A man has killed his six-year-old nephew in Marondera.
Mr Knowledge Kapesa was arrested after admitting to killing Tashinga Kapesa.
The lad’s body was found floating in a nearby river where the uncle had dumped him.
At the time of writing the motive for the killing was not yet known.
The murder by the man who is brother to Tashinga’s father has since caused an extremely disturbing family row as the father Blessing has begun accusing his father, Emmanuel Kapesa of conniving with the murderer.
The elderly Kapesa had to flee and seek refuge elsewhere after Blessing threatened to axe him.
Kapesa spent the whole night hiding but later returned after being persuaded by neighbours. A neighbour to the Kapesa family, Mr Chrispen Mashayamombe says the whole community is still in shock following the tragic incident.
Tashinga was an Early Childhood Development pupil at Grand Chase School.
