There was drama at Saturday Retreat when Harare South member of parliament, Shadreck Mashayamombe was humiliated by over a thousand furious residents.
 
There was commotion when some went on a rampage beating drums, shouting and screaming during his address. Some of the residents kept shouting “mbavha mbavha” as he spoke.
Mashayamombe had come to update the residents about CFI Holdings’ takeover of the one thousand and fifty-seven(57) hectare residential aerea which is already occupied. The M.O.U which was signed by the ministry of Local Government principal director Joseph Mhakayakora states that the land is supposed to be compensated direct to CFI Holdings in return for title deeds.
It however became apparent to the people that Mashayamombe and the cooperative leadership led by Ezekiel Karimanzira connived to fleece people their hard earned cash by deliberately including residents from New Ceney Park who are not supposed to pay to CFI Holdings but the government instead.
The humiliation he suffered was described as terrible and one that has never happened to a member of parliament for a long time.
“Shaddie akapusa, pakadai aifanira kuregedza kutouya”.
“While other MPs are attending the inauguration of the junior parliament he is busy talking about land,” others said.
