By Paul Nyathi| A defiant Wicknell Chivayo has blasted the parliamentary committee on energy for visiting his Gwanda Solar Power Station.
In a social media post, he castigated the parliamentarians who expressed shock at what they saw when they visited the site.
The parliamentary committee expressed shock when they discovered that Chivayo had only constructed two temporary structures on the site and put up an incomplete perimeter fencing after being paid $7 million by the Zimbabwe Power Company.
“What were MPs expecting to find on a site for a potential solar power station? A tripple story 10 bedroomed mansion with a tennis court and a swimming pool ?” wrote Chiyayo.
“Those are actually called temporary structures which means they are destroyed later…NOTHING UNUSUAL…..” he added.
The rest of the post reads as follows:
“A comprehensive feasibility report, designs, topographical survey report, geotechnical survey, EIA report, web designs etc are all kept in the office unless you expect me to hang all these documents on trees at the site….Pane nyaya ndopa ziva LUNCH KU DUBAI hapana chimwe.”
