By Terrence Mawawa, Chiredzi| A male nurse who walked around and performed his work duties with a visibly erect manhood has been jailed for 13 years by Chiredzi magistrate Judith Zuyu.
Believe Mauswa, a male nurse based at Chizvirizviri clinic became aroused after fondling a female patient’s private parts under the pretext of doing an antenatal test.
He fondled the patient’s private parts claiming he was doing some medical check-ups in the laboratory. Mauswa ordered the woman to undress and stroked her clitoris for seven minutes until his manhood was erect, as described by witnesses.
In passing the judgment in court attended by ZimEye.com, magistrate Zuyu said Mauswa failed to behave in a professional manner and took advantage of an unsuspecting woman to satisfy his sexual desire.
The confused patient informed Mauswa ‘s superiors, leading to his suspension and a police report was made leading to his arrest.
The woman said: “He pulled my clitoris and rolled cotton wool inside my private parts. I told him I no longer wanted to continue with the test but he did not listen and I also noticed his manhood was erect. The test lasted for seven minutes .”
A senior medical officer in Chiredzi said Mauswa acted in an unprofessional manner.
“We expect medical personnel to act in a professional manner.In the first place there was no need for the woman to undress,” he said.
