s predatory and looting nature.
The capture of state institutions including other media houses is another threat to Zimbabwe. The judiciary is not safe. Parliament was rigged and silenced through illegal recalls.
Taxation is too high and yet Zim average wages are below the regional average of $300USD/month. This is inspite of Zimbabwe’s vast wealth.
Zimbabweans must know that every child born in Zimbabwe assumes a debt of $923USD upon birth. Its a scandal of huge proportions.
Zanu PF borrows without parliamentary oversight and spends without parliamentaty oversight.
They loot everything, gold, diamonds, fuel, fertilisers for farmers, mines, urban land, pangolins and lions.
Parastatals like Zinara, Zupco, National Railways, Zesa, Air Zimbabwe are on their knees because of executive looting.
Zimbabwe is in a serious crisis.
A crisis of legitimacy.
The justice system is very selective and captured. They arrest and detain selectively. Cllr Madzokere and Last Maengahama are wrongly serving 20 years just to show force. But those that pocketed millions of money and gold walk scot free.
The looters are all known but protected by the vampire sysyem.
Zimbabweans deserve better. The good thing is that even some in Zanu PF have begun to see the light.
The one party state agenda will collapse within Zanu PF itself. Zanu pf’s perceived or real use of ethnicity as a carrot will soon explode.
We see only one answer at the moment.
A People’s Government born out of a free expression of the people through free and fair elections is the antidote.
Justice on past transgressions like Gukurahundi, Operations hakudzokwi, wavhoteta papi and August 1 2018 among others remains necessary to build a desirable, stable and progressive Zimbabwe.
The SADC region and the international community must continue to reign on the Harare leadership. Peace and stability can not and must not be traded for ego and power in Zimbabwe.
President Nelson Chamisa and MDC Alliance is ready to lead Zimbabwe to be great again.
Zimbabwe has great potential given the abundant resources at its disposal including its soils, minerals, human capital just to mention but a few.
Together we will win Zimbabwe for change. From Zambezi to Limpopo- Zimbabweans are clear: that Zanu PF must go.

Land Baron Under Anti Corruption Radar After Being Allowed To Attend Funeral While On Remand
Felix Munyaradzi, who was in remand prison for illegally parcelling out land is alleged to have been clandestinely allowed to attend his mother-in-law’s funeral in Zvimba, without being granted bail by a court.
The complaint has since been forwarded to the Special Anti-Corruption Unit (SACU) and the Police Anti-Corruption Unit (PACU) for further investigations.
Munyaradzi was arrested last year on allegations of duping people who wanted to buy stands at Sandton near Westgate in Harare before he was later freed on $55 000 bail and other stringent conditions set after spending some days in prison.
However, in new twist of events, a Harare man, Collen Mavhundutse (38) made a report to the police to investigate allegations that Munyaradzi allegedly connived with two Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) officers to allow him to attend the funeral.
According to the report made, after attending the funeral, it is further alleged that Munyaradzi then went to sleep at his house in Borrowdale before returning to prison the following day.
He is also alleged to have slaughtered two beasts for the two officers before giving them about 200 chickens.
The Herald is in possession of a copy of a sworn affidavit made by Mavhundutse to the police on Tuesday.
“I wish to state that I know Felix Munyaradzi for more than 20 years. I also know him as the director of Delatfin Investment (Pvt) Ltd.
“I recall sometime on the 14th of August 2020 when I was in Zvimba, Chirau area, when Felix Munyaradzi lost his father-in-law, I was surprised to see him attending the funeral since I knew he was in custody at Harare Remand Prison.
“He was in the presence of two prison officers dressed in civilian clothes. I believe this is not proper.
“After the burial, Munyaradzi went to sleep to his Borrowdale home and then returned back to prison the following day,” read part of the statement.
“I also established that Felix Munyaradzi slaughtered two beasts for the prison officers and gave them 200 slaughtered chickens which were destined for Harare Remand Prison.
“I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing all above facts as correct.”
Circumstances leading to Munyaradzi’s arrest are that during 2015, his firm Delatfin Investments, entered into a swap deal with Mr Delish Nguwaya for the sale of stands in exchange for a Toyota Prado.
Delatfin Investments sold three residential stands – 1572, 1516 and 1471 – in Sandton Park in Mt Hampden, worth US$50 000 and Mr Nguwaya surrendered the Prado and an agreement of sale was signed on February 2, 2018.
It is alleged that Munyaradzi went on to sell the stands to other people, and when Mr Nguwaya complained, he agreed to compensate him with eight smaller stands in Sandton Park.
But then Munyaradzi allegedly went on to sell one of the stands to Tawanda Mashumba for US$30 000.
It is the State’s case that Mr Nguwaya was aware that the stand in question had already been sold, and he lost US$15 000 in the process.
On April 20, 2015, Delatfin Investments was offered 120 hectares of State land by the Ministry of Local Government to develop residential stands. The land was previously used by the police for breeding horses.
In 2016, Munyaradzi through his firm, allegedly sold a stand fraudulently to Mrs Gabaza for US$18 000, a stand in Sandton Phase 3 to Mr Dondo for US$22 000, and another stand in the same neighbourhood to Mr Makodza for US$40 000.
Mr Makodza is said to have later discovered his stand had allegedly been sold for a second time to Mrs Nyongo by Munyaradzi, forcing him to lodge a complaint with the police.- Herald
More Than 50 Activists Stage Demo Demanding Mako’s Freedom

By A Correspondent- MDC Alliance trio, Joana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri, and Netsai Marova were among more than 50 activists who staged a protest in Harare demanding the release of their colleague, Haruzivishe Makomborero.
The picketers who were holding placards branded “Free Mako Now” and “Stop Judicial Capture,” staged a flash protest outside the Harare High Court on Thursday.
Makomborero, a pro-democracy campaigner, is being charged with kidnapping, participating in a gathering with intent to commit public violence, and breaching peace or bigotry.
Addressing protesters after Makomborero had been denied bail Thursday, Mamombe said:
We are worried that this weaponization of law by the police and growing persecution of activists has a pernicious and gnawing effect on our ‘nascent’ democracy.
Today we send a clear and unequivocal message to this regime. We are not afraid! We will not be neutral in the face of brutality and weaponization of the law. We will not stand aside while our country is turned into a banana republic. Our resolve is unshakeable and our faith in a new Zimbabwe unbreakable.
Makomborero’s lawyers claim the former Zimbabwe National Students Union secretary-general was arrested last week at gunpoint and were probably intending to torture him.
They also claim that the security agents who took Makomborero were forced to drop him off at Harare Central police station after he screamed hysterically.
The state alleges that Makomborero, together with others, forced his way into Impala Motor Spares and detained employees whom they accused of causing the arrest of their colleague Takudzwa Ngadziore last year.
He is denying the charges.

Unprecedented As Govt Dumps WHO, UNICEF From COVID-19 Activities
Government has suspended the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) from participating in Covid-19 programmes, in an unprecedented move that may have farreaching consequences in fighting the pandemic.
The Zimbabwe Independent gathered that Health and Child Care permanent secretary Jasper Chimedza, on Tuesday, ordered the international health partners to stop, forthwith, Covid-19 activities for the next three weeks.
A senior government official last night said Covid-19 vaccination was a sole responsibility of the government and cannot be outsourced to “private operators or NGOs (non-governmental organisations)”.
Chimedza dropped the bombshell on the UN agencies when the teams were preparing to monitor the ongoing vaccination of health workers by government using Chinese-donated Sinopharm vaccines.
The Health and Child Care permanent secretary and the deputy minister, John Mangwiro could not comment yesterday, as they were said to be busy.
“I am in a meeting; much tied up. Can you get in touch with me in about three or four hours,” Mangwiro said. He did not answer subsequent phone calls.
It is understood that some programmes such as the WHO Covax vaccination plans will go ahead as planned since the government has already signed the memorandum of understanding.
The European Union office in Harare confirmed this in a tweet on Wednesday: “Fabulous to see that the #Covax rollout has begun in Africa! #Zimbabwe will also very soon get 1,152 million doses under the Covax scheme, to which #TeamEurope is the biggest contributor”.
The reasons for the suspension were not yet clear as the government is said to have failed to properly communicate its message to its long-time health partners.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services minister Monica Mutsvangwa said: “We are working very closely with all our partners”.
However, high-level officials said the government was “on its own” after dumping WHO and Unicef.
“All international partners in the health sector were suspended from participating in Covid-19-related programmes. They have not been doing anything since Tuesday,” an official, who cannot be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, said.
“What happened is that teams from WHO, Unicef, Crown Agents, John Snow Inc (JSI) and others had gathered at WHO offices in Harare on Tuesday morning waiting to go for an assessment of the vaccination programme, but the government ordered the organisations to suspend such Covid-19 activities.”
Another official added: “According to what was communicated to us, these organisations can continue with other programmes, but are not supposed to be involved in anything to do with Covid-19. This means we are as of now unable to train healthcare workers, support visits to health institutions, and PPE provision.
“We were told to continue doing other programmes which have nothing to do with Covid-19. We await government directive on the way forward.”
Unicef spokesperson James Maiden said the organisation will continue to play its role in partnering the government in sourcing for vaccines.
He said: “Unicef continues to play a key role in the rollout of vaccinations in Zimbabwe in partnership with the government and many other development partners.
“Unicef is central to the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine globally through the Covax facility and in Zimbabwe is working with the government and other partners in preparing the country to receive and distribute vaccines.
“This role includes preparation and technical support, procurement of the Covax vaccines and behavioural change communications,” he added.
Maiden went on to say: “Unicef is pivotal in supporting many areas of the overall Covid-19 national response pillars including coordination, risk communication and community engagement, infection prevention and control, case management, education, supply and logistics.”
WHO country representative for Zimbabwe Alex Gasasira said they would also continue partnering with the government in the fight against Covid-19.
“WHO continues to work with the government of Zimbabwe and all its institutions, including the Ministry of Health and Child Care in the national Covid-19 response effort,” he said.
Unicef is facilitating supply of free Covid-19 vaccines in partnership with the European Union, Geneva-based organisation Gavi the Vaccine Alliance, which is a public-private global health partnership, whose main aim is to enable access to immunisation in poor countries, the Global Fund for Health and other donors.
According to sources in the health sector, these initiatives could actually see Zimbabwe vaccinate its entire population for free before the end of the year.
Other affected organisations, which have been working closely with the government since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March last year include the Crown Agents Ltd, a nonprofit international development corporation headquartered in London, United Kingdom, and has subsidiaries in the US and Japan.
As stated on its website, the organisation works in partnership with governments, institutions, donors, foundations, philanthropists and the private sector to tackle complex challenges, ranging from procuring and delivering PPEs and vaccines.
JSI is a US-based organisation, which has been helping the government in conducting public health research, technical and managerial assistance to public health programmes under WHO.

MDC A Mash West Women Assembly Statement on the Exit of Timvious & Chebundo | FULL TEXT

The exit of Senator Lilian Timvious & Blessing Chebundo from the MDC Alliance party is welcome here in Mashonaland West, as ours is a party which respects the rights to freedoms.
As women, we are the torchbearers of our struggle and we guard it jealously as we have many women who were raped, beaten, tortured, houses burnt, husbands & children were killed. Many women were left disabled because of brutal violence from the ZanuPF regime. We are pained daily as women lose new born babies due to a health delivery system that has been razed down to ashes by the regime. Our hearts break for our graduate children who cannot get jobs because there is no industry and even though they have the entrepreneurial edge, the business environment is hostile.
Therefore women in Mash West are focused on the continued fight for:
- A people’s government , reforms & legitimacy
- Better livelihoods
- An end to corruption
- People’s rights & the rule of law.
- A return to the Constitution & Constitutionalism
Under the able able leadership of President Nelson Chamisa, we will usher a new Zimbabwe with a transformed life.
As such we see the attacks on our party’s Secretary General as sour grapes of people who can’t bring down our president. We know that the authors of that statement are bitter people who are finding our Secretary General a stumbling block for them to abuse our President and the party. The attack on our President is an attack on the people. At the Gweru congress in 2019 we put a Secretary General who has the eye of an African hammerhead, who can see & can sniff traitors, and they know it. As such he is frustrating them because he sees their game and blocks it way ahead of them. Women know the enemy. Women know the enemy’s tricks – Divide, Divert & Destroy. We are ready. We stand firm in support of our party’s Secretary General, Hon Chalton Hwende.
The women of Mashonaland West remain focused & continue to organise, energize, inspire the grassroots & grow the party. With President Nelson Chamisa, together we will win Zimbabwe for change. Until Victory: ZANU PF MUST GO.

Allegations Against Me Laughable: Hwende
MDC Alliance Secretary General, Charlton Hwende has denied claims by former deputy treasurer Lillian Timveous that he harassed and conspired against party members during standing committee meetings.
In a statement titled, Setting the record straight, Hwende accused Zanu PF of using opposition colleagues to destabilise the MDC Alliance.

Imi Amai imi tinyareiwo…
I have come across a number of statements purported to have been written by the former Deputy Treasurer whom in all intents and purpose had ceased to hold that position having resigned a couple of weeks ago.
I have read some of her sentiments which I find hard to believe she is the one who penned them especially given her track record in the non-meaning of her both writings and non-writings.
It is alien for me to respond to foolish statements but on this occasion I have seen it fit to set the record straight lest the nation risks being misled, I am responding so that this woman can be exposed of her foolishness.
In justifying her betrayal of the Zimbabwean masses by joining the chief architects of all forms of human suffering, she weaves some lies in a desperate attempt to make meaning out her move.
Madam Lilian, you suggest that you chose to join ZANUPF because you were being bullied, assuming it is true, does it then make it better for you to leave boardroom bullies and moving on to join bedroom bullies in the mold of Kembo?
You wrote about violence in our party as yet another reason for your departure, again assuming it is true, have you forgotten that it is the same ZANUPF that orchestrated the short and long sleeve?
Is it not the same ZANUPF that butchered Morgan Tsvangirai whom you claimed to so love dearly during his life? Is it not the same ZANUPF that has killed thousands of youths and has abducted many to date?
As I write today, a brilliant young leader, Makomborero Haruzivishe is in court facing trumped up charges for simply having chosen to courageous enough to stand for the truth unlike you who has chosen cowardice over courage.
Young women such as Joanah et al are in court day in and day out at the hands of the same ZANUPF regime that you miraculously purport to be so peaceful.
Foolishness doesn’t discriminate with age, even those born in 1973 can be foolish too and Madam Lilian has stood out to be the most recent testimony.
For the record, we are not worried about your sentiments neither are we moved, we remain focused with our eyes on the ball until we deal decisively with the incumbent regime which has for a long time bred untold suffering and violence to the people of Zimbabwe.
“Wakurumidza kumedza, kutsenga uchada.” This was one of my favorite proverbs during my time as an A’ Level student at Nemakonde. Since ChiShona was one of the subjects I was studying, I fell in love with many of these proverbial lines.
True to the meaning of this proverb, fast forward to the present day, I find it meaningful for use in response to the lies made by the former Deputy Treasurer.
We all know that even selling out comes with a cost and we understand that you’re trying you best to fit in the house of looters and murderers but please don’t buy your seat with lies.
Sell your soul peacefully, leave silently and leave us alone; speak more about your new home stop masquerading as our Spokesperson.
Of all what you have said and done, there is a definition to it, it is BETRAYAL.
Betrayal of those who have been tortured, arrested and killed.

FULL TEXT: MDC Alliance Secretary General Hwende Sets The Record Straight On Timveos Claims

Bulawayo City Council Fills ‘Death Traps’
Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has started filling up the “pits of death” in Pelandaba West suburb and is employing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to map and identify similar dangerous spots across the city.
Three people died early this month when they drowned in the pits, causing an outcry from residents and pressure groups.
The council started filling up the disused gaping holes on Tuesday which look like remnants of an open cast mine.
Earth moving machinery was deployed on site as council started rehabilitating the land which has become more of shafts due to the disused pits.
The deep holes are said to have been caused by sand poachers who took advantage of the construction of houses in most new suburbs.
A Chronicle news crew visited the site on Wednesday and found council staff rehabilitating the land by covering the pits.
Two weeks ago, Shane Ngona (20) from Pumula North drowned while taking a bath at the black spot and Nqobizitha Mhlanga (18) from the same suburb also drowned while attempting to rescue him.
The incident occurred just five days after a 15-year-old boy from Pelandaba West drowned while playing with friends at the same water body.
Ward 27 Councillor Alderman Siboniso Khumalo said it was a relief that council had acted to fill up the pits.
He said the loss of lives and rehabilitation of the environment calls for citizens to protect their surroundings.
One of the pits that was filled up with soil in Pelandaba. The pits had become a death trap in the area
“This is a problem that is caused by sand poachers. They do not understand that the city is paying a price for their irresponsible actions. Resources that could have been used to improve service delivery are now being channelled towards filling those pits. Unfortunately lives that were lost cannot be replaced. We are told that some of the pits were about five metres deep and anyone who plunged into them was at high risk of drowning,” said Ald Khumalo.
He said residents should avoid playing near similar water bodies.
Mr Khumbulani Maphosa from the Matabeleland Institute of Human Rights who was at the forefront of demanding that council should fill up the pits, commended the local authority for taking action, albeit after lives had been lost.

Mnangagwa Celebrates After Getting A “Juzi” From Bosso
Emmerson Mnangagwa took time from his busy schedule to host Bulawayo soccer giants Highlanders FC at the State House, promising to assist the club with their mining venture.
Mnangagwa, who arrived in Bulawayo on Tuesday evening ahead of the Gwayi-Shangani pipeline ground-breaking ceremony, as well as the commissioning of the Epping Forest boreholes in Nyamandlovu, met Highlanders leadership led by board chairman Luke Mnkandla, executive chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, the club’s treasurer Donald Ndebele and chief executive officer Nhlanhla Dube.
The Bosso head of secretariat, Dube, said they briefed the President about the progress that they have made in relation to the mining claim that was given to the club to ease its financial woes.
“It was a great pleasure to meet the President who took a break from his busy schedule to meet Highlanders FC. We were there to present to him the progress we’ve made in relation to the mine, he listened to the challenges that we’re facing and promised to assist us in the venture. He took with him our proposal and to me, he showed kindheartedness as he listened to us,” said Dube.
The Government through the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development approved relevant paperwork for Bosso to start operations at their gold mining claim in Inyathi, Bubi District last December and the club has been hunting for potential partners.
The meeting with President gives hope to the club’s intended venture.
Highlanders also presented a Number-9 jersey to the President as well as another framed club replica in appreciation for the mine.
The major mine breakthrough comes at a time when Highlanders celebrates 95 years of existence and becomes a perfect present from the Head of State and Government.
Helping Highlanders is not new for Mnangagwa, as he once assisted the club getting their bus cleared at Zimra.-State media

Late Soul Jah Love’s Family Takes Over
The late musician and dancehall artist Soul Jah Love’s family has barred individuals and producers from releasing songs the late chanter failed to release before his untimely death last week.
Soul Jah love aka Soul Muzavazi Msaka died in Harare last week and was buried at the weekend after government declared him a liberation hero.
He was suffering from diabetes.
According to sources, Soul Jah Love’s phone with more than 100 songs was stolen when he met his demise.
However, his family has engaged lawyers to stop individuals and producers from releasing his songs.
Harare lawyer Conwell Muteve confirmed yesterday that he was working on a framework to have the musician’s siblings to benefit from his music.
“Soul Jah Love’s phone was stolen on the day of his untimely death but was later recovered in Mbare. It is unfortunate that there was a memory card with more than 100 unreleased songs that was stolen. We never recovered it,” he said.
He said they were compiling a list of producers and will soon send them warnings over the release of the musician’s songs.
“We have since released a warning to the public and now we will engage producers to stop
releasing his music. He has two siblings who will be benefiting from the songs,” he said.
Muteve said they have already set a committee consisting family members that will handle his estate until business resumes at the Master of High Court.
“We are waiting for business to resume at Master of High Court so that an executor to the estate is appointed,” he said.
Muteve could not divulge what properties the musician left.
“That is not my business to tell you what he left,” he said.
However, The Anchor has established that he left a BMW X3, two kombis and several stands.
“I have seen people posting an unfinished house saying it belongs to him but that is a lie. Soul Jah Love has stands some legit and some he got from barons,” a family source said.
Last week some relatives exchanged blows over the musician’s clothes and other belongings.
“His phone went missing on Tuesday but was recovered in Mbare on Wednesday. They even took his BMW X3 and went out on Tuesday afternoon.
“During the time of his death the guys had already damaged the car and it was parked by the roadside for more than four hours,” the source added.
Local promoter Patson Chimbodza had to rescue the family by taking the car so that it could be fixed for free.
One of his producers, Shepherd Musananguro popularly known as Fire King, told reporters that he had worked on a number of songs with Soul Jah Love and these would be released even after his death.
His manager at the time of death, Tendai Marara, also revealed that three tracks he recorded will have a posthumous release this April.
A track – Ndichafa Rinhiko – was recently released even before the musician had been buried.

Relatives Demand US$2k For Them To Remove Murdered Boy’s Blood
By A Correspondent- Relatives of the late Strive Madamombe (11) who was recently murdered by his stepfather Owen Nyamukachi have reportedly demanded US$2 000 from the murderer for them to remove their son’s blood that has congealed in the house.
According to the African custom, the blood of a murdered person can only be cleaned by a blood relative.
According to a statement by police, Nyamukachi, of Zengeza 2 suburb of Chitungwiza, crushed his stepson’s head with a hammer on 7 February following a misunderstanding over the purchase of airtime recharge cards.
He gave Strive US$1.00 to buy airtime worth ZWL$20.00 but instead, the boy bought airtime worth $50.
The boy’s mother, Abigail Chindomu told H-Metro that she has relocated to her brother’s house in the same neighbourhood leaving one tenant at the house.
She said:
The house was locked and I am staying at my brother’s house since the Madamombe family is yet to settle their issues with the Nyamukachi family on the cleansing of the house.
Memorial service for my son will only be conducted upon the finalisation of the two families’ issues on removing of the blood from the house.
The spokesperson for the Nyamukachi family, Tiny Nyamukachi (44) said the boy’s avenging spirit has already started to torment the family and they are now scrounging for the money.
He said:
As Nyamukachi family, the blood of the boy murdered by our relative has already started to haunt us and we are now breathing fire due to the demands of the late boy’s parents.
We are meeting every day to collect money demanded by the Madamombe family so as to remove blood clots in the house.
The community which used to rely on the clean water from the house has been robbed as well since the house was locked from the day of the incident.
FULL TEXT- Hwende Responds To Timveous’ Allegations
By A Correspondent- MDC Aliance Secretary-General, Chalton Hwende has responded to several claims by some of the party’s members who recently defected to the ruling ZANU PF.
Among other things, he’s been accused of trying to influence Nelson Chamisa to expel Job Sikhala from the party. Hwende speaks after Lilian Timveos and Blessing Chebundo had defected to the ruling party.
He said:

ED Hints On Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination
By A Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa Thursday hinted that individuals who are refusing to take the coronavirus vaccine won’t get jobs and essential services.
He made the remarks while addressing hundreds of Zanu PF supporters who gathered the commissioning of the Epping Forest Water Supply Augmentation Project for Bulawayo and the ground-breaking ceremony of the Gwayi-Shangani-Bulawayo pipeline project in Nyamandlovu, Umguza District, Matabeleland North.
President Mnangagwa’s remarks are a clear departure from the government’s policy that vaccination is voluntary as there is a possibility that citizens won’t get jobs if they refuse to take the vaccine.
While speaking in Shona, the president reiterated that vaccination was voluntary but added those who refused to take the vaccine won’t get jobs.
He said:
You are not forced to be vaccinated but time shall come when those who are not vaccinated won’t get jobs and won’t be able to board ZUPCO buses. So, decide what you do.
I-vaccine leyi irayithi, inhle liyithathe (this vaccine is safe, please take it up). The vice president of the party and the country had the first jab, he is still here.
My cabinet and myself in two weeks will be next when the next batch comes, I will be vaccinated. Wena ungubani (who are you not to get vaccinated)?
The president spoke after his deputy Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga who is also the minister of Health and Child Care volunteered to be the first person to be vaccinated with the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine.
Zimbabwe would be following in the footsteps of the Vatican City which earlier told employees that they may risk losing their jobs if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccination without legitimate health reasons.
President Mnangagwa earlier said the country can only return to normality after the majority of the population would have been vaccinated to ensure herd immunity.

Free Mako Protest In Harare

Govt Suspends WHO, UNICEF From Covid-19 Programmes
By A Correspondent- Government has suspended the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) from participating in Covid-19 programmes, in an unprecedented move that may have farreaching consequences in fighting the pandemic.

Zanu PF Bans Use Of Party Name, Logos On Social Media
By A Correspondent- Zanu PF Mashonaland East province has ordered party members who are neither district nor provincial co-ordinators to stop forming WhatsApp groups using the party name and logos.
The move is meant to curb the spread of false messages about both the party and leaders, with members accused of settling personal scores on social media platforms.
According to a letter dated February 23 and signed by provincial secretary for administration Kudzai Majuru, party members have been urged to stop using President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s picture on their WhatsApp groups.
“The provincial leadership has noted with concern the mushrooming of social media groups bearing the party name, logo and the President’s picture being abused for various reasons, including settling personal scores,” Majuru said.
“Group administrators using the party name, logo and President’s picture are by way of this letter advised to rename their groups and shun using the party name.”
Zanu-PF party members in most districts of the province have been exchanging harsh words on social media groups, especially after the shambolic district co-ordinating committee (DCC) elections that left the party divided.
Majuru added: “However, those with genuine reasons to use party name should seek clearance from the provincial headquarters and get guidelines on what should be avoided when using party name. “Please also note that party coordinators will form party district social groups and party officers at province will do so at provincial level and above.”
Majuru yesterday confirmed the authenticity of the letter and said the move was meant to bring sanity to the province as well as stopping people from fighting for personal gains using the party name.

“Do Not Use Covid-19 Excuse”: Veritas
By A Correspondent- Government should not use COVID-19 as an excuse to deploy soldiers to enforce lockdown regulations, legal think-tank Veritas has said.
The think-tank said use of soldiers on policing duties was against recommendations made by the Kgalema Motlanthe Commission of Inquiry into the August 1, 2018 shooting, which said the military should only be used as a last resort.
The Motlanthe Commission was set up by President Emmerson Mnangagwa after the military shot and killed six protestors and injured 35 on August 1, 2018 when MDC Alliance supporters took to the streets demanding the release of presidential results.
One of the recommendations by the commission was that law enforcement should be left to the police and the deployment of the military to assist the police should only be allowed under extraordinary situations.
“Soldiers man roadblocks together with the police to enforce lockdown restrictions on movement,” Veritas observed in its latest report.
“Soldiers are also deployed to patrol high-density areas and clear city centres. Their involvement in enforcing the lockdown has been institutionalised in regulations under the Public Health Act, which includes members of the (Zimbabwe) Defence Forces in the definition of ‘enforcement officer’.”
Veritas said armed soldiers recently arrested 12 opposition party officials in Chinhoyi on charges that they gathered at party offices in contravention of lockdown regulations, a duty which should have been done by the police.
“The delay (implementing the recommendations) can’t be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic because the legal reforms that are needed to democratise Zimbabwe and to implement the commission’s recommendations can be developed, drafted and passed by Parliament even if the country is in lockdown,” the think-tank said.
“The pandemic has, however, been used as a pretext for ignoring the commission’s recommendations that soldiers should be called on to assist the police only as a last resort. As we have noted, soldiers have been manning roadblocks and helping to clear city centres during lockdowns.”
Soldiers have been accused of brutalising members of the public in the suburbs where they have been deployed alongside the police to enforce COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
Gara Kumba Kana Zvanetsa : Hon Sikhala On Chebundo, Timveos Defection
Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance vice chairperson Hon Job Sikhala has said even if someone points a gun on his forehead he will not join Zanu PF.
Hon Sikhala described the defection of Senator Lilian Timveos and Hon Blessing Chebundo to Zanu PF as the last coma of desperation.

Urgent Amendment Of The Constitution Required…
23rd February 2021
PRESS STATEMENT
URGENT AMENDMENT OF THE ZIMBABWEAN CONSTITUTION BY PARLIAMENT REQUIRED, NOT TO ALLOW BAIL FOR THE BIG NINE (LEVEL FOURTEEN) CRIMINAL OFFENCES IN ZIMBABWE!!!!
(Zimbabwe now one of the Most Dangerous Society to live due to threat from Armed Robbers!!!!)
The President of Zimbabwe Centre For Equal Opportunities (ZCEO) a registered Zimbabwean Civic Society Organisation, Mr Paddington Japa Japa has urged Parliament to Cause Amendment of the Zimbabwean Constitution,s Bill of Rights Section which makes Bail a Right for every crime committed in Zimbabwean Society. The Bill of rights Section under the 2013 Zimbabwean Constitution makes Bail a Constitutional Right for every Criminal Offence Committed in Zimbabwe, no matter how evil the crime might be.The Big Nine Criminal Offences in Zimbabwe are as follows; Armed Robbery,Car Jacking,Murder,Rape,Poaching, Cattle Rustling,Human trafficking, kidnapping and Murder, kidnapping and Rape.Of the Big Nine level 14 Offences all of them are now allowed Bail at the High Court, even if Human life is lost during Commission of these heinous crimes.Such a Constitutional Provision that every accused Person is innocent before being Proven Guilty even were evidence of Commission of the crime is overwhelming, has given dangerous Criminals a life line and advantage over their Victims, who are not benefiting in any way out of such a Constitutional legal Provision. The law must be there to Protect the Victim and to some extend the Accused persons, but when the law becomes a Banner or Protector of Criminals then it has to be urgently amended, reapeled,or revoked. The COPAC Commission of Equiry made some serious blunders, false findings and wrong recommendations which did not come from the People of Zimbabwe, but a legal Opinion which came from the Drafters of the Constitution themselves. No Zimbabwean in His or Her sane mind could have recommended Bail as a right for a Murderer,Rapist,Armed Robber,Cattle Rustler, kidnapper,Car Jacker,Poacher,Human trafficker, these are the Serious Criminal Offences that can be Committed by thugs in any Society and i dont still remember any Zimbabwean saying they want leniency on offenders who Commit such crimes in Society. Many Zimbabweans who attended COPAC Meetings actually called for stiffer Penalties like death Sentences for such offences, were did COPAC Legal team of drafters of the 2013 Zimbabwean Constitution got the Bail Provision from???.
The Bill of Rights Section in the 2013 Zimbabwean Constitution which made Bail a Constitutional Right was actually smuggled into that Constitution by the Drafters themselves, that was a Constitutional making Process Fraud.Mwonzora Douglas and Paul Mangwana the two lawyers who lead the COPAC Constitutional making Process owes the Nation an explanation.
Because of the Constitutional making Process Fraud which you allowed,Mwonzora and Mangwana look at the havoc which Criminals are causing in Society today. The ZRP CID Homicide Section are being made to Work Overtime in hunting down Dangerous Armed Robbers, who are committing serious, several armed robbery and carjacking cases around the Country whilst still on bail for the same Offences.According to Police Statistics a dangerous armed robber called Blessing Bheura (29) yrs old who was released on Tuesday last week on Bail for two robbery cases in Mrehwa and Waterfalls, has been arrested again by Police for the failed attempted robbery on a Harare Businessman last Friday evening in the City Centre. The Police Sources say this is not the first time that Criminals on Bail have Committed repeated offences, before being rearrested. Some few days ago 12 armed robbers including ex-and serving Policemen who were released on bail at the High Court last year, are on Police,s most wanted list for committing a spate of robberies around Zimbabwe, and skipping bail,a man hunt for the 12 dangerous Robbers has been launched, most of these robbers are believed to have crossed the boarders into neighbouring Countries eg RSA,Botswana,Mozambique,Zambia or Malawi.Police Sources say most of these robbers were once arrested but vanish after being granted bail by the High Court, resulting in warrants of arrests being issued against them for violating bail conditions or not turning up for remand hearing routines. The list of Dangerous armed robbers who have been in and out of jail on bail and have disappeared are,Alouis Nyamadzawo,Decide Rice,Godfrey Josi,Elijah Temai Vumbunu,Leonard Huni,Fanuel Chikadaya,Peter Mushipe,Conwell Kasambarare,Musafare Mupamhanga,Spicer Takawira, and two ex Police Officers Watson Mugodhi and Ayanda Gumbo.
According to Police Sources last year a Robbery gang comprising of the same Mugodhi and Gumbo a Soldier and Cellphone dealer were arrested after being charged as being members of of the robbery gangs operating in Chitungwiza and kuwadzana, using guns Machetes and Axes.During its Criminal Operations the gang stole Z$29 350,US$6 310,and R12 000 from their Victims.
Recently Musafare,Mupamhanga,Conwell Kasambarare and Spicer Takawira are believed to be part of the gang that robbed Maswede Holdings in Glenview and got away with over USD$100 000.00,R42 000.00Z$14 000.00 worth of fuel Coupons, two firearms, and 20 live rounds of ammunition, all the robbers were recently released on Bail at the High Court.
The three Musafare,Conwell and Spicer operate with Zimbabwe,s most Dangerous robbery Gang leader Musa Taj Abdul were released by High Court after State consented to bail on the basis that some of their co-accussed are also out on bail.
Kasambarare,Mupamhanga and Takawira applied for bail which was granted between May 26 and August 19 2020.
Even the head of Special Anti Corruption Unit (SACU) Mr Thabani Mpofu recently said the Unit was concerned about the random release on bail of Dangerous Criminals who are causing havoc in Society everyday, even before their initial trial and sometimes after conviction and jail sentences while their cases go on appeal.
Why are these Criminals being given Special treatment whilst Opposition MDCA Political activists are incarcerated for more than 40 days in Prison at Chikurubi Maximum D Section for no crimes Committed at all,or for just making a Political statement,a right which is Provided for in the Constitution under the Bill of rights. There is strong suspicion that State Prosecutors are coniving with Criminals and getting some of the Proceeds from the loot.
I Paddington Japa Japa as a Civic Society leader i am calling for Our MPS who are in Parliament to start a Motion which shall cause the Amendment of this fraudulently, poorly crafted 2013 Zimbabwean Constitution.Especially the Bill of Rights Section which makes Bail a Right for Criminals who are committing Heinous Crimes in Society.Douglas Mwonzora and Paul Mangwana here is your Baby can you help sort out this Mess.
THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE PADDINGTON JAPA JAPA, IS THE PRESIDENT OF A REGISTERED CIVIC SOCIETY ORGANISATION CALLED ZIMBABWE CENTRE FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES,(ZCEO),AN EVANGELIST WITH A LOCAL PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, A TEACHER OF GOD,S WORD,A QUALIFIED SOCCER ADMINSTRATOR,A POLITICIAN AND HOLDER OF BSC HONOURS PSYCHOLOGY DEGREE!!!!????????

Form One Girl Squeezes Rapist’s B*lls
IN a rare show of bravery, a quick-thinking 14-year-old girl from Bhekani Line in Ntabazinduna, Matabeleland North province, turned into Wonder Woman when she warded off her 49-year-old grandfather, who allegedly attempted to rape her, by violently grabbing his testicles and squeezing them hard.
He was not asked to plead to a charge of attempted rape and was remanded in custody to 23 April 2021.-B-Metro

Chaos As Family Buries Wrong Body …
A FAMILY from Lobengula West suburb was left speechless after they were given a wrong body by a funeral parlour and had to travel all the way to Plumtree to exhume the body of their loved one for reburial in Bulawayo.
It is important to do body viewing, at least one relative who knows the deceased.- B-Metro

Mnangagwa Receives Replica Jersey From Highlanders FC
PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa took time from his busy schedule to host Bulawayo soccer giants Highlanders FC at the State House, promising to assist the club with their mining venture.

Jailed Land Baron Slaughters 2 Beasts for Prison Officers, Allowed To Travel To Zvimba.
Mnangagwa On Vaccination: Not Now But Next Time I Will Get It | IS HE TELLING THE TRUTH?
Emmerson Mnangagwa and members of the Cabinet are still to be vaccinated, officially.
Mnangagwa On Vaccination: Not Now Bit Next Time I Will Get It | IS HE TELLING THE TRUTH?
— ZimEye (@ZimEye) February 26, 2021
Mnangagwa will take the lead and get vaccinated when the second batch of vaccines are delivered in the country in the next two weeks, the state owned Herald reports.
Zimbabwe last week received 200 000 vaccines from China which has also availed 1,8 million doses of vaccines for purchase.
When the first batch of 200 000 doses of vaccines donated by China arrived in the country recently, Mnangagwa, assigned his deputy Dr Constantino Chiwenga, who is also the Minister of Heath and Child Care, to lead the vaccination programme by taking the first jab.
Speaking at the commissioning of Epping Forest Water Supply Augmentation Project for Bulawayo and ground-breaking ceremony of the Gwayi-Shangani-Bulawayo pipeline project in Nyamandlovu, Umguza District, Matabeleland North yesterday, Mnangagwa encouraged Zimbabweans to take up the vaccination.
“Last week saw the roll-out of the first phase of our National Covid-19 vaccination programme which targets frontline workers, the security sector, the elderly and those with underlying conditions,” said President Mnangagwa before requesting VP Chiwenga, who was in attendance, to join him on the podium.
“Social media was saying the leadership will not be vaccinated, on that particular day, we had various engagements, so I called my Minister and Vice President to get the first jab so that you know that the vaccine is safe. Ivaccine leyi iright, liyithathe.
“The Vice President of the country had the first jab and he is still here. My Cabinet and myself in two weeks when the next consignment comes, we will be vaccinated,” said the President.
He assured the nation that more vaccines are coming and people will have the chance to be vaccinated.
Mnangagwa said on Wednesday afternoon, he got communication from Chinese President Xi Jinping through his ambassador to Zimbabwe that the country was donating an additional 200 000 Covid-19 vaccines to Zimbabwe, bringing the total donation to 400 000 doses.
“The Ministry of Health supported by (Finance Minister Professor Mthuli) Ncube also bought two sets yesterday, 600 000 doses which will come during the first two weeks of March and another 1,2 million doses,” said Mnangagwa as he reiterated that the vaccines are free.
“There are so many companies that have come forward who want to import the vaccines and sell them, we have said no. If any company buys vaccines, they must be distributed freely.” Mnangagwa expressed gratitude to China for the donation of vaccines saying procurement plans of other vaccines from India and Russia were at an advanced stage.
“Meanwhile, let us mask up Zimbabwe and continue to adhere to the laid down health protocols,” said the President.
He called on Zimbabweans to remain vigilant in the fight against Covid-19 saying he was pleased that the country’s prevention measures were showing good results. -Herald

God Has Told Me To Give ED A Message
Musician-cum preacher and politician Hosiah Chipanga has revived efforts to meet and have a conversation with President Emmerson Mnangagwa, saying that he has to deliver a message from God which will save the country from turmoil.

Chipanga told TellZim News in an interview that the country has derailed from God’s path and was now isolated in a wilderness marked with endless suffering.
He said the country lost its direction beginning from the days of former president Robert Mugabe to the ‘new dispensation’ which has done nothing to remedy the ‘curse’ that has befallen the country.
“For the past 40 years I have tried all means known to me to meet the President of my country both the late and the current one to no avail.
“It is true that those with access to tell the President of whoever would want to see him are, for some reason, or due to the evil spirit of the devil that wants to see suffer, not conveying the request.
“In brief, I would tell President Mnangagwa of God’s spiritual advice on how Zimbabwe can change itself and the world at large for the better,” said Chipanga.
The Kwachu-kwachu hit maker said he knew exactly what is needed to be done to get the country back on track on which the economy will flourish.
“Imagine we are millions of people in Zimbabwe but we each have a different talent altogether though some may appear similar. Each country has its resources though on the same planet.
“My point is we as a people did not give these resources to our country but the country gives them to us and we benefit.
“So by nature the creator has given different things to different nations. So, if a nation has been chosen to follow a certain path and through disobedience decides to deviate, there is no way they reach their intended destination but just lost forever.
“The country won’t come out of the wrong track because it has new people. I know exactly what needs to be done to remedy all these ills begotten our country,” said Chipanga.
He said there is nothing other than pride and selfishness that is stopping President Mnangagwa and opposition MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa from having a dialogue for the betterment of Zimbabwean lives.
“From God’s point of view, whoever for whatever reason refuses to associate with others for the betterment of the people’s lives would upset the creator of mankind.
“If men like baba Nkomo (Joshua) and Robert Mugabe would join hands, who are we not to be united,” said Chipanga. TellZim News
Hon Sikhala Speaks On Senator Lilian Timveos, Hon Chebundo Defection
Tinashe Sambiri|MDC Alliance vice chairperson Hon Job Sikhala has said even if someone points a gun on his forehead he will not join Zanu PF.
Hon Sikhala described the defection of Senator Lilian Timveos and Hon Blessing Chebundo to Zanu PF as the last coma of desperation.
“Even if the gun is pointed on your head, joining the occult of ZANU PF in its various form is devilish, last coma of desperation and the great betrayal.
With millions having suffered at the hands of the evil ZANU PF regime, no matter the amount of disappointment, gara kumba,” said Hon Sikhala.

MDC Alliance Unmoved By Defection Of Stomach Politicians
Tinashe Sambiri|Each generation has its own sellouts and opportunists, the MDC Alliance has said.
According to MDC Alliance deputy National Secretary for Communication, Felix Magalela Mafa Sibanda, every revolution requires patience and endurance.
See statement below:
My Political Science Education tells me that, each generation has its prophets, sellouts, liberators, shepherds, oppressors, men and women of good will.
Revolution is a process or a marathon race which needs people who persevere, patient, caculative and resilient to the last drop of their sweat and blood.
Equslings, opportunistic pathogens/ individuals are always among/with us. Inventendly ,we welcome the decisions taken by our former stalwarts,ie, Sen Lilian Timveos and Hon Blessing Chebundo.
Lilian was a member of the National Executive and the Standing Committee and as such her voice was heard.
Power driven politicians behave exactly like that.
We wish them well in their newly discovered home, Zanu PF.

Obey Sithole Tears Into Senator Lilian Timveos

Limit Added Sugars To Stay Healthy
Don’t be fooled just because you stay away from obviously sweet foods like cake, cookies, doughnuts, and candy.
Added sugars hide in a number of foods you may not expect, like processed frozen foods, baby food, dried fruit, cereal, granola, instant oatmeal, salad dressings, ketchup, barbecue sauces, pasta sauces, flavored yogurt, protein bars, and more. They’re also found in organic foods and plenty of foods you’ll find at your local health food store.
The good news is that tallying up “added sugars” on packaged foods just got easier. The Nutrition Facts Label now includes “added sugars” underneath where it says “total sugars.”
How Sugar Appears on Ingredients Lists
Sugar goes by a lot of different names — more than 60, if we’re talking about what’s listed on nutrition labels. Here are a few of them.
Brown sugar
Corn sweetener
Corn syrup
Rice syrup
Dextrose
Maltose
Barley malt
Fructose sweetener
Fruit juice concentrates
Glucose
High-fructose corn syrup
Honey
Invert sugar
Lactose
Maltose
Malt syrup
Maple syrup
Molasses
Pancake syrup
Raw sugar
Sucrose
Trehalose
Turbinado sugar
To identify an added sugar, look for words that end with “-ose,” as well as phrases that contain “syrup” or “malt.”
Remember: Ingredients on a packaged food are listed in descending order in terms of weight, so when you see these names at the top of the ingredients list, the product contains a lot of sugar.
RELATED: 6 Expert Tips for Reducing Added Sugar in Your Diet
Can You Overdo It on Naturally Occurring Sugars?
Some celebrities and others credit weight-loss successes to eliminating all sugars (even the natural ones). But the sugars found in fruit and dairy are part of a healthy diet and shouldn’t be on the “naughty” foods list.
“Like any component of a diet, you can overdo it on sugar, even if it’s naturally occurring,” says Voltolina. But most people can stay in the healthy range when it comes to natural sugars if they focus on choosing whole foods over processed ones — try a few slices of fresh fruit on a peanut butter sandwich instead of a jelly or jam, which likely has extra added sugar — and focus on eating a well-balanced diet.
The USDA recommends 2 cups of fruit and at least 2.5 cups of vegetables daily for adults. And adults should get two to three servings of dairy per day — 1 cup of nonfat or low-fat milk, 1 cup of nonfat or low-fat yogurt, or 1.5 ounces of natural cheese all count as one serving. That said, dairy isn’t necessarily a required element for a healthy diet and could be one area where people reduce their intake to further reduce sugar. If you’re someone who drinks soy milk or nut milk, make sure you’re choosing unsweetened versions to keep the added sugars low. At the same time, keep in mind that dairy can be an important source of calcium — a mineral responsible for keeping your skeleton strong — in the American diet, as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) notes. If you’re avoiding dairy, opt for plant-based calcium sources, such as chia seeds, kale, and tofu. You can also get your fix via fortified foods such as orange juice and cereal, according to the NIH.

A PRESS STATEMENT TO THE NATION
BY THE HONOURABLE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE KEMBO C.D. MOHADI
Greetings to you the citizens of this Great Nation.
I begin by extending my great appreciation to the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde ED Mnangagwa for entrusting me with the huge responsibility to deputise him under the new dispensation.
Fellow Zimbabweans, following the recent social media hype about my alleged illicit relationship with two married women, I have decided to come open and respond to the allegations being peddled by my detractors.
Despite growing impatient because of days of weird character assassination, I wish to categorically state that the allegations being levelled against me are not only false, but well-choreographed to demean, condescend, and soil my image as a national leader and patriot.
I am aware that my right to privacy has been trashed in terms of Section 57 (d) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No 20) Act 2013, which reads as follows, “every person has the right to privacy, which includes the right not to have the privacy of their communications infringed…”.
Despite the noisy in digital media ecologies, I wish to clearly state that I am innocent and a victim of political machinations being peddled through hacking and voice cloning.
Fellow Zimbabweans, despite the density of the allegations being levelled against me, I salute the support from fellow citizens, colleagues and comrades who fully grasped the rigid complexities of concocted enemy attacks.
It is against this backdrop that I am categorically distancing myself from the imagined immoral unions.
The camaraderie and support given to me during this trying hour are greatly appreciated.
That these faceless netizens have blended well-networked digital architecture to reengineer the spaces for political demonization, will not dampen my spirit as a tried and tested cadre.
I remain a committed leader, father, cadre and servant of this Great Nation.
I thank you

Man Destroys Uncle’s Range Rover
When an uncle and nephew fight, it is the vehicle that suffers.
This seemed to be the case when a Victoria Falls man who was angry that his uncle had rebuked him for driving his Range Rover Discovery without his consent armed himself with bricks and shattered the vehicle’s windscreen.
Ropafadzo Muposiwa of 4812 Chinotimba was hauled before Victoria Falls magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa for malicious damage to property recently after damaging three windscreens including the front, with a combined value of $28 350.
Muposiwa was lucky to escape jail life after his uncle Donald Karati of Mkhosana probably considered that blood is thicker than water and wrote an affidavit withdrawing the charges because the accused had fixed the damage by repairing the car.
The court withdrew charges before plea.
Said Karati when he initially made a report: “We had a misunderstanding during the day after he drove my car without my permission. I took the car for fixing and later I got a call from Elvis Nyathi telling me that it had been damaged by the accused. When I went to check I found that my car’s windscreen had been damaged.”
Prosecutors said Muposiwa committed the crime in full view of a neighbour Elvis Nyathi.-statemedia
Lilian Timveous: I’ve Left Boardroom Bullies To Join Bedroom Bullies Mohadi And Others.

“Which Zanu Pf Are You Joining?”: Mliswa Asks Timveous, Chebundo
Outspoken Norton Legislator, Temba Mliswa, has said ZANU PF is no longer the same as the one he once knew and those crossing floors to join it should answer which ZANU PF they are joining.
“I note politicians crossing floors and joining @ZANUPF Official but the question is, which ZANU-PF are they joining? I continue to maintain it’s no longer the ZANU-PF we all once knew,” Mliswa said via Twitter.
Mliswa said this after senior MDC-Alliance officials and former legislators, Lillian Timveos and Blessing Chebundo have defected to the ruling Zanu PF party citing lack of direction and violent tendencies by Nelson Chamisa’s political outfit.
The two were yesterday welcomed by Zanu PF First Secretary and President Cde Mnangagwa at State House where they held an hour long meeting with the Head of State
“Shut Up Kembo”: MDC Alliance Youths
By A Correspondent- MDC Alliance youth leader Tererai Obey Sithole has blasted Vice President Kembo Mohadi after his press statement on his alleged illicit multiple sexual relationships with married women.
Sithole took it to Micro blogging Twitter saying Mohadi has no moral ground after he alleged hacking of his privacy and voice cloning.
“Kembo Mohadi has moral ground to speak about right to privacy given that he sits in the presidium of brutal regime that had utter disregard of the same right. Mamy activists have appeared in court countless times with their calls &texts being used as evidence #ShutUpKembo,” Sithole said.
Mohadi said nothing is going to change and his future is determined by president Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“I remain a committed leader, father, cadre and servant of this great nation. So, nothing is going to change because all this is concocted to tarnish my image. If anything is going to happen it is going to be His Excellency who will determine my future.”

Seven (7) Arrested For Killing A Thief
By A Correspondent- Police in Bulawayo’s Pumula South suburb have arrested for heavily assaulting a suspected thief they caught at a house in the suburb leading to his death while in police custody.
According to the state media, the brutalised suspect (Matchazadek Ndlovu) died in a cell at Pumula Police Station on the night leading to the arrest of the seven.
Donald Sibanda (24), Michael Junior Moyo (23), Mgcinumuzi Moyo (20), Emanuel Nyoni (34), Philani Ndlovu (23), Ndumiso Khumalo (23) and Stanley Siziba (21) are the seven who have been arrested in connection with the assault.
They appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Jeconiah Ncube yesterday facing murder charges and were advised to apply for bail at the High court which they did.
They were remanded out of custody to April 23.
Appearing for the state Mr Tapiwa Solani said the accused persons saw the now deceased trying to gain entry at a house in the suburb and apprehended him.
They went to Emthunzini where they apprehended Hloniphani Tshuma claiming he was an accomplice to the now deceased. The accused persons allegedly assaulted Tshuma and Ndlovu whom they later surrendered to police in Pumula.
Chairperson of Pumula south residence Mrs Auxilia Nyamujara who spoke to the chronicle news crew regretted the incident saying it was not what the community wanted when a street patrol team was set up to counter a series of break-ins that had traumatised their suburb.
“What happened is regrettable. We as a community, and in my capacity as the residents’ chairperson, do not condone violence of any nature. What happened was just unfortunate. We are just trying to protect our neighbourhood from thieves who are wreaking havoc in the community” said Mrs Nyamujara.
Another resident Mr Kevin Filton Moyo who is also a member of the Police Constabulary Committee said he is saddened by the incident as the idea of the street monitoring team was to see to it that the suburb is safe from thieves.
“We are having a serious challenge with thieves here and it is due to this background that we ended up establishing the street monitoring team which would see to it that there are security checks. Our children from the suburb make up this team. What happened is not to be celebrated and to us, it is a great mistake. It should not happen to any human being no matter what crime one commits, life is sacred and should be preserved at all times,” he said.
In solidarity with their children, residents donated US$2 per household to pay bail for the accused persons.

Health Alert: Added Sugars Hide In Foods You May Not Expect

Thabani Kamusoko Returns To Warriors Squad
With doubts over the availability of Marvelous Nakamba for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers, Warriors coach Zdravko Logarušić is set to name Thabani ‘Scara’ Kamusoko in the provisional squad.
The Croat’s sqaud announcement has been delayed owing to uncertainty over the availability of UK-based players following new laws introduced by the British government in a bid to curb Covid-19.
Nakamba’s likely unavailability has prompted the return of Zesco United’s Kamusoko.
The dreadlocked former FC Platinum midfielder was last in the Warriors fold when they beat Zambia 2-1 in 2019 but we have been told by sources close to the technical team, that he will be named in the squad.- Soccer 24 Zimbabwe

Betrayal Of The People’s Struggle By Senator Timveos, Hon Chebundo Unbelievable
Tinashe Sambiri|The MDC Alliance Namibia has described the defection of Senator Lilian Timveos and Hon Blessing Chebundo to Zanu PF as unbelievable.
The MDC Alliance Namibia has however, pointed out that the defection of the two to Zanu PF will not deter the people’s struggle.
See statement below:
JOINING THE OCCULT OF ZANU PF IS NOT ONLY SADIST BUT IT ALSO EPITOMISES THE LAST COMA OF POLITICAL INEPTITUDE AND GREEDY, MDC ALLIANCE NAMIBIA POSITS.
25 FEBRUARY 2021
The unceremonious departure by the greedy and belly politicians in the names of Ms Lilian Timveous and Mr Chebundo from Mdc Alliance and MdcT to Zanupf resembles political fatigue and insatiable appetite to join the thieving racket.
Mdc Alliance Namibia is neither transfixed, mesmerized nor hypnotized after realising the senseless defection of the two erstwhile comrades who displayed their exhaustion to continue fighting for democratic change in Zimbabwe. After 21 years of serious confrontation with Zanupf, the two decided to join killers, looters and stomach politicians with the evil intention to enrich themselves. As a district, we want to warn all our leaders to desist from belly politics of plunder and self-aggrandisement.
Inasmuch as we respect the right to support or choose the party that one wants, we absolutely condemn this level of selling out. The decision to join Zanupf by these desperate morons emanated from their failure to accept defeat after losing elections in the political behemoth. When Lilian Timveous lost to Vp Karenyi Kore at our Congress in Gweru, she tried to soldier on until she was recalled by the judicially-constructed MdcT led by Zanupf surrogates and now she intends to recover her lost belongings by joining Zanupf. Chebundo also picked a political fracture when he faced a defeat during the party primary elections in Kwekwe. Their defection is a testimony of the zeal to maintain political positions in the party. Mdc Alliance Namibia Rundu Branch Secretary General Simbarashe Ndoda expressed his total disgruntlement in the nature of politics that is being shown by our leaders. Ndoda castigated the two power-hungry politicians together with those who are yet to defect, he warned our leaders against the temptation to sacrifice people’s tears, sweat and blood for personal gain.
He further noted that Timveous and Chebundo must be cognisant of the fact that genuine revolutionaries are not going to be shaken since they will be replaced with new blood possessing the revolutionary energy to constitutionally remove Zanupf Satanists who have taken too much for the owner to ignore. The Freedom Train shall not be defocused by those who subscribe to the politics of cars and ill-gotten wealth. Mdc Alliance Namibia urges all social democrats to remain resolute in fighting against bad governance, looting and corruption not forgetting the dire need to demand a People’s Government. We are sick and exhausted of people who masquerade as socio-economic liberators when in actual fact they aim to grab fame and wealth for personal gain. There is need to transform our politics of material possessions and commence to put our people first.
Moreover, our district resonates with Job SaroWiwa Sikhala, the Vice Chairperson’s supposition that” even if the gun is pointed on your head, joining the occult of Zanupf Satanism in its various forms is devilish, last coma of desperation and great betrayal”.
Mdc Alliance Namibia Spokesperson Robson Ruhanya echoed the same sentiments that this defection unravelled that it’s no longer a fight for democracy, but personal enrichment. It is quite pathetic to witness such betrayal with millions having suffered in the hands of the thugocratic Zanupf rogue regime. It is now clear that most of Zimbabweans in and outside the national democratic revolution are no longer fighting to change the system, but to be included in corruption and daylight looting with impunity from their Zanupf enablers.
To wind it up, Mdc Alliance Namibia shall resolutely continue to castigate and lambasts Zanupf sons and daughters who have joined the wrong political outfit. Those who pursue politics of the stomach do not have a place in the national democratic project. We urge all our leaders, supporters and symphathisers to emulate the People’s President Advocate Nelson Chamisa Wamba Dia Wamba who refused Zanupf riches when they wanted him to take the position of the Opposition Leader in parliament.
The freedom of the general citizenry cannot be sacrificed for cars , allowances and diplomatic passports. As Mdc Alliance, we shall win Zimbabwe for complete change. WeDemandAPeople’sGovt.

Teenager Raped After Prophetic Message
By A Correspondent- A 19 year old Harare woman was raped several times by a 33-year-old man between January and February this year after believing a purported prophetic message from a self-proclaimed prophet.
Through their Twitter account, the police said the prophet told the woman that he had seen a vision of his would-be husband, but the man later turned out to be a rapist.
The woman then informed the “prophet” that she had been raped by the “future husband” but the self-proclaimed seer concealed the crime.
Police said:
The ZRP encourages members of the public to report all cases of sexual abuse promptly and avoid trusting strange prophetic utterances from pastors and prophets.
A Harare woman (19) was raped on several occasions between January and February 2021 by a suspect (33) after receiving a prophetic message from an alleged prophet who indicated to her that the man will be her future husband.
The spiritualist concealed the offence when it was reported to him by the victim. #notorape

Drama As Suspected Serial Thief Falls From The Ceiling

By A Correspondent- A suspected serial thief was on Tuesday morning caught in the act after he fell from the ceiling of a building in Gwanda town centre.
The suspect was apprehended at a place commonly known as Emabhizeni along 4th Avenue.
Emabhizeni is part of partitioned shops that share one roof.
A Chronicle news crew arrived at the crime scene shortly before 9AM, and the suspect was with police in a car as members of the public bayed for his blood.
The daring thief is suspected to have entered one of the shops in the wee hours and broken through the ceiling to access other shops before stealing property.
He was spotted by a worker in the next building who raised alarm.
The thief panicked and fell from the ceiling.
As he tried to flee using the front door, he was apprehended and was lucky police were nearby before the public meted instant justice on him.
“I was just arriving for work when I heard sounds at the back. I made a follow up as it was still quiet with most people not having reported to work yet. I saw the thief trying to jump from the ceiling.
“I managed to climb into the ceiling and chased after him and he fell into a shop next door to us commonly known as China Shop. Security details managed to catch him before he fled from the scene,” said a supermarket employee.
A man of the cloth, Reverend Fred Kamanga of Zimbabwe Christians Empowerment Fellowship, said the thief broke a window at his shop to gain access to other shops.
“The thief broke a top corner window and managed to lift the window handle before he gained access. He ransacked the place and only found a knife in a drawer. He then broke the ceiling before he went to other shops,” said Reverend Kamanga.
A cellphone dealer who spoke on condition of anonymity said they were trying to establish some of the things he might have stolen as a bag full of their belongings was recovered.
“We are still trying to ascertain what else this person might have stolen as we recovered a satchel which had belongings from a number of us in this shop,” said the cell phones dealer.
Matabeleland South provincial police spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena confirmed the arrest.
She could not release his identity as he is assisting police with investigations on other cases he is allegedly linked to around the town.
“I can confirm that we arrested a man in Gwanda who had broken into shops around the CBD,” said Insp Mangena.
A police source said the accused person spent the day assisting police working on other cases he is suspected to be linked with in the mining town.
“As of now, the suspect is still under the CID department as he is linked with other crimes thus, he is not available at the station,” said the source. -statemedia

Imi Amai Tinyareiwo, Obey Sithole Tears Into Senator Lilian Timveos

Over 7k People Vaccinated
By A Correspondent- 2074 frontline workers were yesterday vaccinated bringing the total number of vaccinations to 7872 people ever since the Chinese Vaccine Sinopharm arrived in Zimbabwe last week.
This was revealed by the Ministry of Health in an update that also sated that over 150 people are hospitalized due to the novel coronavirus.
According to the Ministry of Health, 154 people are hospitalized countrywide:
As of 23 February 2021 @1500hrs, there were 154 hospitalised cases, Assymptomatic 72, mild to moderate 46. severe 33 and 3 in Intensive Care Units.
The update also stated that the deaths were recorded in Harare (4), Bulawayo (3) and Mashonaland East(1). Zimbabwe has reportedly set aside $100 000 million to buy at least 10 million vaccines to achieve herd or population immunity.
“Mwonzora Cried Like A Baby”: Timveous
In the open letter that was written by former MDC Alliance Senator, Lilian Timveos, she insinuated that Douglas Mwonzora and Morgen Komichi might have been frustrated out of the MDC Alliance and went on to join Thokozani Khupe in the court resurrected MDC T.
According to Timveos, Komichi was accused of visiting traditional healers trying to revive Morgan Tsvangirai’s spirit at some point and he was hurt by the accusations:
…You(Hwende) know the Standing Committee we had and we insulted Morgen Komichi after you told us kuti Komichi akaenda ku n’anga kunomutsa mweya waTsvangirai ( he visited a traditional healer to revive Tsvangirai’s spirit). Komichi refused to reply saying he need to heal first from the insults and accusations of witchcraft.
Timveos also claimed Mwonzora at one point cried like a baby as he was being undressed for reportedly holding an interview with the Daily News:
…Mwonzora cried like a baby at one of the Standing Committee meeting accused of why he talked to the Daily News and only responded by saying “Nhai vana Mwari inga makahwina ku Congress ko munondishungurudzirei.” (You won at the congress why are you troubling me). I am one of those who made Mwonzora cry after wandifurira kuti (you influenced me to) we must make sure that Mwonzora aenda.
Timveos also made claims that there might be a toxic environment at the MDC Alliance as she claimed some standing committee meetings were made just to undress other people:
Before Morgen Komichi and Douglas Mwonzora left we would hold meetings before every Standing Committee meeting to undress them after Hwende sold us lies. We would get into the meeting for insulting them and no serious business would be discussed except undressing them.
Douglas Mwonzora and Morgen Komichi when they rejoined the MDC T’s first people to recall from parliament included Chalton Hwende who Timveos referred to as an evil person who wants to destroy the party and he fights with everybody.
Village Head Killed By Raging Bulls
By A Correspondent- A village head was reportedly trampled to death by a herd of raging bulls from Moyo Ranch under Zibagwe Rural District.
According to the publication, the bulls are believed to be part of the herd that is aimlessly wandering in the area unattended and attacking villagers wearing bright red clothes.
The news of the village head’s death at the hands of the raging bulls was confirmed by the area’s councilor, Councillor Idirashe Dongo who said:
We lost a village head recently after the bulls gored him and trampled on him and smashing him against trees. It is so sad the way these animals are behaving, they are behaving like buffalos now and everyone is living in fear.
…Three herdsmen were saved by a tree after the cattle pounced on them as they were herding their cattle in the ranch
Everyone is living in fear of the cattle. Children who attend Bvumira Primary School are at risk as some of the cattle were spotted near the school in recent days. And we are afraid that once we open schools, we would have subjected our children to danger.
She further said no one was claiming ownership of the cattle:
I assumed office and found these cattle around still roaming around with no-one to claim ownership. You never know since no one is dipping them, they might have contracted rabis and turned wild. I have since reported the matter to police and they came and witnessed.
Kwekwe District Civil Protection Unit Chairperson, Mr. Fortune Mpungu confirmed the unnamed village head’s death and said:
We attended the scene with police, Zibagwe RDC officials and officers from the veterinary services among others. For sure there was a man who was killed by the cattle. Our vet team however dismissed the issue of rabies

“I Am Not Quitting MDC Alliance”: Welshman Ncube Reacts
By A Correspondent- MDC Vice President Welshman Ncube has dismissed rumours that he is planning to leave the MDC Alliance for an international job elsewhere.
Ncube used the microblogging site Twitter to dismiss the rumours and said they were probably being used to decampaign him.
Said the firebrand politician:
Woke up this morning to the old news (this being recycled decampaign news used in the run up to the Gweru Congress) that I am quitting the MDC Alliance to take up some international job somewhere. Someone somewhere is waging psychological warfare. I am not going anywhere.
When one Twimbos asked about the party deputy’s silence Ncube responded and said party building is often done with closed mouths before he agreed he will take the time to engage with supporters in the future while responding to one Nelson Mrewa.
Meanwhile in former MDC A Senator Lilian Timveos’ open letter to Chalton Hwende, Timveos said Hwende was saying Ncube did not come back to the MDC Alliance wholeheartedly.
“Losers”: Zimbabweans React To Timveous, Chebundo Defections
By A Correspondent- Zimbabweans on Twitter have taken to the microblogging site to register their opinions after it emerged that 2 former MDC Officials Lilian Timveos and Blessing Chebundo have defected to the ruling party Zanu PF. Jonathan Moyo
The hullabaloo over the defection to ZanuPF of MDC turncoats & Mnangagwa’s clansmen: Masvingo’s Tongai Matutu last November; Blessing Chebundo & Lillian Timveos from the Midlands today, belies Emmerson’s nationalist claims. For Mnangagwa, it’s all about his homeboys & homegirls!
Pedzisai Ruhanya
Chebundo lost the primary election for Kwekwe Central to a young lady, Judith Tobaiwa this month. This follows his loss at the MDC Alliance Gweru Congress in 2019. He then defected to MDC-T and now he joins ZANU PF. Pathetic loser

My humble advice to my cdes in MDC-A, instead of attacking & labelling those leaving the party as CIOs to join other parties, sit dwn & reflect where the party is going wrong & correct from there. Something is wrong, pple can’t just leave. Above all, listen to public opinions
Micheck Chipanga
I feel bad that Chebundo has joined ZPF. Waded the mud and toiled the volcanoes with him. After being ignored and belittled he was left with no choice. His move to ZPF is very regrettable. All the same I wish him well in his new home!

Political suicide? You seem to be hallucinating. You will never hear about Lilian and Chebundo again in Zimbabwean politics. Joining Zanu pf is like signing out of politics. Did you ever hear about Tongai Matutu or Brian Meki from the moment they joined Zanu?

ZIMRA Busts Smuggling Syndicate Who Declared 3 Trucks Of Groceries As Fertilizer

Security officials working with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) anti-smuggling unit in Beitbridge have intercepted three commercial trucks which were transporting an assortment of groceries which had been declared as fertilizer.
The actual amount of import duty is yet to be ascertained although it is estimated to be in running into millions of dollars in local currency.
The police officer commanding Beitbridge District, Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo could not be reached for comment.
A source close to the case said two trucks were intercepted at the weekend along the Beitbridge Bulawayo road while another was busted at the border post exit area.
“The three by 30 tonnes South African registered trucks were being driven by Munyaradzi Magodi, Mahlahla Isheunesu and Mashiri Tafadzwa.
The importers were using fake customs documents and one was intercepted at the border while the other two we got them at Makhado some 100km along the Beitbridge Bulawayo road,” said a border official who preferred anonymity.
The three trucks have since been taken to the Zimra Container Depot (Condep) pending further investigations.
The first truck with registration numbers CR02XH GP, trailer JLl71HZ and JL 76LM was carrying 2200 boxes of Maq washing powder, 940 boxes Britelite soap, diapers 25 boxes.
The source said the second truck had been loaded with Maq washing powder 1030 boxes, Britelite (375), Waves pure joy (165), Ecllair pops (305), Stambo (20), Gentle magic (157), Gentle magic (77),Ellis brown (49), Nivea man (45), Hello snacks (400), Candles 100, Satiskin (154), Tomco (48), Lifebuoy (310), and Vaseline (19) boxes respectively.
The third truck with registration numbers FY70NT GP was transporting Maq washing powder 2kg by 1300 boxes, Maq 172 boxes by 1 kg, dragon 1800 boxes, britelite soap 400 boxes, candles 23 boxes, stambo 78 boxes, ingrams campor crean 190 boxes, cremora 20 boxes, jiggies 250 packets and baked beans 928 boxes,” sais the source.
The smuggling of goods being falsely declared as goods which attract less or no import duty is common at Beitbridge Border Post.
